“Great food and atmosphere“

“After reading the review from Helen Van, I was concerned when we sat down and learned our waitress was Megan L.

Thankfully we had an entirely different experience.

Megan was one of the nicest servers we've encountered in any of our restaurant visits.
She was attentive. She was pleasant.

And our food also came out in a timely manner. We didn't feel rushed and we didn't feel forgotten about. Appetizers. Full meals. Dessert. All delivered perfectly orchestrated.

We had the most pleasant experience and we would go back to the Highbridge House, maybe even calling ahead to see if Megan L was available.

Food was amazing. Drinks were cold.

“Wonderful people who are welcoming and warm. Atmosphere is different from anything you've been at full of charm and character. It felt like going over a family members house for dinner! Prices were unbelievable as well as the portions! The Cajun broccoli Alfredo was thick and fresh as was my salad. The sauce was definitely made from scratch! Ate here during a work trip will definitely be back“

“One of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. The meat and cheese they used, whatever they did, they do it extremely well. Our waitress was super nice and it’s a cute little place. What people call the “dated” places are so often some the best food places in the area. It’s a hidden treasure in Scranton.“

I had a steak and it was done perfect. Very good portions. You won't leave hungry.

Prices are very fair for what you get.
It was packed with customers and the waiting time was still short.

“When my Jeep grenaded it’s serpentine belt I pulled into the owners lot where I was greeted by Don and Vicky, they looked at my car, insisted I come in to stay warm and even gave me a few pints to take the sting of breaking down away! “One of the Greatest places in the NEPA region for food, music and events. They hold a great open mic event every week which is a hot pot for local musicians. The staff are cool , friendly and solid. The ownership is good people and it's a great little stage with big energy. Stop on by , something is always going on.“

“I won a gift card to this restaurant from a raffle at Dunmore Elementary. My wife & I went tonight. It was a Wednesday night so we were not expecting a crowd. There was a decent group of people there for a Wednesday. We sat ourselves at a table off to the side in the bar area. The bar tender came over right away and introduced herself. She was very nice. We ordered 2 entrees and split them. We ordered the 16oz Sirloin steak entree and the shrimp skewers entree. Wow! I did not expect such a massive steak! It was huge. We ordered it medium. It was cooked perfectly. And I know. I was a chef for many years working in kitchens. Whoever cooked this steak knew what they were doing. It was seasoned well and topped with blue cheese crumbles. Mouth watering. The Shrimp skewers were seasoned with a Cajun spice and rested on a bed of rice pilaf. Delicious. It had a little kick. But not too much. Just right. We each got the seasoned vegetables and mashed red potatoes as our sides. Portions were generous. My wife took half of hers home for lunch tomorrow. I on the other hand will not be defeated. I cleaned my plate. The red skin mashed potatoes were the star of the show. Wow! They did not need any gravy or anything. So buttery and good. Same with the mixed vegetables. Perfect. We were both pleasantly surprised. The bar tender kept checking on us and refilled my Diet Coke without me even asking. She was really fantastic. On the ball and she had a full bar of customers by the time we left. That did not stop her from taking care of us. We would definitely recommend this restaurant. Great hidden gem in Dunmore. As we were leaving and walked past bar area I said to my wife, “This would be a fun place to watch a game or big sporting event.” Well sure enough there were signs for future happy hours and upcoming games. Thursday is steak night at Dooley's and they were fabulous. Had a filet (med rare, of course), baked potato and Broccoli. Drink special was a Vanilla cosmo. Also tried a Cheesecake “

“I loved the menu: Italian classics in rational order. You choose your favorite recipe: Franchise, Marsala, Parmigiana, etc. then the meat: Chicken, Veal, Pork. What you get is excellent, classic-with-a-personal-touch food at an excellent price. There's more, and it's also wonderful. So is the family touch, and the neighborhood vibe. This is a great restaurant!“

“Fantastic place! Super nice server, plus the owner stopped by to go over some choices. We ordered toasted ravioli, rosemary chicken, veal and peppers(all excellent) and the home run of the evening, manicotti made with a crepe. Pricing was moderate/low, for the quality.

“OK, I've been to Crotti's a few times now and they've never disappointed! They have an amazing bar chef that makes some of the best bar food you'll find in the area (I got a burger and the beef was so fresh and juicy), the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is prefect for the live performances they have! On the live performances note, they get, by far, some of the best groups around! I personally go there for their blues/funk performances and they're beyond incredible! I truly can't recommend Crotti's enough!“

However not only were they open but considering my debit card was not working for some reason at that time, It was extremely surprising to see the man behind the register gave us our chicken for free. “Carmen's is hands down the most beautiful restaurant in Scranton, and next is Posh. Carmen's has a great menu, excellent appetizers and salads, plus amazing entree dishes including beef, seafood and veal. ““A BRIEF STOP at COUNTRY CAFE” Today were on the PA interstate driving to a holiday weekend destination. We had been on the road for hours, and were starving. Google search for local food, and Country Café came up. When you first see the place from the road, it is very deceiving, because it looks small. It is spacious inside, and they can comfortably accommodate more than 50 people. We ordered the meat lovers omelette and the plates are so full we had trouble finishing! Very reasonable prices as compared to our Jersey Diners. The wait staff and everyone else were so nice and friendly. Whenever we travel we go out of our way to look for places like this. We’re glad we found Country Café. Highly recommended.“

“Just want to give a kudos to Kelly’s Restaurant in Scranton. We ate dinner there tonight with our 2 kids. We rarely go out because our 2 yr old is awful at restaurants. We had errands to run tonight abd had to go out to dinner rather than cook. Our youngest was actually pretty good tonight. The staff was not only kind to my kids, but one of them got down on the floor to talk about coloring books, minecraft, and cars. Another staff played dinosaurs and roared and clawed with my 2 year old. The service was excellent (not too much, not too little). We didn’t go without drinks. Food came out quickly. Food was amazing. Staff was so nice. The patrons were excellent too, one of them picking my son’s dinosaur up. Just goes to show that a restaurant that welcomes families also instills those values and attracts patrons who are nice to kids. I remember going to Kelly’s as a kid and I am happy I can bring my kids there. Thank you Kelly’s for accommodating families. It’s very stressful to bring kids out. Your staff was welcoming and made us feel so at ease. Definitely will be going to Kelly’s more.“
