“My fiancé and I just left here and we are in a food coma! All around such a great experience! The staff was super friendly and the cook was super awesome and loaded up our plates. This is one of the only sit down restaurants that I know of that are open until midnight on a Saturday night. Very impressed!“

“Absolutely fantastic. The red cabbage aoup with dill and sour creme was spectacular. The fire roasted chicken was absolutely fantastic. An explosion of flavors not seen around this area. The food presentation is fenomenal and elegant. Food temperature and moist is perfect and after taste of the entire experience lingers for a good while. The selection of wines an cocktails go along oerfectly with the Entrees.Nice selections of spanish wines.. Desserts are rich and warm. The Pear Almond Tart was perfectly cooked and warmed. The baked Alaska with the oven toasted merengue reveals a nice vanilla icecream in its core. Highly recommended.. Make sure to stop by and say Hi to owner and Chef Eric. Wonderful experience. On a scale of 1 to 10, .i'lll rate this a 20. Hands down the best in the area. 5 stars Haute Cuisine.“

“My wife and I consider ourselves foodies.. We often find ourselves disappointed when visiting restaurants in Pittsburgh. However, this was not the case when visiting Jillians. We were more than impressed. Jillian's can compete with some of the best restaurants in Shadyside and downtown Pittsburgh. The menu was exceptional. The dishes were creative, and the quality of ingredients was impressive. Our server (Jillian) was authentic, pleasant, charming, and informative. It is refreshing to have a dining experience like this. This place is a diamond in the rough. We will be recommending this to our family and friends.Parking: We had no problem parking on a Thursday.“

“KIND BUSINESS ALERT! Carl & Lisa run an incredible restaurant. The food is outstanding. Portions are large and worth every penny. The variety will make you want to return again & again. The cabbage roll is wonderful. Perfect! Very small space to eat in. They have limited hours. Owned by a retired police office, hence the name! Support local businesses. I'm from Chicago, and these are some of the best periogies I've ever had!“

“Where can I begin… the food was delicious! Friendly service and real conversation. My family and I are from Indiana visiting for the weekend and we wanted to try Grandma B’s. Went on Saturday morning and it was so impressive we said “We’re coming back tomorrow before we leave!” Only to return Sunday morning and they had standing room only! Sadly my party and I were just going to head back to Indiana, hungry when they called us back in and said”We’re going to make room for you all up top.” They proceeded to prepare another area upstairs to accommodate our party! Hands down best food in service in Pittsburgh!“

“Stopped by for a few, and I wasn't disappointed, I had one house mixed drink along with a few different beers. The beers and mixed drink were spot on and very well done. I sat at the bar and ordered the house special taco nachos. It was huge, very flavorful, and priced very well. The drink was the Tumeric Elixer.Beers, O mama, Vodoo love child. I would go back and also recommend this to all craft beer enthusiasts. This should be a stop on anyone's craft brew tour. There isn't a waitress staff. You must order at the bar. if you've been here before you would know this, but if you're just coming here for the first time, please be prepared to order at the bar.“
“The experience started with the warm welcome from the staff. From the security to the bartender, they were all friendly and pleasant. The food was really good and seemed to be fairly priced for the area, although I still feel the area is overpriced in general. The process of getting into the venue was easy and organized. The space was a beautifully quaint and well-used venue. The crowd for a sellout was the perfect size and it was not overcrowded. The acoustics of the venue were very excellent and the price of tickets was phenomenal. If there is a downside, it is the parking, however it is free in the evening, which beats $40-$50 at most other venues. I will certainly be back just for the experience. Amazing work!“

“I visited Bar Botanico roughly 1 month ago. I entered the building and almost turned around out the door because it looked crowded. The host politely shouted out "we have room for two" so my partner and I returned back. He let us know he could get our drink order while we waited for a two top table to clear which he assured us would happen soon. My partner has severe peanut, tree nut and shellfish food allergies and the host asked us immediately about our allergies. While my partner got beer (allergy comfort zone), they ensured my drinks were made in a separate shaker and let him know that he could try them if he wanted since they made them separate and left out any allergens. This was a lovely place for someone with allergies and it was really unexpected and wonderful. I will definitely be back. Oh I forgot to add the drinks were delicious, I enjoyed watching the bartenders work. We did not eat here so I can't speak to the food but very happy with everything else we experienced.Dietary restrictions: Very allergy friendly/accommodating.“

