“My boyfriend and I come to the restaurant quite often! Rina, her husband, her father, their daughter, and all staff are amazing! If you walked out or passed by this restaurant, you NEED to try it out! As an ex waitress, sometimes it’s a good idea to make a reservation on a Friday/Saturday night. They have plenty of space to serve you and those you’re with. I know sometimes people can get hopped up because “they’re not getting waited on”, but trust me, they know you’re there, just be patient and the food is always worth it! They’re always accommodating when it comes to your food and choices.

This is THE ONLY restaurant that’s survived this area. I’ve been in this area since 1995 and there have been MANY restaurants here.

“Checked out The Victor Cafe founded in 1918, a little gem of an Italian restaurant in South Philly. All staff are also opera singers and perform an aria every 30 minutes. Also, this place was featured in Rocky Balboa and Creed as Adian's Restaurant. This place is definitely worth a visit. Recommend having a reservation.“

Scoogis is everything you want in a dining experience. Great energy in the dining rooms, high-quality service, atmosphere, great menu, great desert. The service was amazing throughout the meal, I wish I got the servers name as he was really an incredibly friendly young man who clearly knew the menu very well. The atmosphere is wonderful and the interior is just lovely. In terms of the food, I had the wild boar bolognese which was a special that night, and it was AMAZING!! “My wife, son, and I enjoyed an excellent dinner at Saloon to celebrate my 65th birthday. All of our dishes were delicious, especially the soft-shell crab appetizer. The cocktails were also nicely done. I enjoyed a Manhattan before dinner and a chocolate martini with dessert. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. “I’ve heard about Fiorino for so long, especially from someone who lives in Florida! I finally went and it was all they said it would be! Absolutely delicious! I asked our server what entree I should get because I couldn’t decide between 2 of them that I wanted. He said “No problem! I’ll bring you a half portion of each!” WHO does that in today’s world?! So absolutely kind and cool. I loved every single thing I had there and can’t wait to go back!“

“Came here on the weekend but in the middle of the afternoon to celebrate a birthday.... Nice clean restaurant, tables fairly close but still roomy enough.The servers did a great job and the food came out surprisingly fast, which was nice.
We thought that the casesar salads were excellent. The romaine was fresh and a nice dark green and the croutons were a great texture, not too hard.
The eggplant and ricotta sandwich was very good, especially the cheese which has a fantastic texture!..the only criticism being the roll could have been larger to fit in the contents of the sandwich. We were blown away by the Prov Pie (upside down) and thought it was one of the best pizzas we ever had (we're Philly natives and all over age 60, so that must say something!)“

The food and service have been consistently excellent and we have had large family gatherings in a private room here. All family members were very pleased with food quality, selection and service. “The homemade pasta is really excellent. The texture was perfectly toothsome. I got the cacio e pepperoncini (vegan option) and it was quite good, though the sauce wasn’t my favorite. It felt very oily and I’m not sure if that’s a product of veganizing the sauce. I loved the tangy spice of the pepperoncini though.

The shishito peppers were good, but fairly standard blistered peppers like I’ve had at many other restaurants. The almond / mint sauce was quite nice though.

The plates are generously portioned.

Vegetarian options: They have a few vegetarian options that are clearly labeled. They also have clear labels for dishes that can be made vegetarian or vegan.“

“I had dinner at La Sera the other day and was impressed. The appetizers were delicious--we had the calamari, cozze, and mushrooms. All were delicious, but the mushrooms were phenomenal. For entrees, our table had the ribeye, veal ripieno, spaghetti and meatballs, and ravioli rosa. Everyone loved their food.

And I must give a special shout out to Meritan. I realized the next day that I left my hat at the restaurant and I had already left for the airport to return to Florida. I connected with Meritan who I coordinated with to have it shipped to my house.

In all, La Sera offers delicious food and service from good people. I will certainly be back.“

“I originally gave this place 1 star, now they have new owners or new management or both. So far, everything I have order was good, no problem with pick up or delivery. I haven't tried everything yet, just the pasta dishes and they were all delicious. Customer Service was good too“
