“My wife brought me here for my 70th birthday. She asked, "where would you like to go?" "Surprise me.", I told her. Oh my! My grandmother from Puebla, Mexico would have loved this place. The tortillas were fresh, Handmade! I ordered the Pozole. Oh so rich and fragrant and bustling with pork, hominy and a very wonderful broth. Did I mention the tortillas?? Oh Lord!! I plan to bring my three adult children here for my son's birthday. I plan to eat my way through the menu, over the course of the next year or so. I can see that there are many others who love this place. The entire time we were having dinner, there was a steady stream of people coming in for takeout. Yep, this is a gem of a restaurant. Come enjoy.“

“Had one of the best meals of my trip to Portland at Lilia Comedor! I dined solo and the team was kind enough to accommodate me with the Chef’s Dinner tasting menu for one, which already set the tone for such a thoughtful experience. I also did the wine pairing, and every single course was incredible! Super flavorful, beautifully presented, and full of unique ingredients and combinations I wouldn’t have thought of myself.

The portions were also surprisingly generous for a tasting menu. I left completely full and very satisfied. The wine pairing was excellent, and the sommelier was knowledgeable, approachable, and clearly passionate about what they were serving. Huge shout out to Jason, who took such great care of me all evening. He made the experience feel relaxed, personal, and genuinely fun.

What really made the night special, though, was the service overall. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. It somehow felt elevated and cozy at the same time, like being welcomed into someone’s home for an amazing dinner party. And the handwritten note at the end was such a thoughtful touch.

Absolutely worth the visit if you’re in Portland. Five stars without hesitation.“

“We were just walking by this place and decided to check it out and it was one of those unassumingly awesome spots! It has simple but cute decor, great comfy seats (both the stools and the back tables), and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I loved the footnote on the menu dedicating it to the important people in Tamale Boy's life. The menu felt intentional and so many things sounded delicious! It is also reasonably priced. We were pleasantly surprised when all our drinks and food came out. It was elegantly served and delicious! And of course, can't forget the World Cup enthusiasm! It always brings people together.“

“We love the vibe on 23rd avenue and stopped in for lunch. All but myself ordered appetizers to share. The bacon wrapped jalapenos were awesome as were the other ones I tried, but my enchiladas were a big disappointment. The flavor was unlike any other I have eaten, and disagreeable to me. The Mexican rice was crispy and crunchy also with an odd flavor, and the black beans were mediocre. All in all, my choice was a bust. The service was good, and liked the decor, so I would probably give it another chance, but I won't be ordering the enchiladas!“

This, after trying 90% of the mexican trucks within a 2 mile radius, Neza is by far the best around(possibly the best in town). If you didn't know, go find out for yourself.“
