“We stopped in on a Wednesday evening to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was able to accommodate us and they did it with a smile on their face. Our server was wonderful took our orders. Everything was exact and came out together. She kept our drinks filled and kept asking if there was anything else we needed. The pasta Luciano is very good. My boyfriend loves the pasta Diablo. It is a little spicy but very tasty. Their homemade bread is also very good.“
“This was my first time eating here with my husband and I must say, we were so impressed. Everything was so amazing from the food to the cocktails to the random little plates they gave you. The porkchop was literally the best I've ever had in my life! All the foods were so inventive and delicious. My husband has the bolognese and it was so tasty! We would gladly love to go back again soon!“
“Very friendly family environment! Husband and wife were very great to us. We drove all from Philadelphia to go to the hall of fame in Ohio to stop here because of diners drive ins and dives. They did not disappoint. They were busy but accommodating. Food was very large and very good! Highly recommend it!“
“World class cooking is the only way to describe it. Not to mention, you will feel as if you are amongst the cobble streets of Florence, Italy. The atmosphere impress me and my guests each and every time. Indoor seating and outdoor seating is equally stunning. Highest quality cooking and highest quality ingredients keep us coming back for more. We can’t get enough of this restaurant gem.Thank you Pino’s Restaurant for the fantastic meal and ambiance once again!Bon Appetit!“
“Love love love Frankstown Wood fired Pizza! I crave it everyday. My boyfriend and I like the margarita pizza. So much so that we get it about once a week. Workers and owners are very kind and make delicious food. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients of both the toppings and dough in every bite. If you can make it there before it’s gone their fresh baked bread is wonderful!! I recommend and tell people about this place all the time. I would give them 100 stars if I could ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“Steve and Jenn are amazing owners and hosts. The foods are amazing and new dishes are frequently added. The pasta is made right on site and definitely makes a difference. The wine choices are premium without the exorbitant prices. The guests are treated like family and you will fill like a couch is warm and waiting for you after your last bite.Visit once and it will not be your last.“
“We recently gave this place a try after hearing good thing and were blown away by the food and service. We had meatballs and ricotta, maple Brussels, pizza, and pasta.Their chef has a meticulous focus on quality and you can taste it in every bite of goodness. We will definitely be coming back soon.“
“What a charming little shop! So much character in the space - a collected, homey feeling, with interesting fixtures, warm colors, and lots of sunlight. I ordered an americano and raspberry turnover and both were delightful! I love that they were served in real dishes instead of paper or plastic. The service was prompt and attentive! The seating is quaint but a little uncomfortable. Will definitely return next time I'm in the neighborhood.“
“Christmas at Johnny's...Very Festive and Comforting. I had the Chicken Romano...OUTSTANDING!!!! The Chicken was SO TENDER that I was Eating it with a SPOON!!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Also had Meatballs...DELICIOUS!!! A MUST VISIT To EVERYONE Who want REAL HOMEMADE ITALIAN QUESINE!!!@“
“Stopped here for a quick lunch on a Saturday. Server was attentive, food was hot and fresh and atmosphere was relaxed. We had a large pizza and some sandwiches. Appreciated that there was a vegetarian sandwich option and that the menu was simple and easy to figure out. They know what they do best there and they keep it at that. Something I admire.“
“My wife wanted a date night. I found Olives and Peppers online. It was our first time there. I did make a reservation, (thanks to a review) we were seated immediately. With in minutes our waitress was there ready to serve. After ordering cocktails, we ordered appetizers, zucchini plants and burrata cheese, it was a great start, so tasty. My wife had steak and mushroom Gorgonzola, I stayed with Italian and tried the lasagna. This meal was old school Italian cuisine. The portions were large. Our taste buds enjoyed the experience.,The wedding soup was top notch. Thank you Rebecca for making our date night memorable. We will be back and we will definitely brag about our experience at Olives and Peppers to our friends and family.“
