“The food and service was good but i feel like our servers were rushing us way too much. Coming to our table every 5-10 min even when it was time for dessert. That would be the only negative thing to say. Not sure if it was because of the holiday season but we did have reservations at 7:45 so not sure what the hurry was.“

“Delicious and fresh. Ordered the spicy beef. The noodles have a great texture and the broth itself is flavourful and does not feel too oily. In terms of spice, you can change the broth to suit your level of tolerance. After leaving the restaurant I did not feel full or have that heavy feeling with my stomach. I love the oat fudge bars, vanilla cakes/cupcakes, chocolate cakes/cupcakes, custom cakes, both types of quiche, the scones, brownies, spiced chocolate bar, lattes, drip coffee, cookies...geeze I guess I go there a lot. I haven't even tried everything in the bakery yet. It is a wonderful for breakfast, midday treat and dessert after dinner. I stock up on Sunday to have enough to last me until Thursday morning when the bakery reopens for the week. I am having a very hard time sticking to just one item a day. It is great for school lunch treats because it is a nut free bakery. This is important for school staff and students.“

The place has character, with a it’s exposed brick and tons of books to choose from. I like to come here to do some light work. Amazing ambiance. The dining area is located upstairs and the washroom is downstairs in the basement. As a result, it is not advisable for wheelchair users to dine in. My daughter ordered bow tie pesto pasta di burrata - out of this world fresh and delish! We ordered bruschetta and heated olives/crostini and the maple pecan salad, the dressing was a bit on the sweet side if you don't mind, we found it scrumptious. Desserts were great, cannoli with pistachio filling, chocolate eclair (we think coffee would be better), tiramisu was ok, and best of all of them however was the nutella filled croissant with fresh strawberries, heaven! Happy to go again, and again, and again :-)“

“We were looking to try a new restaurant and we ended up at Penelope’s. What an hidden gem for us. The sourdough is top tier. Every drink we tried was on point. Summer 75 for me is a refreshing one. You can usually never go wrong with pizzas and especially over here. Also, hands down the best calamari I have had in this city has been from here. Trust me when I say that, it was so good that I forgot to take a picture lol. We are definitely coming back again!“

“Ordered 2 Double Shack Burgers which were delicious , Cheese Fries which were unfortunately a bit too cold, The Chicken Nuggets that were thankfully piping hot and fresh, as well as the Strawberry Lemonade which was really refreshing.

It does take time for the food to come but it is because they make it to order, the prices are okay and seem to be around the same with other burger joints.

It is way better than other burger places at Yorkdale, and it is good to try! Will come back again!“
