The lamb dumplings were delicious and were a perfect starter for a rainy night. Beef short ribs with bone marrow was the only logical follow for a main - and did not disappoint. I didn’t need dessert but the single burnt caramel truffle was literally only a bite more and worth the extra $5

The space is well appointed and comfortable if small. I went solo on a weeknight and didn’t need a reservation. The menu is not expansive and doesn’t need to be, they know what they’re doing. If you’re in Bend and want to treat yourself to a great meal do check out Dear Irene.“

“Really appreciate the quality of service!! I brought home cooked food and forgot utensils and serving dishes. They provide them in the lobby! I drank all my water, they have really good water available to refill, as much as needed. The POOL!! It’s heated 100 degrees.. I wanna live there!!! Love to Bend from Portland“

“Once in a while, we go out and have dinner with our friends They recommended this particular place Service was prompt. We ordered our drinks which by the way were good we all had salads. Excellent. The menu was fairly limited so we decided to go with the pasta which was very very good. we all ordered four different types of dessert which were excellent. They weren’t over sweet sorbet gelato. Ice cream was very good. The shocker was it was on Wednesday which they run these great specials and on top of that surprise our friends decided dinner was on them. You definitely get your your money is worth highly recommend this place“

“They did it again! Another gem by the McMenamins brothers. Lots of fire pits that were well tended and burning hot. Drink prices were good, especially for Bend. There is cigar smoking (and cigarette I assume as well) allowed here so be warned, if you don't like smoke, don't go. They sell cigars as well so if you don't have one, you're in luck. They also serve food from somewhere inside the main building. I didn't eat, but can only imagine it's the normal overpriced McMenamins not so great food. But hey, I never go to a McMenamins expecting good eats. Just a cool ambiance with cool stuff to look at and talk about. And O'Kanes doesn't disappoint on that front! Definitely recommend for a beverage and a cigar by the fire!!“

“our server Alisa was so kind! I don’t normally leave reviews but her service is exceptional so I felt she deserved some praise! The music was a bit loud because I was sitting next to the speaker and she graciously turned it down a little bit for me. So kind! I also ordered a drink I didn’t particularly like and she helped me with a new recommendation and got me a drink I really did enjoy! Every step of the process she was so attentive and nice. “We had great service today. However the halibut was overcooked and the famous chocolate cake was dry and tasteless. I don’t know what has changed, but this used to be my go to restaurant. Tonight I was disappointed.“

“Food was really good but the atmosphere and the employees were even better. The music was really nice and the whole place was clean and decorated well. The woman with the cute ponytail and glasses (I wish I would have gotten her name) was one of the kindest and friendliest I’ve ever met. She greeted every person who came in like they were family and I noticed she said goodbye to everyone too, while also taking orders, making fancy cocktails and cleaning up to keep it looking nice in there. After eating a burger and fries and a having a beer, I felt energized and happy instead of sluggish and too full. Must be really high quality ingredients. Definitely check it out as soon as you can. They have choices for the whole family and the milkshakes come in those cute little diner glasses. Sorry for the novel I just Love this place!!“

“This is an amazing place. They have excellent food and service. They have a great happy hour. And for those who suffer from gluten allergies or celiac disease, this place is probably the most gluten friendly place in town that I have found. Highly recommend and Malia is great too! We have been served by her a few times now and she is wonderful.
