“My husband and I always dine at Dobbin House while visiting Gettysburg, which is conveniently close to outside of Harrisburg. The food, atmosphere, and service have always been excellent. We've been coming here at least biannually since before we got married. We typically order steak and crab cakes. The entrees come with delicious homemade warm bread, side salads, and baked potatoes. However, I would NOT recommend this restaurant for families with young children. Our 9 y/o was so excited for a "fancy dinner" and got dressed up. And our 1.5 y/o was very well-behaved in her high-chair. She was occupied with books, toys, coloring, etc. But a few other patrons were visibly and audibly judgmental of us having kids there. They were also rude to our server, who was lovely. We heard them scolding her about how long it took for their wine to arrive (which wasn't long). I worked in the service industry for years so I took notice of this. I'm still recommending it, because it's not the establishment's fault, but wanted to warn other parents that this isn't a child-friendly place, and the patrons can be very uppity. I know it's considered "fine dining," but our children are well-behaved and respectful, and we still deserved a nice night out. We spent around $160 and left feeling like we weren't welcome at all on our first experience of family vacation. It was such a disappointment because we have always loved going here. It was very off-putting. I could understand if our toddler was being loud, but we know how to handle her in public, and honestly the guys who looked like they just ended a round of golf were louder than she was! I forgot to take photos because I was so annoyed by the loud remarks about us having the audacity to bring our little ones there. They still get 5 stars because every other experience we've had there as a couple has been wonderful! Just wanted to give parents notice.”

“Went for brunch and absolutely loved it! I got a smoked salmon bagel, bloody mary, and their amazing dry martini with blue cheese olives. Couldn't recommend it more!”

“–50 The bar is very nostalgic. I ate in the restaurant section and it has a throwback vibe to it. The service was good and so was the food. My only complaint is the red skinned mashed potatoes seemed to be microwaved. I got the mushroom chicken with a cream sauce and it was excellent. Definitely a cool stop to grab a pint and a bite to eat.”

“We were visiting Gettysburg and decided to check out Mason Dixon for brunch on Sunday. Our crew had the most amazing breakfast. We had beignets and then eggs Benedict with pulled pork. It was nothing short of fantastic!! Emily was a fantastic waitress and took amazing care of us. Meeting with the owner was an extra touch with great customer service. He was taking time to greet almost every group that came in to eat. Highly recommend coming to enjoy all that they have to offer with great food, drinks and beautiful atmosphere. We will be back again for sure.”

We’ve eaten at restaurants with 5 star reviews on our trip but honestly the food we ordered and took back to our room from here was some of the best. The burger was thick and cooked perfectly! Fish tacos great flavor and my son loved his wings. Wait staff was very helpful and packed my to-go great with all the fixings.”

“I came in and sat the bar. Not only was the food and drinks AMAZING. The service was above and beyond. I was there solo celebrating my bday week, they were so friendly and welcoming. It was such a great experience I went back the second evening. The owners and staff were so nice and made me feel like I was there with old friends. “The food was probably the worst I've ever seen at a buffet. my wife is currently sick in the bathroom, im probably not far behind her. Only a few items were edible and now we are regretting them as well. Staff was average, building is beautiful. Do not eat the food. There is also a water warning from the DEP. Do not drink, freeze, boil or let water stand. the food is sitting over steam trays. They only post the warning sign in the bathroom. Wonder why. good luck eating there.”

“What a wonderful find this restaurant was. We were hungry & tired after a long day driving & our server, Bryan, made us feel right at home. The food was fabulous & a step above regular BBQ. Delicious margaritas & to die for crispy glazed brussel sprouts & hush puppies with chipolte sauce were all professionally served by Bryan. Add on great beef brisket and you have a restaurant worthy of 5 stars. We will stop again next time we are in the area.”

“A great little place to get out of the heat and have a great bite to eat. It’s so hot out today and the cold Club Sandwich was perfect! Sierra our server was prompt and kept checking back on the 3 of us, our granddaughter said her sandwich was delicious and my husband had the cheesesteak and pasta salad. The restaurant is really clean and sporty with baseball memories. Absolutely recommend it!”

“We had our first visit on 1/11/25, it definitely will NOT, be our last! My husband never had crepes, he is now a huge fan! Everything was amazing, I got the Spiced Chai Tea with the Strawberries and Cream Crepe. It was so big I couldn't finish. My husband got a coffee and Little Piggy Crepe, he's in love and already planning a day trip just to go to The Cottage Creperie! You gals Rock !”

