“I called the week before arriving to inquire about a large group seating, the hostess took my name, number and size of party. She asked me to call the day before to confirm, which I did. We arrived earlier than expected and had to wait a little bit so current diners could finish up and give the staff time to setup for the 38 of us. I was very pleased with how friendly and accommodating the staff was for the size of our group. A group of 38 adults and youth hockey players from is a lot to handle. Not one complaint from our large group. I would definitely recommend and will, happily, return when in the area again.“

“We visited Turtle Jacks while on vacation. The food was excellent, but two servers that were in the place were not nice and did not want to serve us. Until Jen who was amazing. We sat there for 30 minutes and the two servers kept walking pass us like we didn't exist. At that point my husband and I were getting ready to walk out until Jen came over, she apologized for the delay and service. She gave us the BEST service ever. She went above and beyond ! I love to cook great food so I don't go to restaurants as much as most others do, but when I do go, I have expectations. Also, I have no desire to blow smoke up anyone's butt because I don't want to waste your time or my reputation. food means too much to me to lie to you so it is with pleasure that I write this review about Some Place Else!

let's start with proper expectations. Traditionally speaking, this is NOT a restaurant, it is more of a Tavern/bar that serves food so if you are looking for a fancy place to impress a first date, this is not the place, this might be where you go after the date if you like to sing karaoke but this, for lack of a better word is a blue collar joint!

On to the food. The food served here is simple, every day type food. burgers, fish and chips, wings and the odd sandwich. what makes this place special, is the Owner! I wish I got her name but she came to our table personally and made sure we understand what we ordered, made some suggestions if we wanted to save some money and explained options that were not exactly on the menu. for example, I ordered the philly cheese steak wrap, but she explained that I could also get it on a sub sandwich bun instead of the wrap and offered to cut up some green peppers if I wanted to put in the sandwich. The sandwich was very, very good and I'm so happy she offered the bun instead of the wrap. Also, the french fries are hand cut and tasted like real potatoes.. I didn't try the gravy but I wish I did because this was home made fresh stuff.
my wife got a burger, I tasted it and it wasn't some pre frozen burger patty, it was a home made, real beef burger and tasted nice. I got a look at the wings too and they were nice and big which is nice. The food came quickly and hot and with a smile. the prices were reasonable and the portions sizes were good.
what meant the most to me, is that you could tell that the owner cared about your experience and wanted to make sure you were happy and that, is a recipe for a good meal.

“Had a delicious chicken salad sandwich while sitting on a balcony overlooking the Horseshoe Falls! Our server, Stefan, was marvelous! We explained that we were in a hurry because we had to leave to go pick the dogs up where I had them boarded. He took the order, brought the food, and took care of the bill in a very timely fashion! Service started out as a 2/10 from 3 servers, when we were seated I asked for a drink menu and was told they didn’t have one (when we were there 2 weeks ago and our server provided us with one). My fiancé spotted our server from 2 weeks ago (Andy) and went over and asked her for a drink menu; in which she reached above her head and gave him one. The server (our original server that started with us tonight) that told me they didn’t have a drink menu never looked in our direction for the rest of the night. She continued to deal with tables around us, but ignored us, and continued to talk with the other servers working & spent 10 minutes standing at a table talking to what we presumed to be friends. Not only was Andy serving the patio, she was also taking care of us and multiple other tables inside. She got our food order, drink orders etc. I went as far as to ask her if they split tips or keep them, and disappointingly she said they split them. We would have tipped Andy heavily if she was alone/getting the tip herself, but was modest in tipping because the 3 other servers would have got it as well. Andy is attentive, friendly, and a 10/10. She really cares about the service you receive!“

“Well, we drove from N Falls to Welland to try this outstanding pizza and wings. It was outstanding ! Pizza used cup & char pepperoni done to perfection and dough was fabulous. Chicken wings were huge and reminded us of Buffalo wings 20 years ago in Buffalo. No bruises on these wings A1 quality . They actual use butter and hot sauce for the type of wings we chose. Worth the drive and excellent price , staff was amazing .Ryan & Tracey got his down to a science . We'll be back“

And we highly recommend an ice cream cone for dessert. Loved the multiple topping choices for the burger and found the service to be friendly and prompt.
