“Yet another hidden gem in Philly. I came in for the first time today by chance and immediately felt so so so welcomed into the space. It is much smaller of a space than Madis Coffee Roasters (Twisted Grounds has only a few small tables to sit), but the staff is equally as kind, friendly, talkative, and enjoyable to be around. You can quickly tell that the team here has a great rapport with each other, and it makes the atmosphere comfortable and fun to be in. They have super cute merch and engaging conversations. I'm excited for this to be one of my regular haunts in Philly. The manager runs this place like a well-oiled machine.“

“Lovely lovely neighborhood cafe with yummy options otherwise scarce nearby. Favorites so far have been the pandan waffle, taro boba, the banh mi combo, but this place is always on my mind to try much more of the menu! The boba drink sizes are also much more generous for the price compared to others.“

“The place is super cozy. The dessert options are just right and the gluten-free options are so delish. The cortado was yum with latte-art; super special. I was passing by Media and craved something sweet so I found this place by chance. The owner is fabulous, she’s friendly and super nice to chat with. I wish her lots of successful years here. I wish i had this place closer to me.“

“I ordered some treats for my mom it was a miscommunication with delivery service so she didn’t receive it, but holy cannoli contacted me and cleared everything up and offered to send my mom treats on them which I thought was really thoughtful. Great customer service thank you so much. I appreciate your attention and kindness! Thank you, Khristine“

“I lived in Seattle for almost two decades and will admit to being a bit of a coffee shop snob. The Nook hits so many of my high points. Extremely good locally roasted coffee (in-house!). Amazing baked goods. The cocoa coffee bread must be tried, but leave me a slice! Great staff. If I ever move out of the neighborhood, I'll journey to the Nook for a great cup and bite.“

“I ate here in 2023 on vacay and had to come back to Philadelphia just to eat here a few months ago. Honestly, eating here is THE reason I flew back to Philly. Vegetable combo and the salad are the best. Will be back as often as I have time to fly back out. Thank you Almaz.“

“Came for espresso and sat at the espresso bar. All the gentlemen at the bar were pleasant to chat with. The espresso tasted great. It’s roasted in house and the quality of the espresso machine makes the 5 star quality beverage. True Italian experience.“

“This place is so cool! I don’t drink but I think it’s really unique to blend a coffee shop with a whiskey bar. For those like me, they have a ton of coffee options and non alcoholic options that feel unique and special. Great cozy vibes inside too.“

“Cute place, amazing atmosphere, wonderful soundtrack, unfortunately is super small (if you are in a group probably this is not your place to eat). We sat outside in a morning of summer, but it was super good and windy. They have a large options to eat and each picture makes our choices more difficult.
The food was great (panini caprese and prosciutto croissants).
I just don’t give 5 stars because the customer service was ok. They could be kinder to customers“

“The food here is delicious, however, there is often not much of a selection. I understand that they want everything to be fresh and maybe they are still trying to figure out how much of certain items to make, but the last time I was there they had no biscuits (after they didn't have them last time I stopped either) so they offered us brioche, which we accepted. Then they only made one sandwich after we had waited 15 minutes. We left since we didn't have time to wait for them to make another. Then today I stop to pick up just plain biscuits to take home and as I'm at the counter waiting to order, someone calls the cafe and buys the last two biscuits over the phone. The coffee is very good, we like the cold brew, vanilla latte and cortado. Plus the biscuits are amazing if you manage to get some. They do make very good miniature pastel de nata as well, which you can't get just anywhere. Overall the cafe is good, maybe it's just going through growing pains.“

“Had the Spring Fling coffee today, IT WAS INCREDIBLE! Never have I had coffee like this. It was robust but mild, with hints of lavender, thyme and pink peppercorns. Absolutely a must have for those that go regularly. I live in NJ so sadly I won’t be here often and I’m sad about that.“

“Loved the vibes here. Super local and was very busy immediately when they opened. Staff were super nice, and the coffee and baked goods were just lovely. Had a maple oat coffee with a cherry cheese danish and a tofu scramble breakfast burrito. Will have to stop in again on my next visit to Philly for their cupcakes!“
“Went to the Dawn Staley event last night, it was very organized and well run! Dawn was amazing. Will definitely attend more author events.“
“Going to a brewery at 8 in the morning to grab terrific coffee - nothing better! The atmosphere of Wirlybird welcomes you immediately. The baristas are super friendly and the coffee (specifically americanos!) are delicious. It is a great place to go to socialize especially if you have people in your group who don’t drink - options of alcohol or coffee include everyone. You can also bring in your own food or buy from the food trucks. Awesome place with awesome vibes!“

“Awesome little coffee shop to try! I’m usually the type to want coffee around 5pm and instead of going to the Starbucks around the corner, I ended here giving this shop a shot. I don’t regret it one bit. They had lots of food and drink options! Staff was friendly and prices are reasonable.“

“Excellent coffee and small but awesome selection of pastries. Unique, funky, cool vibe with a great selection of jazz music playing and LPs on sale up front. It's dark inside, dimly lit. After 4pm they have a cool happy hour and sell wine in the evenings, and have a live music room in the back.
Great coffee, snacks, vibes, friendly service.“

“Great spot! Convenient location. Solid menu. Cool space for meeting a friend or doing some work. I love that they have matcha - and so many varieties ! I no longer drink coffee - matcha only - and it’s hard to find good quality delicious matcha / tea options. Big fan! Have been here a few times recently and highly recommend. Most recently I got a matcha latte and a croissant - both of which were very good.“

“Great coffee, but don’t count too much on the wifi. At multiple locations I’ve experienced not being able to connect on arrival, and well meaning staff resetting the router which disrupts everyone who is connected. Of course if you’re just chillaxing this is not a big deal.“

“I remember where I was when I had my first cup of coffee. I was nine years old and on an overnight train heading East from Berlin. My mother was missing and my father was slumped over in his seat, the laudanum having kicked in shortly after we left the brick and glass monster of a station. The rattling rail car, one of the old GDR builds, was the kind where the toilet had no running water, just a trap door onto the endless rail below.A bear of a man man opened the door, peering in through eyes barely peeking out over the bird's nest of a beard, and saw my father, unconscious, ensconced in some unknowable bliss, and then turned to me. Kofe? He grumbled at me, I nodded yes, silent, not knowing what he meant. He took the mark notes from my small hand and passed me back a steaming cup of a brown liquid.I sniffed and recoiled, like a cat sniffing at the sour notes of a citrus fruit. I turned to hand it back to the old man but he was gone. I was left alone, trundling aloneinto an undiscovered country, kept company only by an unconscious failure and a cup of coffee.Anyway this place has a nice view of City Hall and the coffee is good. Nice place to bring tourists.“

“This place is appropriately known for their breakfast sandwiches. I got the Costmo, a breakfast sandwich with seitan bacon, tofu egg, jalapeño, avocado and vegan mayo on an everything Philly muffin. For the uninitiated, a Philly muffin is not a muffin. It’s more of a bread. This was one of my favorite things I ate in Philadelphia, and I highly recommend coming to one of their locations. My partner really enjoyed the Grizzli, a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. It had vegan maple butter and was too sweet for me, but he thought it was great. Can’t wait to return! Their coffee was pretty good too.“