“Started my Pittsburgh foodie adventures in this adorable little sit-down pizza restaurant in Shadyside! We tried the Pizza Del Re (white pizza) and Pizza Della Casa (red pizza), and both lived up to the hype! Pizza Del Re: - White pizza with mozzarella, truffle spread, & prosciutto (it comes with mushrooms too, but we got it without because my boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms) - A super rich truffle taste that was so yummy - Loved the thin crust, but there were parts that tasted a little too burnt Pizza Della Casa: - Red tomato sauce pizza with mozzarella, grape tomatoes, arugula, prosciutto, & parmigiano - I love the combination of prosciutto & arugula and it was a plus that the arugula tasted so fresh & wasn't bitter - I personally prefer red sauce over white sauce, so I liked this pizza a little bit more To top off your meal here, make sure to get their gelato for dessert! I got a small size with 2 flavors -- tiramisu and hazelnut. Both flavors were super rich and yummy and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.“
“This has become my favorite place to eat. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The service is over the top. It is a must try! One of the best cannoli’s around! The steaks are melt in your mouth! The pasta is home made so fresh with all types of sauces. Be prepared to eat! The servings are very large. Compliments to the Chef and his entire staff!“
“Honestly I keep thinking how dumb I've been to not have discovered this place sooner! I walked in within 2 minutes of them opening so I was the only one in the place. The waitresses and the owner all introduced themselves to me and asked my name. From that point on, they treated me like we had been friends for years. I had only wanted to try this place because I have heard the live music is great and the atmosphere is better, but when I got there, I was a bit hungry. I took a look at the menu and didn't see anything I would like but because they were so nice to me, I thought I would try the Italian hoagie. BEST DECISION EVER. I mean wow I can't stop thinking about how good it was. While I was waiting for my food to be made, I was looking at some of their upcoming events. They have an event called "Dingus Day" coming up and I wanted to know more. The owner came out and sat down next to me and started looking for videos on their tv. He found a clip of Anderson Cooper making fun of this dingus day and that's why he likes celebrating it. We walked YouTube videos for 15 minutes til my food was ready. I've never laughed or had so much fun with complete strangers in my life. I can't wait to go back and hang out with the people who made me feel like family from the second I walked in.“
“We had a very enjoyable evening at Tambellini's. We love the cozy ambience of the dining room and the gracious service. Our server Charlotte did a great job of pacing our meal service. We both had the special entree of Veal Lucca with veal medallions in marsala sauce topped with crispy proscuitto. Delicious! We enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar with Mike to finish a relaxing evening.“
“The gluten free pizza here is the best gluten free pizza I’ve had, hands down!!! And I try gf pizza everywhere I go— literally 10 years and this stuff is just amazing. It’s like magic. The sauce is good. The toppings are great. It’s solid pizza regardless and my non gf husband still loves eating here too! Also, the gluten free fried cinnamon dough!!!! It’s literally the closest thing I’ve had to a doughnut in 10 years and we LOVE it in my house ???? if I had the money I’d invest in the gluten free pizza dough here to make it available everywhere; it’s such a game changer ??Highly recommend!“
“Went to Fontanas for a bite out and to hear our favorite duo, "Let's Duet." Got chicken wings, fries, & fried pickles. Everything was very good! Quick service and the food came out quick and hot, despite it being busy. Also had Ellicottville blueberry beer on tap....delish! It's a small bar with maybe 12 tables and some seats at the bar. Nice local watering hole! Glad we came and hope to stop by again!! Give it a try.“
“This place’s eggplant parmigiana is to die for. I spent many birthdays here. I have since moved from Pittsburgh but have been meaning to stop by. I can recall the linguine and clams being really good, too. It’s old school Italian. Good sized portions, fresh bread, and pleasant atmosphere/ambience.Parking: For some reason, people go to the bar and not to the restaurant, so there’s plenty of parking off to the side of the building.“
