Staff is professional and efficient. Interior/Atmosphere is limited as this is a take-out place only. Doesn't hinder the fact that this is a 5-star place for me and one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the city.“

“One of my go-to places for Chinese food in Ottawa. The taste is authentically Shanghainese and tastes just like the food I've eaten in Shanghai. Their pork wonton soup and spicy beef brisket noodles are my go-to (of course, with their pan fried buns), and are delicious with generous portion sizes. Their shop is a bit small though, so it's good to go early or call ahead to get a spot! Their pan fried buns are also perfect to re-heat in the air fryer if you get take out.“

“If you’re looking for authentic, delicious, and reasonably priced Cantonese or Hong Kong–style food in Ottawa, JadeLand (翠园酒家) in Chinatown is absolutely one of the best choices in the city!

I’ve been here several times, both with friends and family, and every visit has been a great experience. The menu is extensive and full of classic Cantonese dishes. I highly recommend the BBQ meat platter, stir-fried rice noodles with beef (干炒牛河), black bean spare ribs, salt & pepper squid, and stir-fried gai lan with XO sauce. Everything is flavorful and freshly made — just like the restaurants back in Hong Kong or Guangdong.

Their dim sum is also excellent. The har gow (shrimp dumplings), siu mai (pork dumplings), and chicken feet are all top-notch — thin skin, juicy fillings, and great texture. You can really taste the care in how everything is prepared.

The atmosphere is not fancy or modern, but it’s clean, bright, and has that nostalgic, traditional Hong Kong tea house vibe. It feels cozy and welcoming. The staff — including the owner — are very friendly, attentive, and speak both English and Chinese fluently. Service is fast, and dishes always come out hot and fresh.

One of the best parts? The prices. For the quality and portion sizes, this place offers amazing value. On our last visit, four of us shared about 6–7 dishes and dim sum, and we were all full — and the bill was under $30 per person. That’s hard to beat in Ottawa.

All in all, JadeLand is a hidden gem for Cantonese food lovers. Whether you’re coming for lunch, dinner, or weekend dim sum, it’s a place I’ll continue coming back to again and again. Highly recommended!“

“It’s hard to beat the price and connivence of Flour Kitchen. It’s cheaper then a lot of the other places on campus and restaurants around. The staff is super nice and the portions are large. Not a huge fan of the ultra small sauce containers but I understand it. Highly recommend!“

Great Chinese food, and very fresh..I suggest you try their Egg rolls and Spring rolls..very good 👍..also, the vegetable steamed rice, I was very impressed by the freshness of the vegetables in this rice dish..Oriental House offers delivery, I chose the pick up servers..but, if you want, they also have dine in service, got to say it's a very cute atmosphere and when I have dined in had excellent service. “I’ve visited Yunshang Rice Noodle a couple of times with friends, and every visit has been consistently good. The flavours taste close to the original style — comforting, familiar, and satisfying. Service has always been smooth, and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it an easy spot to enjoy a quick meal together.

The location is convenient too, especially if you work downtown. I’m already thinking about coming back tomorrow for lunch.

“Love these guys. Typical Chinese-Canadian food, have been ordering the combo F for over a decade. Food is simple, but very tasty. Also, years ago (before uber eats and all that), I was actually missing a buck or two (mistake on my part, didn't count my money right like a first year university student that can't handle his liquor quite yet) and their delivery guy was nice enough to give me the food anyways. I think they have a different cook now the food has changed a fair bit and not for the good. ie general tso chicken was very tough.
We only have this as a treat to ourselves and our guests. I guess those days are gone. We will go to Party Pizza instead.“

“I have been going here for years. They are great. I usually get duck, char sui and crispy pork. Depending on the day, they will have other stuff. Some times I just get a whole bunch of stuff for me and my friends, other times I'll get a bunch of lunch boxes. A lunch box can have 1,2 or 3 meats - comes with huge amount of rice and Chinese greens.

“We went during the Victoria Day long weekend after going to the Ottawa Tulip Festival. All restaurants were busy that weekend and although we made a reservation at a different restaurant, they reached capacity and the long wait would have gotten us late to see the fireworks and drone show. This restaurant was able to seat us and the two girls working there were so accommodating, patient and sweet. Food was great and the decor was cute! Will definitely go again to try other dishes.“

we have just had our fill of the excellent cuisine of the owner of Tai Hong Chinese food. All his dishes are abundant and delicious for this type of cuisine.

I have just reread Mr. Bélisle's comment which I find to be very severe for someone who has ordered 150 meals in the last 5 years, according to his own words. I don't doubt his bad experience during his last order but from there to give it a star!!!

As they once said, it is not customary and to err is human!

“Everything is simply awesome. The menus are simple, with a lot if options. The service is very polite and friendly (and online ordering is a big plus), food is delivered very promptly (one time it was 15 minutes early!). The food portions are generous, but quality is not sacrificed for quantity. What's a cool plus is that they use a mix of Styrofoam and reusable plastic containers (not only better for storage but a little less wasteful). I have only eaten 3 times from here, but have been very happy all times. The fried rice, general tao chicken, chicken balls, and egg rolls (among like 5 others I've tried) have all tasted great.
