“Although I am vegetarian, I decided to go here for the Double Play. Got 2 small fries and small root beers before realizing that they had no stamps. So, had to buy large fries too. 😅 I like the old aesthetic of the place, not overwhelming and fast service. Plus the fries were nice and salty, so for the record you should come here at least once!

Vegetarian options: Rather limited.

I tried a bulgogi salad and a cafe latte - if u like a softer and milkier latte this would be a good choice… if u prefer stronger beans flavour then this would be too mild. “This place has become my favourite already! Came across this midtown gem known for its unbelievably cute custom latte art and I can say I will be visiting often.

Just upon entering I was greeted warmly by the staff and the interior was charming - with cute messages drawn on canvasses, it really gave a very warm feeling.

I ordered their cafe mocha latte (confirmed it came with the latte art - that was important!), and their shredded chicken naan panini. Food and coffee were ready in 5 minutes and I was OBSESSED with the latte art that the barista surprised me with. It took me a lot of mental strength to actually ruin the art and drink the coffee. 🥲 But the coffee was so delicious that it actually made up for it! It was a rich taste of coffee and dark chocolate and tasted divine!

Oh and the panini? Delicious! Perfect balance of chicken, greens, tomato and a flavourful sauce packed with yumminess.

I am going to be back for more!“

“Friends and coworkers have been suggesting this place for a while. Price is good for what is given. Bread is fluffy and soft but has a great light toast so there is great texture with each bite. Hash brown was flavourful and doesn’t need any condiments to eat. It’s a great breakfast or brunch option. I will eat here again.“

“It's a shame this place closes so early, since it's such a lovely place to get work done. I like the london fog with oat milk. It's nice and flavourful. I'll have to come here again to try the snacks and coffee, but I wasn't disappointed at all.“

“I like that they have some unique options, like the beetroot latte I had today. But just felt compelled to say that it’s socially criminal to promote a drink that’s just with oatmilk as horchata ?. Horchata is with tiger nuts, rice, jicaro, sesame or melon seeds, etc. … but not oat. and it’s disrespectful to both the history of the drink and also to coffee drinkers in T.O for whom oatmilk is nothing special at this point. Seems like a nice enough atmosphere but there were no observed plugs for anyone hoping to study/work on location.“

1. Came in for a decaf iced americano. Usually decaf is on the lackluster side, but their selection was absolutely delicious.

2. I decided to buy an Aeropress on the whim from this place, but then found I'd be eligible for a discount if I bought it straight from the Aeropress website. The staff here were gracious enough to give me a full refund, no questions asked.

“I love this place. Youssef is a great guy. The atmosphere is one that’s very warm and inviting. I just feel very comfortable being there.

Add to that it’s a 7 minute walk from my place.

The desserts, which I promised myself one each weekend, makes the anticipation great. And I’m always happily satisfied . So far I have not been disappointed but rather pleasantly rewarded.

Add to that the place is open beyond 10 pm most weeknights. The perfect place to bring a laptop, knock off a few work emails or just chill after a long day.

I’ve been there 6 times so far and each time it’s becoming more of a place I look forward to going to.

The cold, snowy winters will be better tolerated with a warm spot like this.

“A little hidden oasis in somewhat of a rough patch of the city. Great for cosy dates as well as quiet moments with a book or a laptop. They offer good quality selection of coffee and tea. I liked their choice of music which enhances the overall classy atmosphere. The food and pastry, as well as the service never disappointed us. Warmer months on their patio are equally enjoyable as their indoor environment. Word of caution - you won't like it if you dislike the scent of freshly baked butter-based delicacies.“

Originally visited on September 28! ☺️ I had extra time before a work event and came here for breakfast! I was drawn to the name of the coffee shop, and thought the yellow chairs outside were cute.

For food, I ordered the ham and cheese croissant sandwich and Groovy Smoothie. Everything was soooo fresh!! I had ask the owner his name (Rolando) and told him I could taste how fresh everything was. He was so happy to hear this and shared that he makes everything in the morning! ?☺️

I also asked him where the name Capulus came from and what inspired him to use this name for the cafe, and he said that in Latin, it means coffee.

We chatted a bit about the cafe! His business partner is from the Philippines, which is why they have a lechon inspired sandwich (without the crackling) and she taught him how to cook it. They also have drinks like ube lattes. They're a fusion cafe, which is why their menu has Latin and Asian inspired food! ?

It is a cozy cafe, and I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I did hear Rolando say that they get the same customers coming to the cafe 2 to 3 times a day ? which is sooooo nice! ?❤️

Wheelchair accessibility: There are a couple of tables outside (see attached photos), but the inside is not wheelchair accessible (the tables and chairs are higher and attached to the walls).“

“Janelle's is such a cute little spot with the most delicious breakfast. The quiche and the breakfast sandwich are excellent and so is the banana bread. Can't wait to come back!“

“I used to work nearby (Warden & Highway 7) and once I learned there was a specialty coffee nearby I made the effort to walk here each lunch I was in the office.

I can say briefly, the coffee is excellent and this is emphasized by the fact they rotate out espresso brews regularly and offer diverse and flavourful pour over service. I did not know there were shops in Toronto that sold Tim Wendelboe (Norway) or Manhattan Coffee Roasters (The Netherlands) or Coffee Collective (Denmark) and many many more.

The baristas are friendly and helpful and know what they are doing. Any request for adjustments to the brew is easily done if you ask politely, in my case, adding very little dairy/milk to certain drinks.

On top of that the shop also offers some small batch wines and doubles as a flower shop.

It's a shame I no longer work in the area but I will say I will be making the trip out there to enjoy the coffee and get more beans for my home brewing that I'd otherwise need to order online and at further cost. Highly recommended.“

“Popped in before a picnic and I’m glad I did! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an array of pastries at a cafe before nor had equally good coffee to match!

I ended up getting an iced latte and a Nanaimo bar. The latte was smooth and not bitter at all. The Nanaimo bar was very rich and sweet, so if you’re looking for something less sweet this may not be for you.

The line moved quickly and service was great. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but with the park across the street not many seats were occupied.“

“Hand in marriage PLEASE to whoever came up with Hailed Coffee. I love two things and it’s saffron and cardomomm absolutely delcious. I asked them if they could add some saffron to their cardomomm based coffee and they agreed and it was so good. Also the coffee itself is some of the best I have had. Highly reccomend trying them out if you ever can they are so good. Do note there is no seating so I hope and pray one day they open a cafe location“
