“Ok so it was our first time going here and we just drove from Jersey where we reside and ate here.It took longer than expected to get our food but it was well worth it . Terell the owners 19yr old son showed up and showed of with great costumer service ,excellent food and yeah he put the presentation down on our platters. “This place is a vibe! Black owned brunch spot. I found this place thru Google search. There’s free parking too. Service was excellent, our server was Sean who was very personable & friendly. As a matter of fact all the wait staff was friendly. We had “the status” cocktail that packed a punch- really delicious, served w/ edible flower & strawberry. My party had Cheeseteak & chicken cheesesteak rolls, chicken & waffles and shrimp platter w/ steamed vegetables. Taste & presentation 9 out of 10. I wanted the shrimps to be a lil bit bigger, but they were delicious!!! We will definitely be returning to try more of the all day brunch menu.“

It was still when we he got home with my BBQ Salmon with rice and beans, greens and candied yams.Everything individually has flavor. The rice is cooked just rice; not mushy or crunchy. Great portion size of salmon and not drowning in sauce. The greens seasoned and not spicy. I have had greens from other restaurants where they make the greens spicy. It was a pleasant surprise not to have a “kick” to my greens.The candied yams were nice and soft and now drowning in syrup. Just the way I like it.I look forward to trying something else on the menu.“

I also love that her food isn’t too oily. Some Jamaican restaurants will have good food but use too much oil. For the review that said they filled the large compartment with sweet potatoes, looks like you ordered weird. You get 2 sides. Rice is a side! You have to order rice if you want it and it goes in the large compartment with your meat on top. If you don’t order rice, one of your sides will go in the large compartment with the meat on top. That’s how ALL or mostJamaican restaurants serve their platters!! If you’re familiar with Jamaican cuisine, you know to order rice as a side. I seldom order food for delivery, but it's Valentine's Day and also my mother's birthday, and I just wanted to make things easy this morning (like not having to cook or clean dishes). Since I couldn't sleep, I started scrolling through DoorDash and came across Amari's. The rave reviews attracted me, as well as it's close proximity to my home, so I knew the food would arrive quick and fresh (and it did). I ordered pancakes, French toast, home fries, and scrambled eggs - - enough for my household of three to share. I knew I was in for a treat based on the aroma coming from the bag when it arrived. The pancakes, French toast, and scrambled eggs were all delicious, but the home fries were my favorite part. I'm finicky about the way my potatoes are cooked and seasoned, but I would happily eat them again (and again). We will certainly keep Amari's in mind for a future meal!“

“This food really made me smile. I'm always skeptical about soul food spots because the mac fails to be cheesy and the veggies lack flavor but this place did not disappoint. I had the shrimp and my husband had the fish and I must say I properly enjoyed my food. The only change I would've asked for was to cook the cabbage a little shorter because I prefer mines to be a bit more crunchy but even without that I properly enjoyed them. It also heats up well which is important for me because I can never eat all of my food. I would definitely recommend eating here if you enjoy properly seasoned food.“
