As a person with a strict gluten free diet, I loved being able to find a restaurant that not only offered gluten free items but items that could be made gluten free! “Overall, we had a mixed experience at the restaurant. While the service was good, there were some issues with the food quality control during our visit. The burrata was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the cheeseburgers. However, we were disappointed to find that the capers in the steak tartare had a moldy odor to them, and the Lobster Mac was overly salty, making it inedible. Despite these setbacks, Manager David promptly addressed the issues, which we appreciated.“

“You stand in line you order what you want and they cook it fresh right in front of you they weigh it up then you pay at the end you can eat inside or a balcony upside or outside across the street there's a free parking lot with benches you could sit outside and eat and it don't cost nothing to park there“

“Kicking myself for not driving up the hill sooner to this incredible Pittsburgh gem! The food: outstanding and fresh. The drinks: Delicious. The glassware: so fun. The owner and staff: incredible people. We visited on the last night of the season before the owner makes the trek home for some well-deserved time off for the holidays. (They'll be back in Feb). We had lovely conversations with the staff and other bar patrons. It's a lovely cozy space and the perfect environment for talking to strangers. There are some beautiful photos on the wall used as conversation starters from the owners travels. I tried the pickle martini and some of the house-made wines, all were so tasty. The food blew me out of the water. The Iberian plate was a perfectly curated mix of the most delicious meats, cheeses, olives, kimchi, etc. We got lucky that day as the owner had prepared her famous lamb. She slices it thin and serves it with a generous portion of pita bread and house made dips including tatziki and red pepper hummus. I'm dreaming of eating and drinking here again and can't wait to become a regular.“

“I come with my husband for lunch. We always get the lunch special and he LOVES the soup that comes with it. I adore the Tum Yum veggie soup. The summer roll is so fresh and the crab app is crispy and always hot. It’s a family owned business so that just makes it even better. You can’t go wrong with anything you get. Try the Musaman curry with beef. The owner is so sweet and that’s what keeps my husband and I coming back for more.“

“me and my boyfriend drove about an hour from beaver county to try shay and baeee's restaurant. the food was pictured exactly how it looks from the pictures online. my boyfriend got the lobster and shrimp. he said everything was fire, only thing he would of changed was to have more lobster meat. I got the chicken and steak, everything was great. chicken was a little dry (nothing a little sauce can't fix) and the cabbage and Mac n cheese was good. cabbage was just a little spicy for me (I'm weak with spicy foods so may be fine to others) go support small business, and hopefully we'll see y'all in beaver county one day!“

“Read the mini bio/mission statement of young Luke Wholey at the front of the restaurant; so charming and somehow makes you feel personally connected.The food we ordered was cooked very well with great freshness, flavor and seasoning. The fish and oysters were excellent.We had the unexpected opportunity to meet and speak with R. Wholey who was very generous with his time in answering questions about the history of the family business. What a treat!Personally observed LW with a broom in hand and doing a quick clean of the stairs then also acting as greeter and host as guests came in. It was our first visit, hopefully not the last, and I hope the restaurant continues to have success and longevity much like the related Wholey's fish market and grocery store down the block.“

“We tried this place for the first time last month and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. We didn't have a reservation but they sat us in the bar area so I guess I would most likely make a reservation next time . I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was huge ! Also very good . “Amel's is top of the line Mediterranean cuisine and my favorite go-to for baba gannouj. They have an extensive menu (including American fare) and always have several dinner specials. My favorites: stuffed eggplant, mazze platter, tabbulee, grape leaves and lamb shish kabob. The beet salad is excellent. Their seafood specials are always fresh and delicious! The swordfish kabob is outstanding if it's on special. Entrees include a stellar Amel's salad and warm pita bread. There's a separate bar with patio seating and a small bar in the dining room. Embellishing a great dinner is a warm and colorful ambiance of many hanging lamps, and the romantic mural on the wall will captivate your imagination! I've enjoyed dining here for years, and it offers good service and a moderately priced menu. Amel's is one of the few restaurants where you can enjoy a late dinner or small plates and cocktails. They are open until 11 pm Monday through Saturday. If you are looking for a big hit for a party try the mazza platter. I thoughtful friend added it to my birthday party menu. It contains, the dips, taboulee, artichoke hearts, stuffed grape leaves and pita. It can also be also vegan friendly and gluten-free, and everyone loved it!“

