“It's a testimony to the delicious food, decently-priced wine, and super-kind service that this restaurant has been around as long as it has! I used to go on dates here with my husband years ago; yesterday I took my son for lunch to celebrate his university graduation because it's now become *his* favourite place (he appreciates the icy-cold and well-poured beer and thinks the burger is perfect). The beef tartare is amazing. A classic place in the pantheon of good Ossington spots!“

“Im not sure where to start on this review.

Well to say the least, it took me about 2 weeks to decide on a place to eat. My decision did not let me down. I chose this place because of the connection the Chef had to the food.

Ive traveled all around and have been to many fine restaurants and places to eat. To compare this restaurant to others, well you cannot.

If you have ever been to Montana or Wyoming, you know that you cannot describe the views. The art you get at Lucies, is comparable to the views you see. You cannot put it into words.

The service itself was as you would expect, amazing. The staff is knowledgeable about every dish that is presented to you.

What the chef, the staff, and the amazing mixologist does for you; is to say the least an art within itself.

Now I am not very good at taking pictures, but pictures would not do the dishes or drink justice anyway. For some reason google would not let me post pictures.“

“Went to Gloria last night as a walk-in and have to say this is Toronto's best new restaurant by far.
It was a busy Friday so we put our name down for a seat at the bar. Went across the street for a drink and within 20 min we got a text saying there was space. Ended up getting one of the best seats in the house at a cocktail table and the service was amazing.
We had the escargot which is a MUST, onion rings, mussels and fries along with the steak frites and everything was a 10/10.
Cocktails were amazing as well.
I commented that the restaurant doesn't even feel like Toronto - felt like we were in London or a hot spot in Europe. And best of all, the prices were actually reasonable.
A must visit and truely an experience we'll return for again and again.“

“Ranked no.4 best restaurant in Canada! Very difficult to book. Today grabbed a booking, Good cooking, service also very good and atmosphere is cosy! Unfortunately tonight we had a very loud female customer in our next table which spoiled the night a bit! Highly recommended“

“My daughter & I shared a salad and a steak/frites and it was amazing. The steak was moist delicious - the best I’ve ever tasted in a steak frites combo (as often the cuts of beef are tough). The bread & better were divine and so was the house salad.“

“Fantastic restaurant! This was the first time I had ever been there, but I will now be a regular visitor. The team was so welcoming and kind. And not to mention the food it was incredible super fresh and flavourful They seated us promptly and I was able to bring my dog onto the patio where they offered him water and treats.“

“The owner, Rob was most accommodating and friendly and got us settled into a great meal. Obviously, the regulars coming into the restaurant were very fond of it, and we felt "privileged" to be there. I would highly recommend it, but I would get there before 8 o'clock because it does get quite busy. We went at six on a Tuesday night and had most of the restaurant to ourselves, and it was quiet. When it started to get full, the noise level increased somewhat dramatically. My only small criticism was that it took a while to get our check. That being said, I do want to go back!“

“4 of us ate here a couple of weeks ago. What a pleasant surprise to find such good quality French cuisine in Cobourg ON. Not a single weak dish. Stand outs were the Cassolette d’Escargots, duck with a blueberry compote, veal shank, blackened salmon penne, house mussels, and creme brulee. The service was excellent, and a good selection of wines. We will definitely be coming back. Well done!“

“After over 12 years of bringing almost every friend I have to BC, I finally got to celebrate my August birthday in the restaurant( which is usually closed in August) with 19 guests. From the organization to the execution, the evening was superlative. Maya and Hiro know how to be professional, fun, flexible and outstanding! Went early on a Sunday and we had reservations but it wasn’t too busy (though got busy later).

Got the beef tartare which was nice.
The brioche. Was really good.

The French onion soup could have been more flavourful.

The steak frites was nice.

Service was good.

