“This pho spot was okay. The restaurant was clean, and the food overall was decent. We ordered pho and egg rolls—both were good, though the meat in the pho was a bit on the dry side, and the egg rolls were slightly overcooked. The broth had good flavor, and the service was friendly, making for a pleasant experience. They have limited parking on the back of the restaurant.“

“Hanoi Kitchen is one of the few places in Portland that brings northern Vietnamese cuisine to the table. Our family loves this place. It brings us back to the time we lived in Hanoi down to the way Bun Cha is prepared. Must try.“

“Was excited by the daily special menu concept of this lil viet noodle joint. The food was mid-edible-decent at best, but the price is pretty high af. A bowl of whatever noodle is nearly $20! Now I know inflation is high but a bowl of vermicelli noodles in chicken broth with some shredded meats should not cost this much!“

“I lived off this place when I stayed in Portland for vacation! Everything is amazing. The pandan cake, the bahn mi's, the coffee! I'd visit Portland again JUST to eat here. The French rolls are baked fresh everyday! I took some home for the road trip back to California! Check this place out it's amazing!“

“The staff is very friendly. From order to table is fast. Never been disappointed with the food. When they're busy they're super busy and the hassle bustle atmosphere adds passively to the experience (in my opinion). Must try. We will always keep coming back (since 2014)!“

“Heard of this place thru friends and referral but did not get a chance to try their food until today. I’m very happy, impressed, and satisfied with the Special Sausage Egg Combo dish and Peach Tea drink this evening. Really love the generous portion in the box, the meat is so tender and so flavorful and the side veggie, pickle is so fresh. This dish is very common and can be found at any Vietnamese restaurant, but this place is definitely a step above. Recommended!“

“Best bahn mi in town, soft warm fresh bun and flavorful meat. Beef pho has an amazing broth. Better than any place I’ve been to and I’ve been all over Canada and US eating yummy Vietnamese food. They have interesting new foods on the counter I had never seen before and tried an item. All good all around, the owners are really nice and the prices are great! Give this place a shot for some to go food for a picnic or dinner. 5 stars. No photos I ate so quick!“

“Came into this restaurant on the weekend, and while it was pretty busy, I only waited about five minutes to get seated—not bad at all considering how packed it was. And honestly, I can see why it was so busy. The pho was excellent—simple ingredients but packed with rich flavor. The service was fast, and the staff was attentive, making sure everything was just right. Overall, I had a great meal and a really good time. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for quality pho and good service!“

“This tiny and plain looking but surprisingly good Vietnamese deli is in the heart of Montavilla. It is the second time I’ve lived in this area and in total I’ve live here for nine years but it is the first time I went to Banh Mi Nam Loc. This is such a hole in the wall that if you blink you’ll probably miss it completely. From the outside this place does not look like much. This was part of the reason why I never felt like going in. I had a really bad experience the first time I lived in the area when I visited a purportedly banh mi sandwich joint but I swear it was a front for some triad or money laundering operation. However, a few years ago I read about Banh Mi Nam Loc on Portland Monthly magazine and was intrigued. It was warm today and I was craving salad rolls and a banh mi sandwich. My go to was out of salad rolls and I remembered this place that was just two blocks away so away I went. I am kicking myself for not getting to this place sooner. I have to warn you if you are looking for a nice, cozy deli, this is not the place for you. The counter is stacked high with piles of cookies, Vietnamese delicacies and sweetmeats. It literally looks like a dive deli but one look at the photos on the walls and I knew I came to the right place. The dishes depicted confirmed it. They had banh khot, which are little Vietnamese rice flour pancakes topped with shrimp and are really hard to find. But there it was, depicted in all its glory. I also saw a variety of other Viet specialties such as bo kho and bun bo Hue. I ordered the goi cuon (salad rolls) and banh mi dac biet (banh mi special). While I was waiting, a regular came in and ordered some bo kho (beef stew). The owner knew him and his order and this made me realize I was in for a treat. When I got home I opened up my to go container and I confirmed I was in for a treat. The goi cuon was really fresh and well made. Nothing is worse than a flaccid salad roll so I usually judge a goi cuon by how turgid it is. This was nice, compact and erect. Everything stayed in place when I bit into it and all the ingredients tasted super fresh. The banh mi dac biet was also very good. The baguette was not bad but what stood out was the charcuterie in the sandwich. Banh mi dac biet is special because of the filling. Various deli meats including ham, process meat products, pate, head cheese, and sausage are used. It’s not for everyone but I do love a well made banh mi dac biet. It’s the only time I’ll eat head cheese and pate. The veggies used were really fresh and crunchy. It was exactly what I was craving on this warm summer day. I was very satisfied and can’t wait to go back for more. Next time I am getting the banh khot for sure. If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese deli food, give this dive deli a try.“

