“We first heard of Chef Von through Next Level Chef. We stopped today as we passed through Scranton. We had the new hangover smash burger which was off the charts. Everyone was super friendly, food was amazing and we even got to briefly met Chef Von. Highly recommended. Get there before he wins next level and you won’t be able to get a seat.“
“I decided to give this place a try after reading some reviews and had a craving for a poke bowl. I went with rice, broccoli, brussell sprouts, chicken, and tuna poke. I really enjoyed the rice, broccoli, chicken, and poke, although the poke upcharge was pricey and the brussell sprouts were tougher than I expected. I got takeout, which was super convenient with online ordering and quick pickup service.“
“Super friendly staff. The restaurant itself was clean and thematic. The food was fine. I had the grilled octopus, fried cheese, and the gyro. I'd recommend them all. I've had better but it was a solid Greek restaurant. Definitely more than a diner.Kid-friendliness: We brought our daughter. They had a kids menu and the staff was friendly and accommodating.“
“Food is amazing! And service is constant. They serve only the finest meats. And it's in the way they cook them that sets them apart. In fact, it's really their forte. For meat eaters...$$$$Parking: There is a parking lot alongside of restaurant. So searching for a space is not an issue. Especially important if weather is inclement.“
“Service friendly and fast. Portions are huge for breakfast but unfortunately for pancakes they do not have real maple syrup just the generic one in the bottle. The eggs were a bit overcooked to my liking and potatoes needed more seasoning, prices are fair.“
“I used to go to Coney Island frequently until I moved out of state. I brought my family there to eat a while back, and we were not disappointed. The Texas wieners were as good as ever! Their sauce is the greatest thing ever cooked on a stove. I have lived in Texas for the past 25 years, and I haven't found a restaurant that even comes close to Coney Island wieners. They are a Scranton institution that you must visit! Go! Right now!!“
“Best place I've been to in Scranton!! The price is definitely worth it!!! They serve you A LOT! So just have that in mind. It'd be best if you have someone to share. The chilaquiles ARE spicy so beware. But man, they are good! The chicken and meat are absolutely perfect. Other places give you old meat where you can taste it has been sitting for a while. Not Yankee Taqueria. The eggs were fried to perfection. The muffin and bagel were toasted so beautifully. I'll try their technique when I get home. The Cecina in the platter was very juicy and tender. Rice was very fluffy. The burrito, I could barely finish half. IT IS STUFFED!! But as it is fat, it's delightful. Again, their meat tastes very good and fresh. I wish I had known of this place before. I'd definitely visit this place evert time I come to Scranton! The service and food is unbeatable. The owner and his family are very friendly and welcoming. You HAVE to try this place!!“
“We stopped in about 7:30 for dinner and it was fabulous. The service was excellent despite the lateish hour and the food was fantastic. We had pumpkin ravioli to die for as an appetizer and I had chicken parm that was so tender and flavorful. My side of vodka linguini is a new favorite! So good! Hubby's chicken strips and penne was also great. I also recommend their strawberry salad. Always a great place to eat!“
“One of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. The meat and cheese they used, whatever they did, they do it extremely well. Our waitress was super nice and it’s a cute little place. What people call the “dated” places are so often some the best food places in the area. It’s a hidden treasure in Scranton.“
“Had a great dinner here after a basketball game at holy rosary. Those who got burgers enjoyed them and the house fries were delicious. Tater tots were very different from store bought and not a hit with kids (looked more like hush puppies). I sincerely appreciated that they had GF items labeled on the menu. The rice bun was very cool- felt like eating a sushi burger! Server was great! If I could give 4.5 I would!Dietary restrictions: Very GF friendly“
“Great place for vegan comfort food. Any time I'm missing the taste and texture of a super cheesy quesedilla, this is where I go -- its close enough to the real thing to quench that craving. Hubby loves the Wild Wild West burger and we both LOVE the smashed potatoes. The smoothies/shakes are freaking delicious too.“
“Found this little gem when my husband was working in the area. I picked it based on the reviews and so glad I did. The place was hopping with customers and the bartenders did a fantastic job of keeping the drinks full. The owner helped us find a seat as soon as we walked in and the service from that point on was incredible! The young female bartender reminded me of myself in the “old days”. She had lots of energy to match the atmosphere and was speedy with your next beverage, served with a big smile. We each got wings and shared the garbage fries, which was all delicious!! Big crispy wings with crispy celery to match and they were not skimpy on the Bleu Cheese either.Hopefully our travels take us back this way because I’d love to visit again!!“
“Cheers with breakfast food someone said. Um, yes 100%! While we just found you on Google while we waited for a car repair...it was truly a pleasure. Breakfast was plentiful, the omelet was great, pancakes were on point. ☕️ tasted perfect. Small, comfy, clean, and relaxing. The locals inside were kind to us and had a very positive banter back and forth with one another. Wish I lived closer!“
“The service here can't be beat. Once they refused to charge us because our meal took too long. (so we just tipped the amt of the meal lol). Once we arrived not knowing they were closing early and they let us come in and insisted on us not rushing. The specials are always interesting and their corned beef hash is one of the best I've had. We can't recommend it enough and we come here every time we are in town .Wheelchair accessibility: Back door“
