“Our first time ordering from here. Food was delicious!! Although, one of the orders was not correct. My wife ordered a Hunan beef meal, which was supposed to include fried rice and roti. Instead of receiving roti, she received an order of white rice…. which means she received two orders of rice!! She was not happy and we did not receive what we paid for.“

“stopped for lunch after reading good reviews and it was a good choice.. Crab Rangoon was delicious ( and the whole reason i went, at first i was thrown they were in triangle shape and not the traditional way i was used to; but oh my were they tasty and i think i like this shape better for eating, The sesame chicken and fried rice tasted way better than i ever expected for takeout. ( My coworker was so impressed with his sample he stole off plate) Wonton soup was the best take out soup i have had in a long time. My entire office is now excited to order from here.. I will be making this a regular place to eat. When i picked up the order everyone was nice and friendly. i had more than enough sauce and did not have to ask for extra.“

“Outstanding food outstanding service!!!!
Though the restaurant is average in size they more than make it up with outstanding (yes using that word again) authentic Chinese cuisine!!!!!
They also have traditional menu items that will blow you away..... don't believe me......try their super sized egg rolls!!!!!!
When busy the restaurant is a beehive of activity but the staff handles it all with the grace elegance and precision of Ballroom Dancing!
By virtue of Chinatown Inn's constantly being crowded obviously they are doing something right and I completely concur!

“China Taste restaurant serves foods such as egg rolls, wontons, hot and sour soup, fried rice, bean curd, beef lo mein, egg foo young, sweet and sour chicken, roast pork, and shrimp chow mein. Prices are reasonable.
I purchased three entrees, the broccoli with garlic sauce, hunan shrimp, and kung pao shrimp. The cook quickly made my foods. I thought that these foods tasted very good.“

“This is the best “Americanized” Chinese food I’ve had in this area. Their chicken is either all white meat (specified on the menu) or you can request all white meat if you like. It’s always identifiable as whole pieces of meat as opposed to some places where you get pulverized bits that may once have been chicken. Their veggie egg rolls are the biggest and best around. The filling is fresh and usually still a bit crisp as you would expect from actual vegetables. Favorites: lo mein, veggie egg rolls, orange beef, sesame chicken, amazing chicken, garlic string beans.“

“Love this place. It's one of those lil hole in the wall type spots. Their lunch specials are unbeatable, under $8 for a full meal. The food is all cooked fresh and really good. The place is clean and staff are super friendly. Highly recommend!“

“As are a lot of food establishments in this mall, they're aggressive with passing out samples. That said, if you're curious about another item, they're happy to let you try it. Their orange chicken is delicious and their portions are large enough to split. Everything was fresh and great quality.“

“I enjoyed the eggplant chicken here and even though mine was served a little spicier than I had hoped, they offered to replace it without my needing to ask. They just saw my face turning red a gave me some cold water to drink. Sadly, their standard in most food prep is to use large presliced, brined garlic - not the best. Other reviewers have commented on this. Their food would be absolutely amazing if they used fresh, unbleached garlic! It was, nonetheless, pretty delicious and a great lunch value!“

“Reading the previous reviews made me give this place a try...they didn't have anything the previous reviewers rated on the buffet. The buffet was a little over $14.00 and plus a tip puts you at $17+...do not come here for the buffet is the lesson here...everything was basic, veggie lo-mein, oily plain fried rice, rice noodles, string beans...ect ect. Everything you would find as expected at a buffet. They did have one pretty authentic tomatoes and egg dish I haven't had since I was a kid in Taiwan. Other than that everything else was ok.“

“Taipei is by far the best sushi and Chinese restaurant in the Fox Chapel area. The servers are courteous and the specialty sushi rolls are noticeabley larger and tastier than Jimmy Wan's. In my opinion, Taipei also offers a better selection than Jimmy Wan's. We also appreciate Taipei's complimentary fried wontons served before each meal and orange slices provided at the end of service. This family-friendly restaurant always make us feel at home.“

“Very nice restaurant. Service was great. Food could’ve been a bit better. I ordered the orange chicken with white rice no spice. The chicken didn’t have much flavor yet was drenched in sauce. I usually love their sauce but this Sesame Inn compared to the one in Mt Lebo isn’t as good. Had the pork eggroll it was delicious and had loads of flavor especially with the duck sauce. Still may go back just try a different dish.“

“Largely a run of the mill American style Chinese restaurant, but the quality of the food puts it above many local contemporaries. Everything I have ordered has been hot and well made, with ample portions for the prices. The restaurant itself was closed for dining for a number of years due to the pandemic, and it's still not a place I'd dine in at, since the dining room is pretty dingy and outdated, and basically seems like an afterthought for the aforementioned takeout business, which always seems quite busy. The service is pleasant, but seems a touch understaffed for demand, so expect your order will likely take longer than the the average Chinese takeout place, and you may be waiting a bit longer than the initial prediction. But for the overall enjoyability of the food, it seems worth it. Definitely a decent takeout option for the area.“

“We had an amazing time. The food was delicious (General Tso's Chicken and Mongolian beef were my favorites, but everything was incredibly tasty) and the owner was gracious and accommodating for our larger party. Will definitely be back, can't recommend it enough!!!“