“This restaurant has recently updated the inside, which was atactually sorely needed. The new interior is very nice except they have those metal chairs that pinch you unless you have narrow hips. There are still a few half booths made of wood but only a few available.
I love their wonton soup with thick rich pork broth.
They have a new shorter menu and prices are higher but still competitive.“

“the place had really nice interior with plenty of natural lighting and lots of plants! Had to flag down a server a couple times but the food came pretty quick, we got the no.3 and no.7 pho, salad rolls, and thai tea. The food and drinks were deep in flavor and great comfort food overall, my partner said it was a bit pricey for the size but I thought it was fine since everyone is raising their prices nowadays. We went around 3pm and wasnt too busy at all- would come again for sure. Ended up paying around $53 + tip for two.“

“I called in a to-go order of Bánh mì for lunch. Only a 15 minute wait, super quick in and out. The sandwiches were delicious and I can't wait to go back and try more food.
Parking: There was a decent number of parking spots when i went to pick up my food around noon and there was also a 10 min reserved parking spot for picking up to-go orders“

“Alrighty, so today I tried out Jin Jin for the first time ever today after getting recommended them by my boss. From what I’ve heard they have amazing fried rice and food so I had to get some. I placed 2 separate takeout orders for their spam fried rice(my new favorite) and their Lapchong Chinese sausage fried rice. They packaged both of them beautifully in reusable Tupperware containers and the final garnish and look of my food was amazing. Taste wise, it was literally the best fried rice I’ve ever had and trust me I’ve eaten a lot of fried rice everywhere through the years, it wasn’t too oily and the taste of it was absolutely perfect! I could tell it was authentically cooked in a wok and seasoned by the hands of a chef who’s been cooking for a very long time and knows what they’re doing. They’re kind and very nice people who are really friendly and took care of my order and payment fast and smoothly.
The store interior is so welcoming and family friendly lookin; it’s just a classic small and aesthetically beautiful restaurant. I highly highly recommend this place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner for everyone to experience. 10/10 I will definitely be back for more :)“

“Great place to watch sports. The food here is subpar for Vietnamese cuisine—but their customer service is great. They offer a decent selection for tap beers, and cocktails. Video poker isn’t usually packed either so you could always find a machine to play on—or play pool/darts if you’re not into gamble.Been coming here for over 10+ years, and I have to admit that this is my go-to bar when I’m in SouthEast PDX. Will definitely continue to support this establishment for many years to come.“

“Im honestly surprised this place only has 3.3 stars based off my experience today. I had never been here before, my husband & I usually go to the fork for the mexican food but our littles dont care for it. So I placed an online order for the orange chicken & rice. It was ready in 10 minutes, super hot, fresh & not only the best orange chicken we have all ever had, the portion was huge!!! We will absolutely be going back to this place“

“Just had my first visit here and it was so good. The vegan pork belly is something I would have never ordered, but so glad my daughter did because it was amazing!! I got the fried rice which was also really good, and had asked them to add broccoli. Most places just toss a couple pieces on top when you make this request, but Van Hanh put a ton of perfect bite sized broccoli all through my fried rice. Perfect, and much appreciated by this broccoli lover. We will definitely be back!“
“This place is an ABSOLUTE TREASURE!! The banh mi is some of the tastiest I’ve ever had at the best price I’ve ever seen. Phuoc, the nun who runs the cart, speaks very little english but is the sweetest person in the world. She takes her time making each dish one by one and while you’re waiting you can sit or walk around the beautiful temple that the cart is connected to. Whether you’re vegan or not, I highly recommend making this spot a regular visit!!“

“I had the pleasure of dining at Ka Te, Portland's very best Asian restaurant! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I was especially impressed by the owner Eric, who was knowledgeable and passionate about the restaurant and the food they served. The food was absolutely amazing! I had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes and they were all incredibly delicious and authentic. The pho was especially good, and the broth was flavorful and just the right balance of spices. The spring rolls were also excellent, and the fish was cooked to perfection.I also had the chance to try the karaoke for the first time, and it was a great experience. Everyone was having a great time, and the atmosphere was very inviting.Overall, my experience at Ka Te was one of the best I've ever had.