We would come back and try other things.“

“We got the rack of lamb "cook it yourself" kit on Friday; with the sides it's an amazing value and made an absolutely superb dinner. There was an error in my order, (understandable at 7 pm on a Friday) but the team went the extra mile to make it right. I highly recommend their meals for takeout, and I'm really looking forward to dining in on their extended menu when the lockdown is over.“

“I went there on January 3rd to celebrate my bf's and I anniversary. The experience was definitely worth the price in my opinion. You never got bored from the animations and even with the amount of service, it was made in a way that you always had place for the next service. I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service we received. The politeness, the professionalism was definitely a plus for us in this experience. I let the staff know beforehand that i selected a cake as a surprise for my bf and the discretion about it made it even more surprising for him. We came from Montreal to try this experience and dont regret it at all, i would definitely like to go back so maybe opening one in Montreal would be a great idea!“

“Came here for the second time last week on a busy Wed evening. We started off with the corn soup & pate which were both delicious! The atmosphere was lively but chill enough that you could still enjoy a conversation.

Although it was quite busy, our server, the gentleman with that leather hat, was attentive and thorough and he even brought a bunch of whisky bottles over for us to choose from at one point.

Our mains, the Iberian pork and steak frites were so flavourful I'm still thinking about it. Fries were a little on the salty side although still good. Dessert options were good however the portions are a bit on the smaller side. All that said it was fabulous meal and we can't wait to return!“

We were lucky to have the owner in the kitchen and not only was the food amazing but the service was great because it was a “family” running it. They want you to enjoy it not just to make money. “A delightful spot for a delicious meal. Tiny and romantic with an outstanding wine list. The best part about this place is the incredible care the staff and owner take of each person who passes their door. They treat everyone like family and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for. The restaurant biz is hard and has been harder still the last couple years. Darlene and her team have done so much to keep going in the most difficult of circumstances. “Biff's Bistro is a very good, faux French bistro. The food selection is excellent although the oysters could have had more selection of sauces including tabasco and other “hot” offerings! The bar service was a little slow but otherwise the overall service was excellent. The music selection seemed to jar with the idea of a French bistro - more genuine French including Quebecois musique would be a positive addition. The outdoor patio is very nice but be forewarned that Front Street occasionally represents a Winnipeg/Calgary drag strip.“

“Truly a 5-star experience from start to finish. I had heard great things about this restaurant, and it completely lived up to the hype. The service was prompt and very professional — you can tell the staff is well-trained and enjoys their work. The food was unforgettable. I had the special of the day (a slow-cooked lamb dish) and my friend had the pan-seared scallops. Both were beautifully presented and even better to eat. The desserts were also amazing — rich without being overly sweet. The space itself is clean, stylish, and comfortable. Great for both a casual dinner or a more formal evening. “Delicious French pastries and brunch. I had the benny with smoked salmon and it was great, the eggs were perfectly runny and the croissant was flaky and buttery. Their salad comes with their own home made dressing which is also very yummy. I highly recommend trying their pastries and tarts as well, taking a couple home, they are so good! It’s worth the wait for a table.“

“I've never had French pastry and was glad that we walked by and decided to give it a try. 👌 Light and fluffy, absolutely delicious. Definitely a must have. I should have purchased 2. “Not a bad note at any time. Monica is a very good server who is knowledgeable, engaging but not smothering. There when needed. The food is inventive and so tasty. Small bites. Two of us ordered five dishes and loved them all. The sommelier, Tessa, makes an amazing Arancello (better than Limoncello)! Her wine list is interesting and extensive, covering most types and regions, but we would have liked more bottles from Ontario, although the ones provided are all really good. We shall be back.“

“Really just wanted to try the plain croissant, and it was reasonably priced at sub-$4. Unfortunately it's not winning any awards in a hurry. Flaky on the outside, soft on the inside, but it lacks the butteriness of a superior croissant. The dough reminded me more of bread than laminated pastry. Staff were very pleasant, lots of seating inside, overall a decent spot. Just maybe try something other than a plain croissant 🙂“