“We got visit here after going to the conservatory. It was a Friday and there was about a 30 minute wait and about a 30 minute wait for food. We gladly sat at the bar and ordered from a variety of mule drinks. Angry mule and the cranberry mule are so refreshing. We ordered the cod sandwich and fish taco. The portions were definitely large and delicious. Will definitely visit here again!!“

“Flavors change often. I've come several times and always see something different. I personally love getting the Extreme, which is their version of a DQ blizzard. You can choose what base from any of the available flavors that day and add toppings!! Usually most places do vanilla as the base.Previously, I got an Extreme with a Butter Pecan base mixed with Oreo and cookie dough pieces. That was unusual and tasty, but I also highly recommend adding their new brownie cookie dough bites! That really adds something extra. Last time, I got an Extreme with vanilla ice cream mixed with Oreo, cookie dough, and brownie dough bites. Definitely yummy. Overall, I definitely keep coming back. Also it's cash only! But worth it.“

“The whole family really loved this restaurant. Quality ingredients made for some fantastic food. The fried zucchini was awesome. We typically order it anywhere it's on the menu and this may have been the best we've ever had. Prices were completely appropriate for quality and portions. “Alta Via is definitely a favorite place of mine now. Tonight was my third time coming, and our server Eddie was absolutely amazing. He saved our night! (We had a horrible experience at another resturaunt, so we left and came to Alta Via in Market Square!) He was so attentive to our needs and really went above and beyond! Food is always delicious, drinks are amazing and the focaccia bread they bring out is to die for. Highly recommend! And ask for Eddie at the Market Square location!“

“As others have said, the Fancy Veggie Burger was easily one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had. It’s hard to describe the flavor but it was absolutely delicious. Also the gluten free bun was perfect and I’m glad they offer it as many places don’t provide these alternative bun options. Fries cooked in veggie oil were superb and fresh and the rhubarb cocktail was like a slightly boozie lemonade making the meal even more enjoyable.“

“We stopped for dinner 430ish on a Friday, the place was very clean and friendly. The menu was a specialized menu with a bunch of customer recommended #1s, it was very hard to choose what meals we would be selecting off the menu due to the whole menu was packed with excellent dinner choices. I settled for the Meatloaf special off the house special board (Amazing), and my wife chose the Chicken Picata (Amazing), these are two of most recommended dinner choices by the house and a few friends of ours. We both ordered the House Merlot with dinner which was a good choice on our part (perfect) along with the wine the house places a large flip top bottle of ice cold water on your table for you to drink at your will. Paired with our meals were a side of mashed potatoes and cooked carrots with a side salad (all were perfect). If all of this amazing meal wasn't enough, we had to order the Zattola homemade ice cream over the house made brownie for dessert... everything was way to good to not finish... We left this place absolutely stuffed, and pleasantly pleased with our experience... one side note I would have to say if you chose to go there, please have a conversation with your servers and staff, we spoke to an older gentlemen who I still don't believe he is in his 70s, he was one the most kind, and personable staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant, he made us feel like family and like he knew us for ever, he stated how the food is prepared and the history of the recipes, you could tell he absolutely loves this place along with the owners and he firmly believes in the quality this place provides. The food was definitely enough for us to go back, but just having the small interactions with the gentleman makes me feel that we will absolutely go back... Im sure anyone who has been to this place and has interacted with this gentlemen could probably attest to what I'm saying, as he spoke to everyone... the world needs more people like him in it!!! Well done Zattolas well done!!!“

“Was in town visiting some military buddies and I stopped at this bar just by happenstance and I could not be happier I met the bartender there and she was an absolute doll she made everything so comfy and fun and also made an absolutely amazing tasting Bloody Mary! I tried the sample platter of appetizers and was not disappointed the portion size was just the way I like it way too big so I can take home leftovers LOL I got to enjoy some IC light on tap and I really hope I get to go back there someday! Definitely a gem“
“Thank you to Chef Nick and his amazing staff for the fabulous food for our daughter’s (Karina and Brenna) wedding on Saturday. Our guests are singing your praises. “The best food at a wedding that I’ve EVER had!” That was the quote of the weekend. THANK YOU for making their day so special.“

“My Wife and I have been to pretty much every high-end Steak restaurant in Pittsburgh and the Vandal consistently has the best Steak we have had. We had the Tomahawk Ribeye for two and it was extremely tender, succulent and tasty. I believe the Vandal's ability to consistently provide the best steak experience is due to the Sous Vide cooking of the steak initially, with a grill or sear before service. And don't forget about perfect twice fried frites! Everything was great as well as great service.“

