“First visit to Wood Owl. The food was very tasty, particularly the pork chop and the pasta special. The smoked trout dip with chips is a great starter to share over a drink or glass of wine.

We found the service friendly and attentive. It’s a small space, so I would recommend making reservations. Regarding their two-hour policy - many smaller restaurants have this policy for two people. However, we sat there for three hours because the restaurant was not totally full. However, we were there on a Wednesday

“Picked up last two tamales from the freezer section .. had them couple days later.. put them in a steamer (don’t like microwaving) and served with salsa with avocado… bit of hot sauce… honestly… it transported me back to Mexico.. they were filled with chicken and veg and were totally delicious. Best tamales this side of the Rio grand!! $4:95 each and worth every penny!!👍🏻👍🏻 two thumbs wayyy up!!“

“One of the most fantastic Italian meals ever had in Toronto, and one of the most fantastic servers who was not only attentive to an incredible amount of tables at once but also anticipated everything we would need. Arrive early to snag a table - we got there 530 pm and when we left at 730 every table was packed.

“We had the best experience at Madrina. We ordered the 11 course tapas with wine pairing. Our server Mays was knowledgeable, entertaining and prompt while servicing our table inside and tables outside. The manager, Ishaan checked on us frequently making us feel at home. When you consider the amount of courses and wine the price point was more than reasonable. We highly recommend this restaurant. Paella for the win!“

“Cheap and cheerful food before the Leaf game. Cheapest beer in the Dwtn core. It is not cozy at all, being at the back of a grocery store, but close to many places to grab a beer and not have to pay an arm and a leg. It was not too busy so, might be a hidden gem for a while.“

“I can’t say enough about our stay. I came to Toronto for surgery and had anxiety about the stay. They reached out to me numerous times to make sure I had a smooth stay. They even accommodated another night on short notice due to some complications that I had. Taylor, Nisha, Luis and everyone we came in contact with were stars in my books. They went above and beyond for my stay and I can’t thank them enough. Also the basket of bath products with a thoughtful letter was just lovely and blew me away. “I was just at Zakkushi on Carlton, terrible service there！！！made me leave before even eating. I came next door to Kintaro, I’m so glad I did. The food here is much better, the flavors are balanced (unlike Zakkushi, which was way too salty), and the service was genuinely friendly and welcoming. This place beats Zakkushi in every way. Highly recommend Kintaro—skip Zakkushi and come here instead.“

“Learned about this place from Too Good To Go app and decided to come here for lunch with a friend. It is a little hard to spot since it is hidden in a small street. We heard this place just open a month ago, so might explain why the place wasn't too busy. Good for us, since we could sit by the cozy lounge area. I got the Avocado Toast, and my friend the Mediterranean Cauliflower. The Toast was super balanced and beautiful (and so much avocado!). The Cauliflower had a lot of components and was very filling. We both agreed the food was 10/10. if you coming for Cocktail, would recommend the Amethyst and the Carribean Sour!“

“Currently on the gorgeous patio watching the crowds filter in to the Scotiabank Arena. We intended to stop for a quick bite and drink and ended up staying for a few hours because of the atmosphere and the service. We were immediately greeted by Evie’s generous smile, followed by impeccable service from Barry, who not only was on top of all his tables and the bar, but made us laugh over and over again. And let’s not forget Eugene! Possibly the happiest and nicest person in food and service industry. All the tables are having a great time and the vibe is on point. One table was a bit grumpy earlier and rude to the staff but they handled it with grace. Would definitely recommend coming to the bar if you are in the area and heading to a game or concert. And be sure to sit in Barry’s section. You won’t regret it and you will keep coming back to see him….we will be back soon.“

“Not a bad note at any time. Monica is a very good server who is knowledgeable, engaging but not smothering. There when needed. The food is inventive and so tasty. Small bites. Two of us ordered five dishes and loved them all. The sommelier, Tessa, makes an amazing Arancello (better than Limoncello)! Her wine list is interesting and extensive, covering most types and regions, but we would have liked more bottles from Ontario, although the ones provided are all really good. We shall be back.“

“I recently visited Clockwork for a beautiful tea for a close friend's big birthday celebration. There was a great selection of teas and delicious treats, including gluten-free and nut-free options for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere was perfect, and everyone had a wonderful time. Before the tea, I emailed Elise to make sure everything was perfect. She was very lovely and accommodating. The staff members Gemma and Leah were nice but also incredibly attentive, making our celebration even more special. The whole experience was great. I would highly recommend it!“

“We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to your establishment. The quality of the cuisine was exceptional, and we highly recommend dining here. Our meal included kushiyaki, uni, aka wagyu maki,and the torch black dragon roll, concluding with dango for dessert. To top it off, Our aka wagyu maki had a springkle of gold flakes. It was the best experience we ever had. Lastly, our dango dessert was alot better than what we had in Osaka. And, Fernando was super great for assisting us with our questions.“

“Hip Asian fusion place. Travelled into Toronto for business and an old high school buddy and I met up there. Took an Uber from downtown at 6:30pm which was close to $30 and traffic was really bad. After our get together he drove me back and then no traffics by around 9pm.“
