Beer u can kinda taste it might mix with water cuz pretty light. The whiskey is good. I prefer the whiskey ice tea over beer a lot. The staff is nice just not the front desk girl. When we walk in, she said they are full booking. We completely understand, even a bit disappointed, we r gonna search up another bar nearby. And then the next second she said she forgot they have second level which is empty😂 I was like what, how can you forget that. At the end, when we leave, we still don see they are full, lmao“

“Great place food is always good. There daily soup for seven bucks is great. Loved there fish tacos. Staff is friendly and courteous.
Love the fact there has always been space to sit. Now the cold weather has passed it should get busier. My friend Nancy says there patio is great. Just moved into the neighborhood.“

The Old York Tavern feels like an old-man bar with a facelift (which i love) cozy, warm inviting atmosphere, good character. It’s definitely on the smaller side, so tables are very close together, but it kind of adds to the character.

My friend and I caught the tail end of happy hour and the drink + oyster deal is a great value. That said, the oysters were shucked pretty poorly (lots of shell bits), which was a bit of a letdown.

Food-wise, my first experience was a mixed bag but mostly positive.

Mortadella sandwich: Amazing flavour, but I did end up pulling a couple long stringy rinds out of my mouth, which kind of turned me off, but the sandwich itself was great

Chicken liver mousse: I’m not a mousse person, so take this with a grain of salt. The flavour was fine, just not my thing texture-wise.

Stracciatella & flatbread: Hands down the star of the meal. The flatbread was unreal, perfect texture and flavour and the stracciatella with roasted grapes was such a good combo.

Salt & pepper calamari: Good, solid, nothing groundbreaking.

Overall, the meal was good, service was excellent and the vibe is great. I’d definitely go back to try more dishes“

“The service is excellent and waitstaff are very good and very friendly. Some of the food items though are not that great. I had the nachos one time, and wanted to order them with ground beef instead of chicken. When I got it, it was chunks of steak, not ground beef. If they had told me they didn't have ground beef I would have ordered something else. I also asked that they take out the jalapenos as I cannot eat them. It was COVERED with jalapenos and even some hidden in the cheese. I did not enjoy them and ate 1/4 of it. I should have sent it back but I already had substitutions and didn't want to be a trouble customer. At another visit I ordered the bruschetta. This is NOT bruschetta. It is on naan bread, not a traditional bun. Instead of chunks of tomatoes and onions, it was slices of tomato and a couple of slices of onion, and covered in feta cheese. That is not bruschetta, I was highly disappointed. They do have some great menu items, the goulash is outstanding as is the chicken linguine and shrimp pasta. Their onion soup is really good, the onion rings and poutine are also very good. I was just disappointed in the two dishes I had.“

“Legit Irish pub in the east end pouring great pints of Guinness.

Came on Friday night at around 8:30pm to kill time while we waited for a table at Oldeseuol Tavern. This place was packed and they had live music. Thankfully we were able to get a seat for 2 in the back.

We ordered Guiness and a side of onion rings. I was expecting a few rings, but was surprised when it came out quite big for $5!

Highly recommend and can't wait to come back to try their food next time.“

“Decent overall. Server wasn’t very friendly. Bathroom was super cramped, you literally open the door to someone peeing and half exposed to the hallway and without room to walk by to the sink to wash or to use a stall. Beer was good though and the patio was awesome!“

I quickly checked their online menu and decided to go there. Had some great food and awesome, friendly service from Melissa. Looks like an awesome place to catch a Leafs or Raptors game in future and this great first impresion will definitely bring me back. 👍👍“

The music inside was a little loud, which made conversation a bit challenging at times.
Also, they close at 10 PM, which feels a bit early — it would be great if they stayed open a little later.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The service was exceptional - attentive without being intrusive, and every detail was handled with professionalism and warmth. Overall the duke of Cornwall (university location) provided the perfect backdrop for a heartfelt farewell. Would highly recommend this place if your planning a special celebration“