“Noir Dark Spirits was absolutely incredible! The atmosphere was amazing, the food was beyond delicious, the presentation of said food was very unique and gothic themed, and the prices where more than reasonable, even inexpensive for the quality and quantity at times! The drinks were nothing short of delicious and well mixed to the point of barely tasting the alcohol, but oh, there's alcohol alright! All in all, it was a wonderful experience to the point that my spouse and I are planning a party there in the future! If you like gothic aesthetics, great drinks and great food, you MUST give Noir Dark Spirits a try!“
“We ate at Keystone Restaurant and ordered the meatloaf from Mothers Kitchen. One of the best meals I’ve had here. The mashed potatoes and gravy was nice and creamy and the meatloaf was a big portion and had a great savory and sweet taste. The chef came out and even spoke with us, telling us other meals to try when we come back. I will definitely be back not only bc of the food bust bc of how nice he was to stop and talk with us.“
“I've lived around the corner for a year, but never tried their place 'til last night. Got a pizza for my upstairs neighbor and myself to split. It's unique, and for 5$, you can't beat it. She and I (mostly me) almost ate the whole 12 cuts too!“
“This place is awesome! Very classic diner-esque corner spot with a breakfast bar. It’s a modest place with super friendly and personable staff. The prices are low and the food is great! My fiancée and I come for breakfast or order delivery multiple times a week. Their coffee is AMAZING and honestly never had a bad experience. Ally, Rob, and Chris are some of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting! Will continue to enjoy our breakfast from this spot for many times to come.“
“We had a nice night out when our friends invited us to the VSpot The staff was really friendly and made us feel right at home, which added to the atmosphere. The steak they served on steak night was absolutely delicious. The music lineup was great, the sound quality was top-notch, and the new stage setup was impressive, making the whole experience even better. Oh, and we also got to check out the release of a new song called "Violet" by a popular local artist named Ivy. Overall, it was an awesome night, and big props to everyone involved for making it so memorable!“
“Prompt and attentive service with reasonable pricing. I liked my chicken pot pie soup, but there was sugar in the pie crust, that was really, really weird. The chicken strips with butter and garlic and garlic bread were fantastic! No room for dessert and a takeout container to bring home.“
“A local sports establishment with tasty bar food and cold beverages at a fair price. Lots of televisions for all your sports watching needs. Jukebox playing some music when needed. Staff/bartender is very welcoming. Low key, friendly, and relaxed environment.“
“OK, I've been to Crotti's a few times now and they've never disappointed! They have an amazing bar chef that makes some of the best bar food you'll find in the area (I got a burger and the beef was so fresh and juicy), the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is prefect for the live performances they have! On the live performances note, they get, by far, some of the best groups around! I personally go there for their blues/funk performances and they're beyond incredible! I truly can't recommend Crotti's enough!“
“I love going to the backyard part. it's such a nice space. I had always gone in warmer weather but I recently went in the winter and I was surprised how nice it was since it is not fully enclosed. They are always well staffed and food and service is great. ( Seems like a rare things these days to be staffed welll.)“
“I don’t usually do reviews, but I truly had a great time at AV on Thursday— I have never been here before and always wanted to try it. Our server was CJ who was very knowledgeable about the menu & helped us choose a wine. We had ordered their octopus & baked brie for apps and porcini cavatelli & duck for entrees. Both came out better than I could expect and it was very easy to tell the pasta was made fresh. Dinner was also extremely fairly priced for how much work the back of house puts into their food. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.“
“1st off...its beautiful. It's a converted old train station...tons of marble and the ceiling!!!! 2nd, our server Marissa....AWESOME. 3rd...great drinks, perfect steak, delicious risotto and stellar creme Brule. We had our anniversary dinner there and there's nothing I could've improved on.“
“P.J. Scanlon's is a very nice place to grab a decent lunch. The servers are very friendly, and the dining area is surrounded by large windows, making the natural light coming through very appealing. It was a gorgeous, sunny day when I visited for lunch at approximately 12:45, making the establishment all the more inviting. The weather also provided a perfect day to eat on their patios, with plenty of tables available.P.J. Scanlon's have a variety of soups, gourmet salads, and sandwiches to choose from. The chicken salad sandwich on a hard roll was delicious, accompanied by a pickle and potato chips. The roll and chicken salad was fresh and tasty. The service was also fast during this time, which makes it easier if you're in a bit of a rush. Give this place a try if you're looking for a satisfying lunch.“
“Had an amazing experience at Anthony's! My family of 5 came in today on a roadtrip from Florida to Vermont and got a large variety of foods. I got breakfast, but the table also got burgers, pizza, and even wings! Speaking of which, the wings were possibly the best wings my family has ever had, and it's a shame we don't live in the area to have them more often. The pancakes had a homecooked taste to them and the chocolate chips were simply decadent. It's a family owned restaurant, so the food took a bit, but it was well worth the wait. Thank you for an amazing experience, we will definitely be repeat customers next time we are in town. :)“
