“Very beautiful winery to spend time with friends and family! Staff was very welcoming and the owner Cam was top notch! He introduced himself and gave us a small tour of the tasting room while providing historical information of the grounds. It is refreshing to interact with owners and staff that aren’t snobby. Lemelson Vineyards Winery • $$

“The experience was a little more laid back than uptight, which was great. All the wines were lovely, including the whites and I'm mostly a red wine drinker. The space is lovely, though some seating was in full sun. You can bring your own picnic, which was fun, and it felt like most guests around lunchtime were doing so. Our group's favorite wines from this wine trip!“

Tendril Wine Cellars Winery • $$

“Cellar Door Wine Tours took us to Tendril Wine Cellars first on our 3-winery tour and warned us we'd like it best. We truly did. Each wine was delicious. I'm an Oregon pinot noir fan and they make great ones, but also loved their white pinot noir and rose. Tasting manager Andrew was delightful and kept us both informed and laughing! The tasting room is very small, but they also have outside picnic tables for warmer months. Make an appointment and enjoy! I signed up for the wine club as I enjoyed every sip.“

Carlo & Julian Winery Winery • $$

“Felix is an amazing mad-scientist type of winemaker. He’s not afraid to try blends of different varietals. They are all good. On top of that, he’s friendly, knowledgeable and very willing to share what he knows with others. Highly recommend.

Btw, the driveway to his place is kind of narrow. It may appear you’re not in the right spot. But you are. You are in EXACTLY the right spot.“

Laurel Ridge Wineries • $$
13301 NE Kuehne Rd, Carlton

“We had a reservation for a tasting and tour for 5 people at Laurel Ridge for my mother-in-law's 50th birthday. We were promptly greeted by Lucas, the wine maker for Laurel Ridge, who not only created and served amazing wine but did so with a welcoming and joyous ambiance. The tour was nothing short of amazing, demonstrating the importance of Lucas and his family members' roles. Lucas shared the history of Laurel Ridge, highlighting his father-in-law, mother-in-law and his wife, and how they established in Carlton and Bend. As someone who typically does not choose to drink red wine, I will continue to recommend Laurel Ridge Pinot noir moving forward. If you are looking for a welcoming environment to enjoy wine that is incredible, we highly recommend Laurel Ridge. To add to the experience, Jax the vineyard doggy hangs out on the property and makes the experience that much more exciting.“

“We had an amazing time during our visit! While we didn't sample every wine, the Cabernet Franc truly stood out for us. The winery itself is intriguing—it may appear to be a simple storefront in the city, but it boasts stunning views of the valley and mountains. We also enjoyed the bocce ball courts, and the staff provided a warm and friendly atmosphere. Plus, the prices were very reasonable!“

Ken Wright Cellars Wine Bar • $$
120 N Pine St, Carlton

“Ken Wright in Carlton, Oregon is a beautiful place for a delicious Pinot tasting. The tasting room is fabulous and the outside patio even better. Great wines, great staff ( I wish I had written down the gal’s name that hosted us) as she was knowledgeable, understood our palate and offered additional wines she thought we would like plus she was so fun. She also showed us the 1/2 Bottles we purchased for our at home wine tasting that evening. And of course we purchased other bottles. I recommend booking or stopping in Ken Wright Cellers.“

Soter Vineyards Tasting Room, by reservation Winery • $$
10880 NE Mineral Springs Rd, Carlton

“This was our first vineyard stop for our trip to Willamette Valley. We booked this vineyard after finding it in our research and learning they offered more than just tastings. They have a provisions lunch that we couldn’t pass up. The lunch was excellent from start to finish.

We walked up for our prepaid reservation and were greeted with a glass of rosé and immediately connected with our host for the day, Alice. Alice was a stunning host for us. I loved hearing her tell about each dish and wine we tried.

Our view from our table was stunning even through the rainy day we booked. It was a bit chilly that day, but the fire in the hearth and the delicious food and wine to warm us.

The chef also came out to meet each table which was a nice touch.

Highly recommend this experience.“

Anne Amie Vineyards Wineries • $$$
6580 NE Mineral Springs Rd, Carlton

“This place has sentimental value for me, but even without that I give it 5/5. The wines were incredible, the view was absolutely amazing, and Mary Lou, who guided our tasting, was so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We booked a tasting ahead of time, which is recommended. We went midweek, so we were actually the only people there for almost the entire tasting. A group came in as we were tasting our final wine and deciding on what to purchase. Reservations are recommended, but if they have room they’ll take you as a walk in! My parents were married here 31 years ago, so to be able to visit with my husband and experience it was incredible. I highly recommend visiting, buying some wine, and enjoying your time at Anne Amie! They will ship wine to you (depending upon the state you live in) and you can also ship it yourself from the Newberg Mail Room! You can buy their wines online, too. Amazing experience!“
