“Me and my family have been coming here for the past 18 years! This family owned restaurant has the most kind owners who work everyday they are open, generous portions, amazing flavors and best prices in all of Portland metro area! Our families drive from Salem and Vancouver to come here whenever we’re craving teriyaki!“

“This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Their lunchtime specials are very tasty. I go for the egg flower soup, beef and green beans, vegetable rolls, noodles or rice, small salad. My wife likes the orange chicken. Add a cup of tea (optional) and you have a satisfying lunch.“

“Holy cow, probably among the best chinese food in town. I asked them to make a General Tso Tofu even though it's technically not on the menu, and I was blown away. The flavor is super complex with fresh ginger and garlic cloves and the tofu is soft and fluffy. Definitely the best restaurant on Macadam no question.“

“Outstanding food and great service. The owner served us and did a great job pointing out menu items and explained some things that were new to us. The food came out fast and hot and we really had a great experience.“

“great vibe and comfortable. this is as they position it: a bar that has accompanying food and not vice-versa.
you don’t go for the food. its over priced, trying to hard to be cool-ethnic….almost self conscious in its drive to be hip with small portions, as if to signals the quality. it tries to incorporate the taste elements of the culture, but the items i had fall a bit short…almost bland. good for IG eyes but it is the mouth that counts.
contrast this to lulu where the deep ethnic menu is a “hidden treasure” and treat inside a great cocktail lounge. the bar appearance gives you no hint to the great execution that hides behind the curtain. the food is great and well priced. it is about execution and is not self conscious. it works.
silk roads could do it; focus on the value and have fun with it.“

“Always a great experience, this was our first time at the pioneer square location but it did not disappoint! The XLB’s are the staple ofcourse, but the pork chop fried rice and spicy wontons are delightful as well. Our kids love it, and the staff was extremely patient and kind.
To finish off the night we had the chocolate dumplings which are our absolute favorite! But we got the salted whip cream on our waiters recommendation and we will never order them without it again. 10/10!
Made for a great bday dinner for my wife.
Kid-friendliness: Staff is very kind and patient“

“They had great food. Fried rice was delicious. Prices were a little more than i normally spend for lunch, but prices are more everywhere. Their soups were very tasty. The tea did taste different than i am a custom to having in Chinese restaurant.“

“We were looking for a nice restaurant with my husband and saw some mixed opinions about here so we decided to try. It’s so worth it !!! I loved the dining atmosphere, the lady that served us was also super friendly and cheerful. We recommend the wontons and we also loved the vegetables with broccoli and warsugai chicken. We will come back for sure :)“

“What a wonderful surprise! This restaurant was recommended by a family member, and we ended up making a reservation for our group of 12 for a birthday dinner. The service was outstanding from the first phone call all the way through to our server wrapping up our leftovers for us. The food was outstanding, generous portions, fresh beautiful vegetables, wonderful flavors. I would absolutely recommend them and hope to visit again next time we’re in the area!“

“man, the eternal dilemma: pork belly brussel sprouts or mabo tofu (with ground pork)? two amazing dishes I can NEVER get enough of.
this place is pretty dead most of the time, except for take out and delivery; the front counter is straight up jumping but the wait staff have little to do. so fabulous place to go with a large party and no reservation (except prob timbers/thorns nights).
my only qualm with this restaurant is its practice of not including white rice with an entree that needs it. it's like 2 bucks (I think) added on, and the unconventional and the weirdness of this policy bugs me. I'd love to hear the owner's rationale.
that said, portion sizes are huge, the veggies and meats fresh and never overcooked, like they are at so many Chinese restaurants, and prices are relatively inexpensive. I love the look main at their nearby competitor, Ling Garden (though the freshness of the chicken, especially, seems to have become suspect) but the quality and prices here is generally better--this is more fusion, in a good way, than it's neighbor. and don't even get me started on the other nearby competitor, August Moon. other than paying more because of tacking on right, Kung POW beats them both.
I'm not much for sweet and sour but I've gone with people who have had dishes with their cherry sauce who think that's fantastic; also, Judy's Noodles get some significant love. But for me it's all Brussels/mabo, all the time.“

“My wife and I order Ying Bun several times a month. We just love it everything is fresh and taste like authentic Chinese food. We have a standing order, that we order every time.
We start with:
1) two large wonton soups that has lots of big large beautiful wontons with fresh snow peas, carrots, celery, sliced chicken, barbecue pork and large shrimp too!
2) Number 5 Dinner that comes with Fried Shrimp, Pork fried rice, Sweet and Sour chicken, Subgum chicken chow mein
3) large order of crab puffs
4) large order of fried shrimp
This is our order, we love this meal. We get at least 3 meals out of our order. Always hot and fresh. We don't even mind the 20-minute wait time to make it. Just awesome to have something wonderful local because we like to go home put our pajamas on watch TV and eat all this food.“

“I recently dined at Sichuan Taste, and it was an unforgettable experience—in the best way. From the moment we walked in, the fragrant spices in the air hinted at the bold flavors to come. The restaurant had a warm, bustling atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
We started with the spicy wontons in chili oil, and they were phenomenal—delicately wrapped, perfectly cooked, and swimming in a sauce that delivered heat with flavor, not just fire. The mapo tofu was a standout: silky tofu in a rich, complex sauce with that signature numbing kick from Sichuan peppercorns. It was everything I hoped for and more.
Another favorite was the dry-fried green beans—crisp, savory, and just the right amount of salty. Every dish we tried felt thoughtfully prepared, with generous portions and vibrant ingredients.
If you’re a fan of authentic, fiery Sichuan cuisine, Sichuan Taste is a must-visit. Just be ready for some serious spice! (Pro tip: order the jasmine tea—it pairs beautifully with the heat.)
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)
Would definitely come back to explore more of the menu!“