“It's like being at your favorite dinner table with family and friends! With our beautiful Italian family gathering around the bar area in numbers of about 15 Friday night, we had a blast! Yes, Joe is our cousin and that is definitely warm and wonderful but Louise, Joe's matriarch, was there too which made it extra special. Lulu, chef, Delaney, "Ms. Brown", Linda and all staff were amazing and fun. So the food, sauteed arthichoke hearts, pasta fagioli, wedding soup, Chicken Romano, Veal Romano, beverage list unsurpassed and our usual standards and oh the red velvet cheesecake was picture and taste perfect. All food made to order fresh and it definitely shows the attention to every morsel we enjoyed. Oh, the bread is made locally and it's the best. We were almost the last to leave and we have all the photos to show our fun time. Can't wait to go back for their Sunday sauce. Salute and see you soon. Thank you for your "cordial" cordial to cap off the night. Highly recommend. There is nothing better than a cozy Italian restaurant that is one of a kind. Spring is here and the bocce court will be ready!“
“The value for the price is awesome. Super good meals every time. And always enough to take some home. Always have to get dessert and usually enough of it to take some home also. The desserts are homemade styles and a great variety of options. Free garlic bread is perfect too.“
“This is by far, the best pizza and the best calzone I’ve ever tasted. The cheese to sauce ratio was impeccable. The crust was a perfect bit of crunchy around the crust. There was NOT a single bite of pizza that was soggy - and given the moisture of the cheese and sauce the pizza had, I was floored by how perfectly cooked it was. This place is CASH ONLY and although there is sorting available, it doesn’t seem like the type of place you want to sit down and eat. Not that it’s unwelcoming, it’s just very quaint.Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian pizza toppings available for personalizationParking: Plenty of parking with a bit of a walk from the lot“
“I really enjoyed this kinda hidden Italian gem! It's just the right size - not too big with an overdone menu. Enough choices but not overwhelming. The bruschetta was very good, but, for me, th spinach ricotta ravioli was mouth melting deliciousness! My friend ordered the penne with meatballs which was also a big hit. To finish our meal we decided on canole, yum! My only disappointment was the bread - nothing special, nor did it seem much like what I had in Italy. The wine list had some nice options... the Aldo Conterno Bussia Barolo caught my attention (yeah, we ordered it - def decant). The balsamic/olive oils served were above par and also loved the copper wrapped tables and rustic elegance. Service was great. They also had little gift package "meal kits" which I thought was a clever idea. Def would go here again!“
“Our staff needed to order a couple of pizzas fast and Pizza Marsala was mentioned by a client of ours. Brittany, the one who answered the phone to take our order, is the epitome of what customer service means. She told me about a better deal and made sure I received my receipt for expense purposes. The pizza was perfectly cooked. I loved the crust! We are patrons!“
“Came here tonight for dinner. Had the John Anthony’s chicken and it was delicious! Server Giulinenne (spelling??) was so kind and attentive! I’ve always had great service here. It’s also remained very clean and tidy even after the Covid protocols started to die off. Thanks so much!“
“They make really good sandwiches. I had the Italian sub. The bread was soft and chewy and the fillings were tasty. I will probably go extra meat next time just because it tasted so good. My wife had the fish sandwich. This was no little fish sandwich! The filet of fish hung out a good 3 inches in each side of the bun. It's a plain sandwich with just the fish, but it was light and flakey (you can add cheese, tartar or ketchup. I would definitely recommend it.“
“Went there years ago when I worked in the area. I ordered a large pepperoni and wings. These wings were whole ones and tasted great. I got the light spice. They were very good and the pepperoni pizza was as good as I remember years ago. They also now accept cards they were cash only before. Can't wait for my next order.“
“Visited for dinner, was hoping to be seated downstairs but ended up in the upstairs dining room. It’s a different vibe up there as you can’t really hear the music. Overall though, the decor and aesthetic is beautiful. We ordered the focaccia, which was delicious but wasn’t served warm. The charred eggplant was the standout. We then shared the chicken Parmesan and the tagliatelle with bolognese. Chicken parm was good and an enormous portion. Bolognese was mediocre and had no depth of flavor, disappointing. We shared a panna cotta for dessert which was lovely. Cocktails were also tasty. Our server, Sarah, was wonderful and served us complimentary bubbles for my birthday. All in all, it was a nice experience but in my opinion a little overpriced and not my first choice for pasta.“
