“After numerous people recommending John Wright, my wife and I decided to give it a try for our anniversary dinner. We did make a reservation. Everything was excellent - from the time we walked in til we walked out. Our server was very friendly, attentive and knew the menu well. The crab and corn risotto starter was absolutely delicious. I could order just several of those and be happy. I had the crab stuffed Mahi Mahi - it was so good, I was sad when it was gone haha. My wife had the seafood manicotti. Another fantastic dish we'd order again. The dessert was a light but mouth watering cheesecake. We can't wait for a little warmer weather to dine outside. The view of the river is great from inside but even better when we walked out to the patio.“

“This is one of our regular breakfast location spots. Bring a jacket, especially on cold days because there seems no way to avoid the draft. Also, don't sit near the bar door because sometimes you smell smoke wafting in which is unpleasant. All of this said the wait staff is friendly and prompt. The menus are on the table. Sometimes the specials are fantastic but I'm a huge fan of their unique omelet menu. Huge fan of their taco omelet, which is just what it sounds like.“

“This was a yelp find that ended up being a total diamond of a find. The drinks were well made and not overdone. The Brussel sprout appetizer is the best I have ever had. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, but the burgers are just amazing. Finally, dessert is just.... Wow. True creme brulee, made the way it was meant to be and in such a perfect abundant portion. We could not be more thrilled with our experience. “we stayed here this past Saturday night. Alexis was very pleasant and gave us a tour before we moved our belongings to our room. Our stay was cozy and enjoyable. We stayed in room 6 & it was the perfect way for me to spend my birthday weekend. The showers were hot & the pressure from the shower was great (i hate it when you go to a hotel and there’s little to no pressure in the shower). Looking forward to to returning one day!“

“*Edit* The burgers and ice cream were delicious. My daughter loved the Cookie Monster ice cream.No indoor seating still. They just use the inside for storage. When asked they said they closed down for COVID and just haven’t opened yet… it’s 2023. It was over 100° and with babies in tow it made for a very unpleasant experience.“

“Everyone there was very courteous and our server was great. The pub portion of the restaurant was quite dark as you would expect a tavern to be. The patio in the back was completely different and had its own, great vibe. Lots of natural light, a few fireplaces, greenery on the ceiling, etc. We had the “famous fish and chips” and it was delicious! The fish filets were huge, the breading was thick and substantial, crispy and delicious. The chips (fries) were very good as well. The drink menu was enormous and had tasting notes for many of them. “My mom & I just picked up breakfast takeout for us & my grandma and just WOW!!! We loved absolutely everything we ordered! The biscuits are delicious & filling, the portions for the price are amazing and I had the best chocolate chip pancake I think I ever had in my life! The pancakes are big & fluffy. The side of meat was two pieces of scrapple which was wonderful as with most places you only get one piece. The toast was pre buttered & yummy. I just can't say enough good things, I am just happy that this place is so close to us & that we were able to get takeout before they closed at noon. Waiting for our food bags we enjoyed taking in all of the diner decor, the place is so adorable & hasn't changed since I was a little kid, I just regret not coming back sooner. Will definitely make a point to dine in often. The atmosphere is awesome & the tiny place gets packed but there is plenty of parking! They know how to cook good breakfast & with it being my fave meal of the day, I was more than satisfied.“

I’ve been looking for a place that makes sausage gravy just like my mom and had no luck, until we dined here! “We came here for our honeymoon! After traveling from Philly, we stopped in Lancaster and asked a local what food they recommend. This was their first pick and they did not disappoint! It looks small, but there is a lot of space inside! It was packed but still had loads of seats to choose from so we could sit around people or find somewhere secluded. There were so many families, it warmed my heart. Our server, Jordan, had great energy, was fast with refills and had so many great recommendations. Our food was hot, fresh, and legitimately the best food we have had in the entire honeymoon. I had the French onion panini and my husband had the crab cakes, and we split some onion rings with spicy crab soup. It blew us away, and they were just the sweetest group ever! If I settled here I know I would end up being one of those couples there every Saturday night because it is worth it!“