“Nice cozy quick spot near the convention center, perfect for a quick lunch, even if there is a decent line. I had the steamer bao with pork (A+), spicy tofu (B), and Lotus (A). It seemed like good value for the price. There isn't too much room for seating but they can still fit quite a few people.“

“Pecking duck was amazing! Great sauce served with soft buns and some type of fancy onion on the side comes with a deboned half duck with crispy skin.
The Kung pao chicken had lots of veggies and chicken. I was pleasantly surprised. This was the best Kung Pao I've had in a long time.
The building is older, yet just a block away from the chinese gardens so it makes it great to go to both at once.
The server was on top of it as she always was refilling our water before we needed to ask.
I heard 2 other individuals talking about how good the Egg Fu young was there. One ordered an additional dish of just that.“

“Really nice inside and prices are pretty reasonable too. Food is really well seasoned and drinks are GREAT. We got the soybean one, strawberry, mango, and grape. The salted foam was yummy and my favorite was the aluminum box beef noodle but the rest of the food was good too. Our waiter was also friendly. I recommend you try it out!“

“What a fantastic little gem of an Asian food truck in downtown! My husband and I ordered the teriyaki chicken and chicken yakisoba. I was floored by the amount of food you get for $10! Everything was so flavorful and delicious! Service was excellent. I was impressed that the truck was only run by one man --- and he really slayed in that kitchen! We will definitely be returning here to try more dishes soon!“

“The dining experience was exceptionally positive. The staff demonstrated attentive service, although the table became somewhat crowded with the abundance of dishes, potentially due to our over ordering. (really wanted to try the whole menu including dessert!)
The noodle plate and soup dumplings were particularly memorable. While we were unable to secure the reserved window-side seating with the view of the riverside due to our late arrival, the restaurant's ambiance was captivating regardless of the seating location. The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and enhanced by a touch of soy sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and confidently recommend this spot to those seeking authentic and flavorful Chinese cuisine.“

“Looks like a old run down americanized chinese food joint. Well it is. BUT their dished are amazing. Had their szechuan pepper chicken. Sweet, savory, spicy. It hit every note. Nothing is authentic Chinese about this place but who cares. If you crave old style americanized chinese food. This is a must visit.“

“10/10 best pork egg foo young I've ever had! I haven't eaten here in well over 10 years and now that I've moved back to the area I knew I had to have me some egg foo young. Thank you for serving the most delicious food that's stayed consistently scrumptious over the years!“

“Great option for Chinese food. I came between rushes, so I had no wait and everything came out FAST! Not sure if it's the same at dinner time.
Hot and sour soup was just a tad heavy on the white pepper, but good. That's an accomplishment because I'm picky about my hot and sour soup. The tofu was clearly marinated and tasty (another large compliment from me).
Pork fried rice is another staple for me that a lot of Chinese restaurants fumble. It was surprisingly good! Not the best, but it had some good flavor. Either cinnamon or Chinese five spice was subtle, but noticeable.
Mongolian beef was fantastic, a bit better than most places I've tried, recently.
General tsao chicken was good. The breading was very crunchy (maybe a little too much?) but didn't go soggy and had a great sauce on it.
The tea was even good enough that I didn't add sugar, which is a literal first for me.“

“Gotta call ahead and they'll bring it to the curb.
Want to update this for their Nacho Week offering...
IT WAS EXCELLENT. Made with their wanton chips, instead of tortillas and LOADS of pork pieces and a nice cheese sauce. An excellent offering at only $10. A fun change from the regular chicken steam buns and spicy won tons that we usually get and enjoy.“

“Delicious handmade noodles from a food truck? Yes, please! The flavors are fantastic and the noodles are soooo good. Just make sure you ask about spiciness if that is an issue for you because when they make something spicy, they mean it! I absolutely recommend the chao mian in mild and the pork dumplings.“

“We use to go to the Hi Hat in Tigard for our Chinese food. But they closed years ago. So we have been going to the place in downtown Tigard. And they are just OK. Nothing special. So tonight we tired Kuang's Kitchen. And WOW. The BBQed pork was very moist, the String Bean Pork was flavorful with the right ratio of beans to pork. 10-ingredient fried rice had everything listed and very good. This will now be our go to place for good Chinese food.“

“The food here was amazing! I was a bit skeptical because of reviews, but the food was phenomenal! It was crisp and fresh and everything tasted different
They put sauce on the side so it didn't get mushy (we ordered door dash, which actually took 1.5hrs because there was no dasher available) and the food was delicious and fresh. I can't recommend highly enough. We've tried at least 10 local Chinese places, and we will never order anywhere else again. This is THE place. Thanks Wally's!“

“Love this place. I'm Asian & I appreciate good Chinese food that us ABC (American Born Chinese) loves. A few years ago my cousin from San Antonio Texas was in town & we took her & her husband here and said the food beats the Chinese restaurants in Texas.Yesterday, we celebrated our granddaughter's 18th birthday and she picked Hoho as the place to hold her family bday dinner at. I highly recommend Ho Ho Restaurant! They make dishes like how our late parents & relatives did! 💕😋“
