50 Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Portland

“I have been to this wonderful spot a million times but stayed in my comfort zone of the tacos. I've literally had them all, even the burrito, and burrito bowls. However, something told me that comfort and change can't sit together so I decided to try something new tonight. I tried the scrumptious pulled Jack sandwich, which came with heaping sides of Mac and cheese, and greens. I also got my 6 yr old the tamales. Before I noticed he scarfed down his tamales and was asking for a bite of mine. I was only able to try a single bite of his and man oh man I wanted another one just for myself lol... Here we both are now both stuffed to the max but of course, what a good dinner with a great dessert. We are eating the yum yum yummmaaay blackberry peach cobbler... If you ain't been here, get here, and if you have, try something different next time, I bet you'll love it better or just the same as your favorite.

To top it all off she is such a majestic being, very social( I mean we all have our days right?) and down to earth, and her love language is servitude!!!

I came in and the waiter said he was going to change my life and he did just that. “This place has one of the best vegan banh mi I’ve tried. The bread is fresh and crispy, and the fillings are well seasoned and delicious. I also love the peaceful atmosphere since the shop is inside a beautiful temple area. The staff are friendly and the food feels homemade. “Twice now I’ve eaten at Ox. I came back for the Clam Chowder with Smoked Bone Marrow as it left such a lasting impression. This time, we tried the Skirt Steak with the Radicchio & Romaine Salad. It was a 10/10! Most excellent meal. We also sat at the grille where all the steaks and chops were being prepared, and we loved feeling part of the process. Can't wait to bring family!“

“My friend and I visit here every Friday evening. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Especially Jason. He remembers regulars, and is very genuinely caring about the people he serves. The servers, including Lupita, are very prompt and nice. Your drinks never go empty! We prefer this location because it’s not only open until 10pm, but because we have had such pleasant experiences with the staff. Food is pretty darn good too! Fresh breakfast meats and French toast! The food is exceptional, which is no surprise considering it's a Your Neighborhood Restaurant Group location, which has over half a dozen chef/butcher/owner operated locations around Portland.

Quality meats and well sourced ingredients. Great selection of beer and cider, and a surprisingly diverse menu with great options for all appetites.

We've tried the smashburgers, hot sandwiches (hot honey chicken and turkey), steak salad, and the sides. All meals were well received by ages 5-45, from foodie to redneck. They look as good as they taste, which is such a nice change of pace, considering the price point, which is very fair.

We will keep supporting this location as long as it's here in our neighborhood! Great work guys!“

“Love Javi's. It's in our neighborhood and we can walk. It's such a welcoming and warm atmosphere the minute you walk in. They were busy on Sunday morning and we opted to sit at the bar, which is a cute 3 spaces. Bar stools aren't the most comfortable but we didn't want to wait for a table. I ordered the salmon eggs benedict and it was phenomenal. It was the special so if it's available when you visit, get it. So delicious. We also ordered bloody mary's and watched the bartender make them in front of us. Spicy with a long celery stick and green pimento olives. You can get bacon added if you want (we didn't). We love this place. The family that owns it is gracious and trains their team well as their service is excellent, friendly and an extension of the family. Javi's menu items for both breakfast and lunch items will keep everyone happy with enough options for the next time you visit. It's just a great, local restaurant that focuses on the quality of its food and service. Definitely go check it out.“

If you're a veteran that's ever been stationed in Japan, pair this up with Jinro and a Page 11 and it's like you're back in Oki! “just stopped in today before work for lunch. The attendant was personable and respectful. The food was made quick and even taking it to go, it was still warm and delicious once i made it home. I find new experiences pretty daunting, but i felt attended to and was helped when i had questions. I've had other "bowl" quick bite alternatives to The Whole Bowl but this was the easiest and most delicious experience by far.“