“Our unplanned dinner here turned out to be one of the treasured experiences of our trip. What a hidden gem this restaurant is! The chef (owner?) greeted us and readied a table for us in the sunroom, which offered a nice evening breeze. Both he and the bartender came to our table to answer questions and give information about the menu, drinks, and how prohibition and local farming influence both. The hamburger, clam po-boy, and crab cakes we got were all delicious and our cocktails were refreshing and unique. As others mentioned, the art displayed is also interesting and fun. “I stop here at least once a week. Their beverages are wonderful...sandwiches aren't bad either. Their soups on the other hand leave a lot to be desired. I had the veggie last week...it was so peppery that I couldn't eat it...I had the Italian Wedding soup this week...that was just a downright disgrace! The broth was so salty and I have never had or made Italian wedding soup with sausage meatballs...there wasn't any chicken to be found and carrots, spinach and orzo were nonexistent. The broth was so dark at first I thought they made a mistake. Lesson learned...next time I want Italian Wedding soup I will make my own.“

“Wow we had a fantastics experience here! Our service was phenomenal we have never had a server care so much about his job. Jack was our server tonight and to say he was one of the most genuine and sincere servers we have ever had is an understatement. He seemed to care about our experience as well as answering all our questions on the menu. He ran around tending to every table he had and I think he made our experience better being our server. The food and drinks were fantastic as well as the atmosphere this is definitely bucket list restaurant to try and we cand wait to share with friends. They were a Monday night regular for your chicken and waffles for mom. And they even enjoyed their 60th wedding anniversary party here a couple years back. The food and hospitality were amazing. “1st time visit. The dining room is very big and bright. We did an early Friday dinner to get the AYCE fish fry. There seemed to be a lot of idle employees. Our waitress was extremely nice and efficient. The food was hot,good portions and tasted great. We did ask questions of 2 different waitstaff that neither could answer. We plan to come back so that's a good thing.Parking: Parking is right behind restaurant. It is tight but do able. The lot was full but restaurant wasn't. Don't know if employees also use the lot.“

“This is easily within walking distance of what was home for a few years so I've eaten here a lot. Staff is friendly and the food never disappoints. Breakfast is my most often eaten meal here, but also eat here at least a couple times a month on nights when we don't get around to cooking early enough. Not a big fan of eating the same thing all the time so I appreciate that breakfast specials change weekly. It is your basic Cafe with a large variety of menu items, they always seem to do a good job with anything I've gotten. Obviously I'll return.“

“We love Stony Run Brew House! Our “go to” place for great food, atmosphere and prices. Recently saw they have a small banquet space and booked it for a surprise birthday party with over 30 guests. “We stopped here by chance after a concert at the American Music Center in Lancaster . At first glance from outside, it just looked like a bar, not seedy, but maybe questionable. “Marietta Tavern is the perfect find for when you want a good meal and a beer. You can tell Brandi and staff have put a lot of hard work into the place. We just ate at Wing Night and everything came out yummy. Even the 8 year old was happy. There are games on the wall in the one room making it more of a family setting. “I ordered catering for a breakfast company meeting and everyone was impressed. The sandwiches were still warm and delicious. I appreciated the fact that they provided ketchup and Tabasco packets without asking. I also recommend the baked oatmeal with milk and brown sugar. “Steak is always excellent here . 2023 April Update we went there a party of five the place was full. I bought my usual a sirloin steak mushrooms and the rest anyway all of our food was barley warm. I said something to the waitress that ask if I wanted it heated up I declined it was already dry and tough this is the second time in a row food was way under my standard the time before was in 2022. I used to look foward to going there . Today I made roast beef and it was so tender it melted in my mouth and the beef came from Walmart and it blew your steak out of the water 10x better and not dry tough or cold.Shame on you for charging premium money for 2nd rate food.I wanted to say something to the manager but my girlfreing did,t want me too. Even if we did get gift cards guess what someone still worked hard to pay for that gift card and I am asking for gift cards from somewhere else from now on. The word is out you don't care.