“I grew up in Oakmont. Alot of memories at Hoffstot’s. My grandmother loved their homemade blue cheese dressing. In turn, we loved their blue dressing too. Hoffstot’s had a delicious homemade dressing with a ton of chunky blue cheese crumbles. DELICIOUS. Needless to say, this last visit with the Kraft blue cheese was beyond disappointing. Our bartender, Shawn, was a total doll. We LOVED him. Also, we LOVED the chicken parm. Just as I remembered.“

“Had a funeral lunch there in October for my mother-in-law. The service was impeccable and the food selections were perfect! The staff expressed their sympathy. I attended another funeral luncheon recently somewhere else and the service and food was very lacking. Highly recommend having a group event here! The price was reasonable too.“

The first mistake we made was driving from Robinson to Carnegie to dine at Benihana‘s. Within thirty minutes of being there, we left (but that’s another story) Unsatisfied and still very hungry, we decided to stop in at Sapporo’s. They didn’t open until 4:30 (at this time it was 4PM) and noticing the website says reservations only, I called to make sure it was okay we dine in. The man on the phone said what time can you be here and I informed him we were already in the parking lot. He told me “I’ll see you in thirty minutes” The moment we walked in we already knew we made the right decision. The table we sat at was full of kind people. Everyone was talking, sharing stories, laughing etc. it literally felt like we were sitting at the dinner table with FAMILY. The chef came out who happens to be the owner. A one man show, and boy did he kill it! The food was so fresh. I had the filet and scallops and it was cooked to perfection. Not only did he make a great meal. He shares stories himself, took the time to actually enjoy our company and show his appreciation that we were there. He must be the sweetest man I’ve ever met. His wife was very pleasant as well! The waitress was so accommodating and very on top of things with her being the only one there. I honestly think this is the longest review I ever made… I could go on and on but long story short, you will NOT be disappointed with Sapporos.! Living nearly 5 minutes away, this will be our forever date night spot!“

Not sure what type of crab is used, fairly certain it was not lump crab meat? We will try a different seafood entree or sandwich on our next visit & hope for better.“

“My mom, my son and I came to Merchant on Friday (2/16) night. Merchant Oyster is pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty...pretty good.We sat upstairs and our waiter was great! Really friendly and welcoming. He had a lot of patience chatting with my son and that means a lot because my son is very talkative. ?The vibe at Merchant is great. It's eclectic and warm and welcoming.The food was awesome. The warm lobster roll with butter was heavenly. And the crab cake sandwich was so fresh and flavorful. The plain mac and cheese was good. It's definitely a nice option for kids. “The guys were so friendly and professional. My food didn’t take long. I just saw that they were open and decided to give it a try.I had the shrimp n grits and it was FIRE!!!!!! The potatoes looked a bit on the dark side but they were not burnt and tasted good. It wasn’t overly seasoned. My grits tho! They were creamy with a sweet taste. “Good service, the server was hustling which I really appreciated, food was excellent, the fact they include bread and soup or salad with the entree makes it very reasonable pricing. Wedge salad and Tomato / Burrata were embellished with attention to details. Steak was tender and cooked to perfection. Chilean sea bass was moist and succulent. Roasted chicken had crispy skin. It was tender and sauced nicely Butter Cake is a MUST. Great meal. Great wine list.“

“We had a private event in their private room earlier this week that was anticipated to have 26 attendees. The room was set up awkwardly in the fact that they made one long table even though it made all the chairs way too close to each other. The food was pretty good, especially our desserts and entrees. The service was also fast. When they brought out each course, they had several people bring out the food so the whole party got their dishes within a couple of minutes of each other. They also validate your parking in the attached garage but you should note that it's only for two hours so you may need to pay a small amount after the validation.“