“Had a funeral lunch there in October for my mother-in-law. The service was impeccable and the food selections were perfect! The staff expressed their sympathy. I attended another funeral luncheon recently somewhere else and the service and food was very lacking. Highly recommend having a group event here! The price was reasonable too.“
“Well The Hood made his way to Monroeville Pa! Stopping at the coal pizza to try it. Well… the food was good had some white pizza and wings with dry rub ( recommended by our server, wings that is). Not a fan of the dry rubs but this wasn’t bad… Th e pizza was burnt on the edges but it’s their style but it was still good. Had spinach artichoke dip and it was great! Got a chopped salad also and it was delicious! Recommend both! So overall food was good. Service- excellent! He kept an eye on us and checked often if needed anything! Atmosphere- nice lots of pics of past people you’ll see when you go. And The Hood recommends you go! So with that The Hood says be kind and keep eating and trying new things you never know when you’ll find your next favorite food! And you know you should follow The Hood see ya soon!“
“We have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed the food.went for the pizza today and wow.this is by far 1 of the best.thick crispy crust the whole way across and enough sauce to get it on your cheeks with great toppings.i live 45 min.away and don't mind the drive for great food.“
“Angie's is a family owned restaurant with the sweetest staff. They truly treat you like family here! I recommend their beans and greens and their spinach calzone! They are a BYOB which is always a plus! The Christmas decorations are so fun and abundant! The space is great for larger parties as well!“
“Found this place living at children’s hospital, everyday I just wanted to leave and go here. Never knew what the menu would be like you would just have to go and see for yourself. Something new always. My husband swears they have the best wedding soup hands down. Im completely obsessed with the carrot cake and I will never be able to go or get it anywhere else. Best carrot cake ever! The staff and owner are super friendly and very easy to talk to. Need a laugh they chuckle and make the day a little brighter. I wish this place was a little closer to home we have Maria’s dinner every other night. We will definitely be back and can’t thank you all enough for everything the last few weeks. Sam & Day.“
“Lou has provided the most consistently delicious pizzas and hoagies for the past 50 years. Nothing better than a large pie with homemade hot Italian sausage and the best crust holding it all together. Grew up eating this pizza and is the first place I return to when back home in Plum!“
“I am speechless it’s been a while since I dined out and everything came together to have an excellent meal.I now know what authentic Italian food at its best tastes like .The absolute best marinara sauce ,everything my family ordered was delicious.Great service ,great food,I love the atmosphere. This will be are go to place now.“
“The owner of this establishment is one of the best people I know. It’s not just a product to Bill. It’s his passion, with Over 30 years in the food industry, Grand Slam pizza provides quality and the perfect ambiance for your family. I recommend highly. Joe “
“I'm from east pgh. And this pizza is just like vinnies...big toppings tons of cheese and the sauce is awesome the crust is great just all around gold...the hoagies, salads everything here is 110% delicious you definitely get what you pay for!!!...comfortis please don't change a thing!!!“
“We were in town for a hockey tournament, and looking for a place for dinner. This place is a gem. Great wait staff, and a quiet ambiance for conversation. Not a big place, but just the right size for date night or if you want to have conversation at dinner. Food was served fresh, bonus points for having fresh pasta!“
“Breakfast critic: 2nd best place to eat around here outside of my own kitchen! First visit and I am hooked. Wedding soup was so close to moms recipe I almost cried. Omelet was phenomenal. If I could have given them a 10 they would have got it. Highly recommend!!!! Can't wait to come back to try the dinner menu. Been to a lot of places for breakfast and this one takes the cake. And that banana creme pie is calling. Do yourself a favor and stop in sooner than later.“
