“We stumbled into Cochon Dingue on a lazy Sunday morning with a group of friends, and the sunny terrace overlooking the St. Lawrence River made it the perfect spot to linger over brunch. I ordered the eggs benedict and they were genuinely flawless, hollandaise rich and perfectly balanced without being heavy. The service was warm and attentive even though the place was packed, which honestly impressed us all. If you haven't made this a Sunday morning tradition yet, you're seriously missing out.“

“What a great restaurant: impeccable and friendly service (Our waiter Francis could give a class on a perfect service), food was delicious and elegantly presented. What to wish? This place absolutely surpassed a very pretentious, bad food and rude service at Le Saint Amour we went to the next day. We’ll definitely return to La Planque if we visit Quebec again! Thank you chef and Francis.“

“This restaurant is completely nut free so when we took our 10 month old with a newly diagnosed peanut allergy there, we felt very comfortable feeding him. He got to experience his first restaurant meal!!! Then, when we couldn’t find another safe place to eat, they let us order takeout!! And to top it off, the food was AMAZING!!! Highly highly recommended!“

“Had a birthday dinner with my spouse and daughter, food was excellent but we were really disappointed with the level of service. We were seated in the back with a large group that was arriving and service quality was there but were forgotten. We felt we spent the whole night waiting. We had 2 courses and were there from 7:30 to 9;45. Waited almost half an hour before even getting our order. Disappointed as this was highly recommended by friends. I am hoping this is a one off experience.“

“We had an amazing dinner here the other night. Alberto took such amazing care of us. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked table side to perfection and my husband had the lobster bisque to start which was so-so, but the Lobster Thermadtor for his main knocked his socks off. The prices are so reasonable for what you get. Highly recommend.“

“We visited Sept 21, 2025 for dinner. It was absolutely perfect. The location in the old port area was vibrant and beautiful. The service was great and the food was creative and exceeded our already high expectations based on other reviews. I was hesitant to go there because I’m not a big fan of rabbit, their specialty, but I gave it a try. We had the rabbit rillettes appetizer and rabbit pot pie and rabbit poutine for mains. It was all just amazing! The atmosphere on the heated porch was cozy too! La pin Sauté gets my highest recommendation!“

“Best hot chocolate we had during our visit to Quebec. The breakfast waffle with fruits and marshmallows was a wonderful treat. Chia pudding had perfect level of sweetness. Food were fantastically prepared to our eyes delight and at very reasonable prices. Never had hot chocolate served with sugar crusted mugs! Vibe was also very chill by the windows. Service was fast and very friendly. Would definitely recommend!“

“We got lucky and chose this as our first place to eat in Quebec. It was the best by far. The food, the service, the presentation were superb. Worthy of a Michelin star. Can't recommend it high enough.👍👍👍“

“This was my second time coming to Shaker on Rue Saint-Jean this week while I was in Québec City. Their mixology drinks as well as their appetizers and food is some of the most delicious and flavourful I have ever had. Emrick was my server the second time and he was amazing! Quick, excellent service both times I was here, especially from Emrick. This is a new favourite place for me to eat when I come here. I would highly recommend eating and/or having drinks here if you're in the area.“

“J'ai eu le plaisir de séjourner deux jours au magnifique Hôtel Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, et ma soirée du samedi 2 Mars au Restaurant Chaplain restera gravée dans ma mémoire. Je tiens à exprimer ma gratitude envers M. Eric, le Manager, pour son accueil exceptionnellement chaleureux et professionnel. Un grand merci également à Caroline, notre serveuse attentive, qui a veillé sur nous tout au long de la soirée et nous a guidés dans notre choix du Menu Signature. L'expérience culinaire était tout simplement divine, sublimée par une ambiance des plus agréables. Pour couronner le tout, notre soirée s'est achevée par des digestifs au Bar 1608, ajoutant une note parfaite à notre expérience mémorable. Je recommande vivement l'Hôtel Fairmont Le Château Frontenac et le Restaurant Chaplain à tous ceux qui recherchent une expérience gastronomique exceptionnelle dans un cadre enchanteur. Even the salad dressing taste like its made from scratch.
