“My family and I stumbled upon The Chomp while visiting SE Portland. We intended to eat on the opposite side of the train tracks, but, alas, we got stuck behind the train… However, we’re glad we did or else we wouldn’t have found this amazing restaurant! We were immediately greeted by the owner who served us. We ordered the crispy pork belly w/ rice, cashew nut chicken w/ rice, and mango sticky rice. Absolutely no notes! Everything was authentic, fresh, and cooked so well! It’s easy to overcook pork belly, but this was very tender and juicy with a nice crunch on the outside. The cashew nut chicken was also very flavorful and hearty. For dessert, get the mango sticky rice served with warm pandan rice and crunchy crispies! Each dish was like a hug in a bowl. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also memorable — reminiscent of a retro diner that just so happens to be impeccably clean! The owner was very kind and gracious, which added to the warm and calm atmosphere of the restaurant. My family and I loved everything and can’t wait to be back!“

​We were on a small time crunch, but the staff didn't miss a beat. The gals working were incredibly sweet, welcoming, and fast. They accommodated us perfectly by bringing out both plates and to-go boxes right away so we could enjoy our meal and pack up the rest to leave immediately without waiting around.

​Crispy Basil Chicken: Absolutely perfect I'm obsessed with the basil. They mentioned the basil is air-fried, which leaves the leaves wonderfully light, crunchy, and not greasy or guilty at all. The flavor was beautifully sweet, mild, and perfectly preserved.

​Tom Kha: You can tell they make this the right way. I asked for no onions, and they accommodated it easily—a sure sign of a scratch kitchen! Because they keep their delicious broth base separate and add the fresh meat and vegetables to order, the mushrooms weren't soggy at all. Everything tasted incredibly fresh!

“I was in Portland for cancer treatment and had to have a special diet. I could only drink broth. I went to Thai Seasons to ask for their help, because I trust the ingredients they put in their food. They were so kind to me and prepared a Tom Ka broth and a chicken broth for me. These broths were perfect, nourishing, and delicious. “Mum Thai has some of the best Asian food I've had! The chicken katsu curry is delicious, the sides can make a meal of themselves, and the owners are on top of the game. I've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes(with a long line) and its always hot and fresh. This is a regular for my husband and I, you NEED to try it out!“

I got the papaya salad and there was not a single chili in it, despite requesting it to be spicy. Papaya salad is supposed to be a challenge to eat! There is so much flavor in the chilis. The salad was just sweet and sour, missing the entire point of a papaya salad. I can see making it without chili if your customer requests it not spicy, but please dont assume we cannot handle the heat especially when we specifically request it to be very hot“