“This is the best restaurant in Pittsburgh bar none.
I’ve eaten most of their giant menu and haven’t yet been disappointed (though I just don’t understand seaweed knots, anywhere). All the fish and pickled veg dishes slap, their hand cabbage is my fav, they do whole fish and duck very well, the saltnpepper and flaming pan stir-fries are solid, their American-style dishes are a head above counter take-out places; even their fortune cookies are better than standard Canto spots.
I usually take out, but when I eat there, it’s even better.
They also once came out and offered us water when we were walking around with our kid on a hot day. I love this restaurant.“

“Ordered takeout here for the first time tonight. We ordered some staple dishes and we were told 30 minutes to prepare. I arrived at 30 minutes on the dot with the order waiting. In and out, no complaints. There are tables to dine in, but it's a small strip mall style restaurant so capacity is probably not more than 30 or so.
The chicken on a stick was flavorful, grilled well and not dried out as it tends to get at some places. Initially I didn't think much of the wonton soup. The broth tasted very thin from what I'm used to, but eventually it took on a very prevalent ginger flavor and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. There was very little other than broth and wontons though, only a few slivers of green onion.
The Mongolian beef was very good flavor-wise and peppery, which is how I like it, but the sauce was watery. I don't know if they forgot the cornstarch or what happened. Next time I come here I intend to try their "Hot Spicy Beef" whatever that is...
The General Tso's was excellent, again with a very pronounced white pepper flavor which sets it apart from others I've had in the area. Also not very sweet, which was appreciated. The sauce was sticky without being cloying. I would definitely come back for this and would recommend it to any connoisseurs of General Tso's.
The pork fried rice and chicken lo mein were both satisfactory no-frills Chinese takeout. I would have liked a little more depth of flavor in both, but Lin's Garden has me spoiled there.
All in all, a great little spot to add to the rotation. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent flavors of the main courses. I'm excited to try a few of the other standards and see how they measure up.“

“I came here to try the peking duck and I have got to say it was one of the best I have had in the area so far. I got the full duck, skin and meat (I have been to some places that only give you part of a duck and hardly any skin) not only that but I got plenty of pancakes, green onion, cucumber, and hoisin. There was easily enough for 4 meals, since I was eating alone. It only took about 30 minutes for them to prepare the duck which is pretty good and average for this kind of meal. The service was great, I am sad I wasn't able to dine in but I definitely understand.Next time I am in the area I am definitely returning not only to get the peking duck but to try more of the meal. I am throughly impressed with this restaurant and can't wait to return.“

“I have tried many chinese food restaurants in my life and this one is decent priced. It's best to order at least 15 minutes ahead of time. I ordered a few times now and the food is good for the price. I'd say most things I ordered were a 9 out of 10 and I liked them. So far egg foo young and the cream cheese rangoons were the best things, seasame chicken was really good too!! They are very busy at dinner time so you may wait a bit longer but it is worth it, and I can tell you work so hard and fast! Thank you I liked everything you have made so far!!“

“As someone who grew up outside of NYC, I am very particular about Chinese take out. No. 1 Chinese Kitchen in the Penn Hills neighborhood of Pittsburgh is a solid 9/10. Egg rolls were crispy and delicious. The soups are outstanding (tried egg drop & hot and sour) and the dumplings are on par with an absolutely outstanding garlic dipping sauce. Entrees are very good, but I've only tried two - egg foo young and sesame chicken. Egg foo young is on par with NYC - will definitely get again!! Sesame chicken is a touch too sweet, but I prefer more savory over sweet dishes. Will definitely get take out from them again!!“
“This is my first time visiting a small town and I had the pleasure of dining at this local Chinese restaurant, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. My friends and I ordered a wide selection of dishes and each and every one of the dishes were amazing. There was just the right amount of favors and they were all VERY delicious. The portion sizes were also very generous and the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food provided. The service was outstanding. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations.I speak for both me and my friends and we would 100% recommend this to anyone!“

“Terrible service, terrible food. Don't eat here.
Edit: I'm editing this review to 5 stars. Originally, I reviewed this location when it was called iNoodle. Thankfully, that place has closed down. Since there's a new restaurant owner, I believe it's fair to remove my previous 1-star review.“

“Fast, efficient, and always good. Is it the greatest Chinese food in the world? Probably not but it is one of the most consistently good Chinese food out this way. Been eating there for longer than I can remember and the General will always hit the spot.BONUS if you tip well they will be at your door in like 15 20 tops happy to greet you.“
“Hands down the best Chinese food I have *ever* had. Incredible. I ask for flavor and spice and boy did they deliver!!! I can’t wait to try everything they offer. The wait staff was kind and responsive. The environment was quiet and optimized for conversation. This is not your everyday “take out” Chinese. Respect the culture and order authentically. “Worth the drive!! I have three Chinese places closer but the food is so good I don't mind the drive. The salt and pepper chicken or tofu are the finest I have had anywhere. I tried the old standard Mu Shu Pork and it was perfect. This is a little gem of a place.“
