“Stellar ambience and amazing food. Ordered the small breakfast - eggs, bacon, toast, and potato wedges and it was all so, so good. The portion was perfectly filling. Staff was friendly and provided impeccable service. Surprisingly uncrowded for a Saturday afternoon. I loved the art on the walls and the playlist (mostly 90’s music).“

“Beautiful place with a huuge selection! Loved tasting different whiskeys here and the bartenders are very knowledgeable about different flavor profiles.

Food smelled delicious but sadly they were out of all bread and our fries were just ok.

Suggest visiting the place to get in on the waitlist at least an hour in advance“

“Being new to the area, we arrive early. We went to the tasting room and the staff greeted us kindly. It was obvious they were getting things set up for the day, and yet they were attentive to us. They had a great selection of whiskey on hand with tasting notes posted next to each bottle. The tasting room/ showroom was very spacious with lots of room to lounge around, or sit at the bar, and can easily accommodate those in your party who might not go on the tour. The tour costed $35. We paid $10 paid in advance online. Because we are club members, the $10 fee was waived. The $25 balance will be collected at the tasting room. The tour itself was very informative. It covered lots of questions one might have about the process of making malted whiskey. We even got to taste their whiskey after it the distillation process, before it ages in barrels. Its something you should definitely try. You'll appreciate what wood barrels do to enhance its flavors even more. To keep things sustainable, and to collaborate with other businesses in the adult beverage field, Westward Whiskey collaborates with a few of the many wine and beer producers in the local vicinity. They exchange barrels between each other, and thats what helps them produce different finished whiskies whether it be a wine, stout, or rum finished expression. At the end of the tour, there will be a whiskey tasting flight to introduce you to their basic lineup. If you want to try other whiskeys they make, many of them are available...you just have to ask and they'll likely accommodate you. Be aware that there are some bottles that are only available at the tasting room in Oregon. There are some bottles that are not on display, but available to club members, and some bottles that you might see online, that must be shipped from a fulfillment center. If you're visiting the area, you'll need to plan ahead so you can receive a shipped package prior to your departure. My final take on Westward Whiskey is, they are a smaller sized distillery who make great products. They are positioned to grow and will do so with marketing and good distribution. I cant wait to see their products distributed where I live in Hawaii, some higher proofed bottles produced, and what other tasty expressions of whiskey that are developed from this great company!“

“As a native Texan this is some of the best brisket I’ve had in Portland. The quality of the meat, tenderness of the brisket and smoked flavor reminded me of the many mom and pop shops I would frequent growing up in south Texas. The pork ribs were also super tasty. I’ll definitely be coming back and would recommend this spot for anyone looking to try some Texas BBQ in Portland.“

“What a great spot to hang out. Food and drinks are fabulous. Paydirt is dark and sexy with a huge selection behind the bar. Bartenders are friendly. Sitting outside is fun when the weather is right. Choice of food is awesome. Mexican, fried chicken, pizza, pho, it’s all good. Parking is street and we were a block away but not too far.“

“Great atmosphere, with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces. Food from adjacent Bbang (Korean sandwiches - had a delicious fried chicken sand with with tots and cucumber salad...all great except tots and tad salty but that's expected) and Pan con Queso (Mexican themed pizza, didn't try but people were enjoying it). Nice curated tap list, excellent cocktails and even ranch water (taller tequila based drinks) which was great. Drink service can require some patience when crowded.“

“What a gem!! We were celebrating our 40th anniversary and thought we would be enjoying the waterfront and nice weather, but since the weather took a turn, we were looking for a special place with more of a cozy atmosphere and we found it! We had a cozy booth, and I can’t say enough about their food, servers and manager! The food was amazing, we had a flatbread and split a Smashburger and the beverages were outstanding! They comped us their signature dessert, a pear cake with caramel drizzle and vanilla ice cream, and it was to die for! Paula was above and beyond as our server and Bonnie, the manager, were both so personable and friendly! We will definitely be returning as we have season tickets to the Keller and we can’t wait to come either before or after and we look forward to bringing our friends sometime soon❤“

“I was staying here and so I ordered a meal to go, since they don't provide room service. I had the brisket sandwich, it was ok, not a lot of flavor and certain bites were a little tough but overall it was decent. Fries were crisp and plentiful, but perhaps a bit too much salt seasoning on them.“

Loyal Legion Bar • $
7000 NE Airport Way, Portland

“Excellent spot for people watching good variety of booze but pro tip...for the love of God if any of the employees read this you need to dust your damn speakers on top of your booze shelves. There is so much dust accumulating up there. I can see it plain as day from the register, especially in the evening when the Sun is setting. It looks super unprofessional for an otherwise great airport location“