“The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. The food was amazing. We had wings, a steak hoagie, and onion rings. The Wings were cooked just right. The bartender and cook were very friendly. Drinks are not expensive. We met the new owner. He thanked us for trying his place out and even bought us a drink.“
“This place has ample seating and parking. Management is friendly and the establishment is clean. Weekends host live entertainment with mixed genres to cater to a wide demographic. This place has packed in many events and has much more to come. Follow their Facebook and instgram accounts for updated information about local entertainment and events to come.“
“Absolutely. Unreal. Monthly ravioli drops, so you gotta keep an eye out on Instagram. All of the variations and sauces are out of this world. The owner is the nicest guy, runs it out of a cute shop in Bloomfield. My partner and I are truly the biggest fans of this place! So far we have tried hot sausage sandwich, granchio (crab) with garlic béchamel sauce (pictured), and just ordered gumbo and spinach! The best ravioli you will ever have!!“
“Stopped in as it was recommended by some locals. I ended up getting my food to go, but they had plenty of seating and TVs. The staff I engaged was friendly and helpful. I ordered wings and they hit the spot! I will definitely be back and will order the wings again, although next time I will get some pizza to go with it.“
“Park Pizza and Creme is like its name: a cute and cool corner pizza and ice cream place with outdoor seating across from Frick Park, but it's really so much more. Neighbors and passersby stop for food, conversation, and outdoor family sitdowns, just like in the days when it was more common. Stop by this place after playing with the little ones in Frick Park or carry out a pizza or sub to go! Any way you slice it, you're sure to enjoy this friendly place!“
“Outstanding pizza! As a lifelong NEW YORKER… I love pizza! Shelly Pie Pizza was absolutely outstanding. The best I’ve found in the area as of yet! Service and speedy service coupled with and amazing amount of topping loaded with delicious cheese to satisfy my true pizza craving experience. Thank you for the outstanding food! I WILL BE BACK REPEATEDLY!“
“The service. Specifically, Jake the server. He was superlative. His attention to detail was way beyond expectations. He brought my companions food and apologized saying he'd sent mine back because he thought it was too dark. My mozzarella sticks arrived golden, crisp, and perfect. Such a dedication to excellence in standards can't go unacknowledged. Attentive and friendly. Praiseworthy indeed.“
“Great pizza and highly recommend the steak sub.The beef is fire, and they put a ton of cheese on it and this awesome tangy sauce.. all on a Mancini's hoagie roll... it's so good. Staff is friendly and create a very welcoming atmosphere :)“
“This is one of the best Italian and pizza places I have visited here in da Burgh! Highly recommend the place. Portions are large and all home made I think!! Wonderful service from Ms. Liz.Dietary restrictions: Have gluten free pizza for all pizzas and gluten pasta too!!“
“Being born and living in Texas I had my favorite restaurants on being a Italian restaurant being Antonio's now that I'm living here in Pennsylvania I have found my new favorite restaurant being so similar in everything that Antonio's has to offer I can honestly say that this is the Best ♥️“
“We ordered food from here when they first opened up and we were very disappointed. Fast forward to early 2024 & I have been hearing decent things about the food. So we ordered take out. It was really cold in the front part of the place, where they have a few hard booths for dining in. The counter girls are young and cute and on their cell phones lol. They do answer the house phone pretty quickly though, so it's not like they're neglecting the answering of phones. They have a good many of cooks back in the kitchen. The food I ordered was not chosen by my looking at a menu; I ordered the items that a person had recommended, stuff that she & her husband order all the time. I didn't know there would be pepperoni & melted cheese on top of the spaghetti. I don't care for pepperoni and it made my spaghetti too spicy for me to eat. My mouth can't handle spicy, and I have multiple digestive issues that are very punishing once I ingest spicy ANYTHING. Also, they packed my salad in with all the hot foods. I'm glad I saw it so I could take it out so it wasn't warm or soggy by the time I got home. I'm not gonna rule out ordering from this place, because I most definitely will order again. I'll peruse the menu, and not just go by something I'm told.“
