“Great all around experience! Got stranded here for half a day waiting for an AirBnB to open up. Was a paradise of good sandwiches and better coffee. Real neighborhood vibes where the staff seemed to know every customer that came in by name.“

“This was our first time here and we were truly impressed. The hostess was awesome, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. There's outside seating as well. I had the hand breaded chicken stripes y husband had fish and chips. Three breading was the best I've ever had and the chicken was tender and juicy. The prices are average for this area. They have a happy hour menu for Sun-Thurs that's for lots of choices. We will definitely return.“

“I had a great experience at MoonShot Tavern! The inside is vibey and bright but I really loved sitting outside. The Ankeny Alley is the SPOT! Drinks were great and the food was really good too. The waiter was very nice, however he was too chatty with other tables thus neglecting his service level with his other tables (i.e., me having to ask another waiter for my check or other essential items). “Amazing restaurant connected to the Royal Sonesta hotel. Excellent first stop for breakfast as it is full service and opens at 7am. Coffee was fantastic, food came out quickly. Had biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. The biscuits were split and toasted with a garlic butter, gravy was spot on, and eggs were light and fluffy and not over cooked. Service was excellent, the entire space is beautiful. Full bar, wood fitted pizza oven... Highly recommend.“

“This place deserves a Google review! My husband took me here for dinner. I’m a former USSR citizen who’s been in the USA for over 30 years now.

I was thoroughly impressed by the food and customer service. The atmosphere was amazing, with a great decor and music that brought back many memories from my childhood.

I ordered the rabbit in the clay pot with potato pancakes, while my husband opted for cabbage rolls. For dessert, we indulged in vareniki.

Derek was an absolute delight! He went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Despite not being from the country of origin, he did an outstanding job, always checking on us and providing valuable recommendations. Another girl was checking on our table to make sure no dirty dishes and water filled. I am beyond happy that this place exists!“
