“The menu was unique and the waiter did an amazing job of explaining the dishes. In addition, an extra treat, chef Robert came to the table. The service was great and we were encouraged to try food that we otherwise might not have tried. The tuna main was excellent, as well as the pork shank.“

“One of the best meals we had in Montreal, and we particularly enjoyed the Bluefin Tartare, Maitake, and Kohlrabi. The sauce used for the Kohlrabi had a nice spicy punch which was really nice. The Grassfed Angus Beef was juicy and tender too!

“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

“A solid five stars! ⭐️ The ham was sliced so thin it melted in the mouth (made us wanting to buy a cutting machine). The Shishito peppers (a daily special) were perfectly grilled to perfection. The wines were both funky and delicious. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cool and relaxing. Absolutely nothing to complain, and we can’t wait to visit again!“

“Beautiful food and service! A bit pricey- an occasional splurge. Had the halibut - cooked to perfection with squash and a burned butter sauce with pumpkin seeds - delicious. Partner had Jagerschnitzel - good sized portion with delicious mushroom sauce. Service by waiter and busboy very attentive and friendly.“

“Went here last night with my wife, and 10 year old daughter. Great location, wonderful and friendly staff. We had raw oysters, lobster fettuccine, risotto, bone marrow, a couple drinks and dessert. Was great food, and experience. We would definitely return next time we are in town.“

“We came here for brunch and were impressed by the wide variety of choices. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. However, the menu was very dirty and sticky, which was off-putting. It would be much better if the menu were updated and cleaned, and some improvements to the food would also be appreciated.“

“What an exquisite atmosphere! I could hardly tell the difference form this restaurant from the actual cave i visited in Afghanistan when i was 12 years old. They served me a samosa that was an absolute delicacy. I prefer these samosas to the indian ones!!! The servers were incredibly polite despite the fact i do not understand arabic! 10/10!“

“Don't be fooled by the gaudy colors and neon, there is excellent ice cream in this little shop. The flavor combinations are excellent, and just as importantly the texture is spot on. I had some horrific vegan ice cream earlier in the day (which I literally threw away!) and was quite wary of Meu Meu, but it was delicious. I appreciate being able to sample the flavors first as well.“

“Meilleur brunch de Montréal ! Exceptionnel, j’ai pris l’assiette du Caribou et une assiette sucrée (gaufre, brioche perdue…) tout est local et fait maison. La cuisine a du goût, des saveurs, une quantité très généreuse. Le service est rapide et parfait. Jamais mangé un brunch aussi bon de ma vie ! Merci Caribou Gourmand pour ce moment parfait.“

“We were greeted warmly and seated immediately, which started things on a good note. The pros: overall, we enjoyed our food and our cocktails. Both were well prepared and tasty. Cons: The experience fell short in other areas. The restaurant lacked ambience and decor, which made the atmosphere feel flat. The service lacked warmth and attentiveness. We had to flag down a server to get salt and pepper, and our soup arrived without spoons. We even had to ask twice for ice for our sparkling water. I had mentioned it was my cousin's birthday when booking, and we were asked again when seated if it was a special occasion. I mentioned again that it was my cousin's birthday. I thought they would bring her a dessert with a candle, but nothing was done. Why bother asking if it won't be recognised??? Unfortunately, we left feeling underwhelmed with an overall unmemorable experience. I wanted it to be a special meal for her, and I can't really say it was.“
