Finalement la phrase parfaite pour décrire nos visites vient d'un grand chef; "Parce que qu'un bon repas au Bistro St-Malo ce n'est jamais mauvais!"“

“My boyfriend and I live in the neighborhood and we've said a few times that we want to go there.What a great experience!! A warm and refined atmosphere, personalized service, smiling and attentive staff.The oysters are fresh and the beef tartare tasty. The cocktails are interesting and the staff will be able to give you good advice if it's your first time.We were just confused that after paying, they brought our coats directly to the table. We hadn't finished our digestive so that brought a sense of rush because normally we go straight to the cloakroom to pick them up when leaving, but we still appreciated the attention.Recommended for fans of speak-easies such as Jjacques (Quebec) and Kabinet (Montreal)“

“Would give 6 stars if possible. Incredible food, cozy and relaxed unpretentious atmosphere combined with great and friendly service. Our waiter Jordan did a fantastic job in French and English breaking down the menu for the night, making recommendations, and was attentive, friendly, and charismatic throughout. Food was incredible and not overpriced, our table of 3 split 2 bottles of wine, 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 2 desserts for a very reasonable price. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting looking for the best French food I’ve ever had. The sweetbreads and veal tataki are must get appetizers, and the duck, steak, and pork roulade were incredible as well.“

“It was a satisfactory experience except that the price was a bit expensive. I was a bit worried about getting a seat because I made a reservation alone, but I was assigned a window seat even though I didn't request it, and I was satisfied with the menu explanation and wine recommendations.“

“We came across the restaurant walking back to our Airbnb and they seated us despite it being a bit late. The service was thoughtful and fun. I’d recommend them for lunch or dinner. The goat cheese salad was creative and excellent. The pulled pork potato flavors all in perfect balance. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and the desserts were absolutely amazing! Thank you for such an enjoyable meal.“

“My boyfriend really wanted to try rabbit while we were in Quebec and this place definitely delivered. Easy to walk to, as it is right in the middle of touristy Quartier Petit Champlain. The rabbit leg was very tender and tasty and the rabbit pot pie was full of flavor. We also got a cheese for an appetizer, which was a fun experience, and the tiramisu for dessert. Service was great, the staff is very capable in both French and English, and the atmosphere is very nice and cozy.“

“We were treated to a high-end culinary experience last night. Everything was sublime, as much in terms of the quality of the products, the impeccable presentation, the perfect execution and the divine flavors. Maggie's gentle service and sommelier Antoine's passion for his products allowed us to have an incredible experience. We were treated to some great discoveries of amazing wines and the pairings were perfect.I discovered Stéphane's cuisine a long time ago, during the time of the late restaurant l'utopia, and I was very eager to relive an intimate experience in a smaller restaurant where everything is thought out down to the smallest detail. I was not disappointed in any way, Stéphane once again met and even exceeded all my expectations! We even had a visit from Stéphane himself at our table. Little attention much appreciated! His dishes are thoughtful, each element brings something to the whole and the passion is evident as soon as you try to imagine the amount of work that such a degree of perfection requires on a plate.Congratulations to the entire Clan team who made this experience simply perfect. I will definitely come back during my next stay in Quebec!“

“We just love this place. I like savory crepes and he likes butter and sugar. He eats a burger at Chez Victor up the street and has dessert here. I have my dinner here. We first went in Dec 2022 and came back the next night. Tonight we brought our daughter here since she traveled to QC with us this time. She had a savory crepe made with buckwheat (because she's gluten free) and she loved it and didn't "get glutened". Win all around. Atmosphere is terrific too!“

“One of the best meals I've had this year and my dinning mates too. We will have to come back for the Chef's Choice on a Tuesday or Wednesday on a future trip to Quebec City. Our group of three choice four appetizers, two starters, and two mains as our three hour dinner and served with two bottles of a lovely Sardinian wine.Lovely and complex flavour profiles and beautifully presented dishes. This place will not disappoint. Fin, casual, but attentive service which the made the evening all the more special. A return visit (and more) are in order.“

“Excellent service that I never experienced in any cafe in Toronto. Staffs are charming and polite.Food is delicious. My wife and I love the maple syrup crepes, which has strong egg butter flavor, unlike those I tried in Taiwan.We ordered classic breakfast with over easy eggs and maple syrup crepes“

“We had dinner here last night and it was incredible!! From the moment we stepped inside, it is such a charming restaurant & atmosphere. Being celiac, it was truly amazing to be able to eat onion rings deep fried and not have to worry about any cross-contamination. The batter was so light and tasty. My hubby's poutine was gigantic, full of bacon & chicken. So good! Strongly recommend that you check out this restaurant if you have the opportunity to do so! Thank you Veravin :)“

“Très très bon service de la part des serveuses,qui sont très décontractées et très proche de leur clientèle. Que dire de Claudine,la cheffe cuisinière,tes plats sont tout simplement succulents et raffinés et cela se ressent dans ta préparation. “Went for appetizers and drinks, it was a random time of the day so they were not busy, but the vibe was still fun.Had a couple of appetizers, including the lobster bites, they were a little small but were quite tasty.The drinks were also really good and fun.It is definitely a franchise vibe but it was a good experience.“
“We went for supper bc I'm a big fan of Louis Hébert, the first European who moved (& grew weed) & we wanted to try the steak!The sauce was too salty but the cut was perfect. Entree bisque also too salty and little seafood in it. Desserts were great! Table d'hote was very affordable for the location on Grande Allée.“

“The menu is varied and the cuisine worthy of the restaurant's values. On the other hand, I noticed at the bottom of my plate too much vegetable oil and the beets were slightly undercooked. I had a bad stomach ache for two days.In short, despite this inconvenience I can say that the food is excellent and the dishes original. The creative waitress made us a custom gin and tonic. “We had no booking for this restaurant and was lucky to get a table for our early dinner at 5.45pm.The restaurant had a very cosy ambience with perfect lighting and background music. We were greeted warmly by our waitress Karel who introduced the 3 course menu and answered any questions on the menu. I ordered the soft shell crab to start, roast pork belly as a main and the open sesame for dessert.The starter was two pieces of soft shell crab, cooked perfectly with the right amount of flavouring accompanied by fennel cooked three ways. Very tasty and recommended if you are a fan of soft shell crab.Main was roast pork belly accompanied by Parisian gnocchi and parsnip purée. The pork belly and the sauce it was served in went extremely well with the purée and gnocchi as they balanced out the flavour of the sauce perfectly.Lastly, finished with the orange panna cotta with sesame ice cream. The flavours were intricate and very well layered inside the cake. A great way to finish our meal indeed!Both Sylvie and Karel looked after us extremely well. Service was immaculate and made our visit here at the restaurant a 5⭐️ experience! Thanks to the whole team at Le Hobbit for a wonderful meal!“

“A real hidden gem. Nestled among so many fancier places, this is exactly what you're looking for when you just want delicious, easy food. My partner really loved the fish and chips, and I thoroughly enjoyed my burger and especially the poutine -- my favourite poutine of my trip to Quebec City, in fact. The staff was friendly, the drink selection was plentiful, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a straightforward and satisfying meal!“

“We love the Canadian/Maine type of diners. People that blast a mom and pop place like this just don’t get it. Loved the poutines, burger was great, and if you want a large dish, the hot chicken is the way to go. Filled us up after walking all the paths at Montgomery Falls.“
