THE CHICKEN WAS IN A SWEET THAI CHILI SAUCE THAT WASN’T DRENCHED IN SAUCE, YET HAD THE RIGHT AMOUNT…. THE MAC & CHEESE & COLLARDS TASTED LIKE HOME!!!…. THIS WAS REAL COMFORT FOOD THAT WASN’T SKIMPED ON OR LACKING!!!… AS A MATTER OF FACT, I’M ORDERING AGAIN TONIGHT!!!… I HAD ENOUGH FOR TWO DAYS UNTIL MY GREEDY GRANDSON CAME THE NEXT DAY & SAID, ‘NA NA, WHAT’S IN THE PLATTER?… CAN I HAVE SOME?’…. THERE WENT MY NEXT DAY’S DINNER!!!.. BUT DON’T WORRY, I’M ORDERING AGAIN TONIGHT & WILL HIDE IT!!!’??. BUT ORDER YOURS, REALLY GOOD FOOD!!!!??. (NICE LADY, I PRESUME OWNER WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE!!!)“

“Came in to town ordered take out , our first time eating there, food was very good especially the mac and cheese and fried fish, my only complaint, i ordered just the fish and no sides i was told i get 3 pieces of fish, i only got all the way home and it was 2 lil pieces of small fish, it was good though but i paid $20 for that? i also had the turkey wing platter it was good but i can’t stand eating big turkey wings that look like they was injected with something , them was some big ole turkey wings. had to trash one. My fiancé got the wing dings and fries he said the wings was pretty good.“

“Yesterday was my first time coming here and when I say everything exceeded my expectations! The salmon rolls ? babyyyy they were the best! I was going to go back today for more but they’re closed, so I’ll be back Sunday! The food was made with love and care and you can tell! That’s so hard to find in Philly nowadays. The crab cakes were delicious too! The service was amazing as well. I was in the car eating and the chef still checked to see if I enjoyed the food. 10/10 recommend. “Nile Cafe in Germantown offers affordable vegan Soul food with big flavor! The modest interior is lightly decorated and sparsely seated. There were maybe six two-chaired tables. Outdoor seating options are available. Walking in, locals cycled in, ordered, waited, and cycled out constantly. All the food, served in to-go containers, was fantastic. The duck in gravy and the jerk chicken stole the show before we had the dessert. After being impressed, we dug deeper into the menu. The coffee ice cream was super creamy and the cake was moist and decadent. Nile Cafe is special. Although there isn't much on the menu we didn't try, the food was definitely worth a revisit. I might just stop in for dessert when I'm around.“

“Was at a men's conference for the Keystone Jurisdiction of the C.O.G.IC. Was going to meet up with the other men. Wanted a nice breakfast, and that is what I got. Ordered pancakes and eggs easy over. Took a little bit, but it was worth the wait. Pancakes were nice and fluffy. Had my doubts before I placed the order, but once received and tasted it. All doubts were gone.

“I had the turkey wings with gravy, yams, and collard greens. The turkey wings were good, but the collard green was a little bit salted for my taste. The yams that I had were not potato but looked to be mash.
Overall, I enjoyed the meal. Maybe the next time things will be much different.“

Items that I had baked turkey wings (, mac n cheese, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes with gravy, and dressing. All were good. They need to serve a bread. My bestfriend had the fried fish and it was soooo good. I wouldn't recommend the greens...they were missing something besides hot sauce.

Great to see a black owned and operated place thriving. Im from Indiana and I will be back.

Tips: It's a takeout kind of spot...there's 2 tables, but not much room. They take cards. Not much parking“

“The food here is really good. I had fried chicken wings. They were literally the best wings I've had in a long time. They came out so hot. My group enjoyed their food. We had a lot of stuff and everyone said everything was really good. The only thing someone in my group was disappointed with was the buffalo dip.. they wanted more. Definitely will be going back.

“BEST SOUL FOOD IN PHILLY !!! the entire menu is so mfn fire and the prices are extremely reasonable. Portions do not disappoint and flavors are ideal. I grew up in the south and have tried soul food around Philly and have repeatedly been disappointed until I found soul boat. I was apprehensive at first as it is owned by an asian family but they’re cooking is VALID and could put a lot of y’all’s aunties and grandmas to shame ?? the fried fish is so fresh and the gravy is drinkable. “5 star experience and service. I was very excited to come to this black owned restaurant in Philadelphia. It was me and my partner 2 year anniversary so we thought we would enjoy the live Jazz show as well. As soon as we walked it we were greeted with by warm smiling faces which made us feel very welcome. The ambience was amazing and decor was very unique We arrive about 30 minutes before the show and headed over to the bar to grab a drink before the show , the cocktails were very good and the bartender was very friendly and attentive. The bar is very small , all the seats were taken so we had to stand. Once we were seated in the jazz lounge area by our waiter he suggested somethings and went over the specials. We started off with the devil eggs and cornbread. For our entrees I had the Fried Chicken and my partner had the prime rib. Everything came out quickly and at the perfect temperature. The manager, host, waiter, and the band were phenomenal. They were even nice enough to give us a shout out and complementary dessert for our anniversary. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. The hospitality here is exceptional.“

“So the ladies at the back are great. They don't speak much English, so if you go speaking English they won't really understand. But, the man in the front speaks English.

Now the man at the front he appears nice, but I think he makes up prices based off how he is feeling at the moment. Because I normally get the something each time I go. Down to the size of the platter, and the food in the platter. So the price should be the same, because I get the same thing each time I go. Some days I pay $18.00, some days I pay $20.00 and recently I paid $22.00. When I asked him why it was a different prices, he got very spicy with me. That was the last time I went there.

My boyfriend is Haitian, so the next time I go back he will be with me. If he can't go with me I won't be go.“
