“This Wetzel’s Pretzels location is absolutely incredible. My personal favorite has to be the Oreo pretzel bites, they’re the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. While the pretzels are amazing, what really makes this spot stand out is the customer service. A young cashier named Haffi provided outstanding service, he was kind, respectful, and guided me through the menu with ease. With costumer service skills like his, I can see him going very far in life. I highly recommend this Wetzel’s Pretzels to anyone in the area.“

I would reduce it by 2 dollars to make customers feel more welcome. The tip system is a little pressuring on top of a heavy price. “So… my wife and I have been regulars at this gem of a restaurant ever since we moved into the neighbourhood over a year ago. We’ve always had our go-to favourites—the Truffle Mushroom Pasta (absolutely addictive!) and the Fresh Grilled Salmon (perfect every single time).

But today, we decided to branch out and try two of the Chef’s specials: the Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta and the Sea Bass with layered potatoes. OMG—both dishes were out of this world! Flavor-packed, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. These weren’t just good… they hit it out of the park.

Looks like our “all-time favourites” list just got an update. Bravo to the Chef and team—this place keeps surprising us in the best way possible!“

“I've been a customer of this restaurant since they started their branch on Bathurst St. Over the years, I've watched the business grow, and I'm always impressed by their service, food, and ambiance. The friendly staff always put a smile on my face, from ordering to finishing my meal. The restaurant continues to evolve, introducing new menu ideas and popular Filipino desserts-to-go like Taho, Buko Pandan, and Fruit Salad. Kabalen is a true gem in North York, perfect for bringing visitors to satisfy their cravings - a home away from home. One drawback though, is the accessibility. The dining area is located upstairs and the washroom is downstairs in the basement. As a result, it is not advisable for wheelchair users to dine in. Nonetheless, the establishment maintains a clean environment and is conducive for group gatherings, or for individuals like myself, who just wants to unwind after a days work.“

“Growing up, I never really gravitated toward rice rolls or congee - there were always too many other tempting dishes at dim sum! I found rice rolls too thick and filling, often taking up valuable stomach space that I’d rather reserve for dumplings and other favourites. But Millstone Rice Rolls completely changed my perspective.
The shrimp and pork rice rolls were a revelation. Instead of being thick and heavy, the rice noodle was thin, delicate, and slightly wrinkly - more like a wide noodle than a dense sheet. The filling was generous, with plump shrimp and flavourful pork, and the sweetened soy sauce tied it all together beautifully.
We also tried the rice rolls wrapped around youtiao (egg dough stick), and it might’ve been the best I’ve ever had. The youtiao was soft, chewy, and perfectly salty - none of that hard, mouth-cutting texture I’ve unfortunately experienced elsewhere. Paired with the thin rice roll, it was such a satisfying bite.
The congee we ordered - dried scallop, gingko seed, chicken, ginger, and bean curd stick - also stood out. The rice had a grounded texture, not too mushy but still comforting, with flavours that blended seamlessly. It was surprisingly light for a congee, which made it even more enjoyable.
All in all, I had a really positive experience. Millstone has definitely made me a believer, and I can’t wait to come back to try more.“

It was nice to enjoy their reasonably priced lunch menu, we enjoyed the Sicilian (one with turkey and no eggplant) and the Turkey with provolone and jelly. My daughter ordered bow tie pesto pasta di burrata - out of this world fresh and delish! We ordered bruschetta and heated olives/crostini and the maple pecan salad, the dressing was a bit on the sweet side if you don't mind, we found it scrumptious. Desserts were great, cannoli with pistachio filling, chocolate eclair (we think coffee would be better), tiramisu was ok, and best of all of them however was the nutella filled croissant with fresh strawberries, heaven! Happy to go again, and again, and again :-)“

However, the noise level inside was so high that I almost left (if not to meet friends there, I would have left). You could hardly hear yourself, not to mentioned hearing others. Price was on the high side, considered the home style cooking and its ingredients. Don’t try their BBQ pork, but do try their chicken and duck. Their desserts, I would recommend skipping.“

“Super cute little cafe! We really enjoyed our drinks. We got the latte donut and the butterfly latte (non-caffeinated). For the donut latte they pour it in front of you, allow you to try it and they add some more. Which I found pretty cool. The staff working was very kind, helped us decide what to get by recommending and patiently explaining. The cafe is a bit small with probably around 10 seats. We came on a Friday at around 2:30 and lucky was able to get a seat. Their drinks are a bit pricey though, the donut latte was around $10 and the butterfly latte was around $7. I believe they are also pet friendly. Would definitely come again, loved the vibes!