“My twin sister and I frequent Gettysburg at least once a year, if not more, for our girl trips. It is our happy place. Bantam is our first and last stop when we arrive and leave town. Legitimately the BEST coffee we have ever had! The menu, no matter the season, is so unique and delicious!! The employees and owners are all so lovely. The atmosphere, the energy, the drinks…you cannot beat it. Wish we lived closer so we could enjoy it more often!”

“I work in Gettysburg and our office gets carryout once a week. I ordered the cheesesteak special wrap with a side of fried mushrooms. The food took a little longer than they quoted on the phone, but it was worth the wait. Everything was hot and fresh, we will definitely be ordering again.”

“The place is in a laundromat with limited seating. The food is amazing though, it's definitely one of those places where the food is elevated above it's atmosphere. Highly recommend but be warned, they aren't playing around when it comes to the spice. My favorite is the tacos or the spicy fried fish.”

“I love this Rita’s because it’s so convenient but the past 2 times I’ve come here they’ve given me the wrong flavored ice and it’s upsetting because I keep spending money and get what I didn’t even order. I went tonight and the guy was working alone and very busy and I understand things happen, but I ordered root beer ice and got the cola ice, which was a treat for my dad who unfortunately didn’t like the cola (rightfully so as he was wanting root beer). Just disappointing.”

“Stopped into the outlets to see a couple different stores. This place was a pleasant surprise. Tried a few samples and they were all good. The Edible undies was delicious but I settled on the lemonade flavored bottle. It made for an interesting evening. Our party also bought the apple pie, watermelon and another one I don't remember. “Chopsticks express has been my go to Chinese restaurant since 2019, their food is always great, u have never had a problem with it. The employees are so kind, and always take pride in their work! I recommend this place to all my friends, and often take my friends and family here if they want Chinese.”

“Stopped on our way from Lancaster to West Virginia, this is a gem of a Coffee place and Café!! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was outstanding!! Highly recommend adding this to your trip if you are around the Gettysburg area, and the welcome center where the café is located is public and you can hang out there and do work or enjoy their Wi-Fi. Live music plays first Saturday at 11 AM, with a farmers market just outside the welcome center and Café.”

“I drove an hour to Gettysburg yesterday frantic to get to Michael Kors to look for an exact same of purse of mine that had been stolen. I had been dealing with MK customer service which was 0 help and went to Clarksburg and all they said was sorry that happened to you but we don't have that purse. When I got to the Gettysburg MK outlet I was quickly greeted by all staff. I spotted my purse and was thrilled. when my friend told them what happened they were apologetic (they did not need to be) and they let me know that they were capable of calling store to store, checking inventory or shipping from another store to my house free of charge. Thank you Gettysburg MK staff for being so attentive and taking the time to make sure I got phenomenal customer service!!”

“Lovely atmosphere. The bartenders were great and all of the patrons had great camaraderie. My boyfriend and I were the youngest there by a long shot, but people were welcoming us in and having friendly conversations with us, which was awesome. Id recommend getting a flight first to decide what you like. I ended up liking just about every cider. The back porch was WARM even on a cold night. The live music was great too.”

“The person I support through Penn-Mar Human Services loves coffee, so he created a tour of small business coffee shops. He said “Everything here is perfect! Their iced mocha & cannoli gets 5-stars!” He also wanted to note the friendly staff took a photo with him, they have fun decor, lots of delicious pastries, a large selection of iced, hot, & frozen beverages + food! The vibe is totally peaceful & friendly. Lots of items for sale from local authors, local artists, and other vendors. There is plenty of seating on two levels, an upstairs play area, and beautiful outdoor seating & tables. We’ll be back! Shout-out to Olivia, Piper, & Michelle for welcoming us for our first visit!”

“Great vibe and energy! Girls are attentive and work hard. The brewer is a good guy too. They have a great NA option for those who don’t partake in the sauce and that’s wonderful to have that option. They can offer you a can on the spot or 4 pack to take home.

Lots of sours on the menu that looked tasty - I didn’t have but maybe I’ll try one day. Go check them out!”

“Went to dinner Sunday nite. Had a great server Stephanie. Good was good. When we were leaving we ask to speak to the manager on duty to tell her what a great server we had. The girl that had sat us came back and said the manager was to busy doing inventory but she told her the reason we wanted to see her. We believe in telling management when the have a good person working for them but obviously the manager needs to take lessons from her server! Very rude!”