“I've lived near here for 9 years and finally made it to this place. A great spot in Aspinwall. We were able to get a reservation with short notice on a Friday night. Ambiance here is really nice, most of the dining area is outdoors (watch out for lantern flies). Our waiter was great, very attentive and friendly. They have a great cocktail list. I had the Frontporch Burger, it was great, I liked that it was served on focaccia. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend a visit.“

“Everytime we head to Pittsburgh, we eat brunch/lunch at The Lot in Oakmont; the food is always delicious. They have a large patio that has fire pits and heaters for the winter. The Lot is kid-friendly which is great, because we are often walking around with a baby while our family members eat! I love their beignets, which are warm and melt in your mouth!Dietary restrictions: We have two vegetarians in our family and one vegan; they love The Lot too!Parking: There are a few free areas to park right in front of The Lot.Kid-friendliness: Large, open patio to walk or let the kids move about!“
“This place was well worth the drive to the new location in Penn Hills. The big Victorian house allowed us to have a party of twelve in a homey setting. Excellent Brussel Sprouts and Bruschetta for appetizers. We all enjoyed our various pasta dishes. The friendly staff worked patiently with our gluten free and dairy free restrictions. The Beans and Greens were the best and two of us ordered more at the end to take home. Bring your own bottle with a $6 per guest (even if we didn’t drink). We highly recommend this place!“

“Our first visit. Very pleased. Nicely made cocktails. The loaf of fresh buckwheat focaccia with herbed olive oil was addicting. I had a tasty seafood linguine loaded with shellfish, calamari, shrimp, and fish in a mild white wine sauce. My wife enjoyed several small plates; the finocchiona and duck prosciutto followed by the shrimp. She liked all of them. Kate, our server, was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu options. It's definitely a good choice for a really good meal.“

“This was our first time visiting Blue Sky, but we don't plan for it to be our last! Between us, we had the k-town ribs appetizer, the soup of the day, which was beef chili with cheddar, and chimichurri steak tacos. The fresh, innovative food was very good and served promptly. The service was outstanding. Our server was friendly, super knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely interested in seeing that our needs were met. “Foods great bartenders are great. Quick fast but accurate good customer service. With delicious drinks and food. Honestly I was told the blue lagoon was really good and it's vodka blue curaçao lemonade it was a very good drink just wish it had more lemonade flavor to it. And as far as the raspberry long island goes it's perfectly delicious and scrumptious. Their seasoned fries and Mac attack bowls Cajun shrimp was quite delicious. Although personally I might ask for more Cajun next time. I love to be able to see it in the delicious creamy white sauce they pair it with also the shrimp in this delicious delicacy is fried. “We had our sons 150 person baptism at Just in Thyme and not only were we blown away but so were our guests! Justin was incredibly easy to work with and so thoughtful about every detail. We loved that there was no set catering menu but instead Justin worked with us to create a menu that matched our budget as well as our food preferences. He was thinking about our guests and since we had so many kids he suggested having a kids moving projected towards the end of lunch to help keep them all entertained. He even suggested and setup a room across from the bathroom for all our nursing moms!! These small details were HUGE day of and made for an incredible event. Not to mention the food was truly top notch and felt more high-end restaurant than catered lunch. We will definitely be using Just in Thyme for our future events and we know our friends and family will be too!“

“Great neighborhood gem here. If you have a hankering for a Pittsburgh style fish sandwich, this is the place to visit if you pass by.Friendly folks, warm atmosphere, and great beers and outstanding fish sandwiches.Ordered two fish sandwiches three quarters pound of fish on each sandwich(you will not be hungry after eating those of these) and there’s definitely enough left over for a third. Served steaming hot, crisp batter, and tender fish on a fresh hoagie bun. Tartar sauce was very tasty as well - with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and yes a strong dash of hot sauce. Definitely got my fried fish fix (5 out of 5). If were to provide any critique maybe the bun could have been toasted a bit more to hold up to the condiments - however, while a bit challenging to manage eating like a sandwich, entire time I was eating the sandwich I had a big smile on my face. Will be back again for the fish!!! …. And maybe the sample a few other things. ( the pictures do not accurately capture the size and make it look a bit smaller that it actually is )Outstanding beer selection, see picture for the entire menu - I sampled the Troeg’s Grand Cacao Stout and was happy I did.Highly recommend this place. If you are passing by this neighborhood definitely check it out.“
