Tried the poutine with chicken. Medium size was way too big for me and small would have been fine. The chicken was so good that I would not get poutine next time, since poutine is so overwhelming.“

We ordered a family combo with chicken, Portuguese potatoes, and salad, plus an extra chorizo to go; everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious.
The service was friendly and efficient, which made the whole experience even better.

“Service was fast and friendly from the get go. I got the chicken breast combo with fries and salad. I had never tried Portuguese before, but that sauce was on point. Food was served hot and the sauce was spicy which made it even better. The fries were crispy and delicious as was the chicken well cooked and crispy. I would definitely recommend“

“Best Portuguese food i’ve ever had!!! We ordered the half chicken and for starters we had prawns. When we arrived, we had a complementary salad and bread basket, I used to come here 20 years ago and it’s so great to see it’s still making delicious food with great service. Would 100% recommend!“

“Delicious. Everything. The gazpacho was perfection (compliments to the chef), Patrick and his crew were fantastic, and the ambiance was relaxing and inviting on a hot day (even inside). Be patient with them - it’s worth it. AND the prices were great. Thank you so much for a fabulous lunch! For a traveling international crowd like us, this is the first restaurant we ever found that could accommodate EVERYONE. 😂“

“Delicious !!! Dined on my own, a bit expensive but worth it. I had the special shrimp asparagus toast and the roasted carrots (delish) and the piri piri chicken (good flavor a bit tough and I wanted more pickles). Drank a Rosa which was lovely and refreshing. YUM. Plenty of wheat-free menu options (as a wheat intolerant girly myself- went all out tonight though hence the special non-gf toast).“

“There are no tags to describe this restaurant. I had possibly the best three hour lunch of my life here. Each incredible dish is paired perfectly by the wine suggestions of the impeccable wait staff. If you’ve never seen someone spend twenty minutes at your table preparing the dressing for your Caesar salad, you haven’t lived. And then there was the caribou flambé! An experience I am unlikely to ever have again. If you’re in Old Montréal, skip the tawdry souvenir shops and head straight to Solmar ❤️“

“The food was phenomenal. I had the half chicken, and it was definitely two meals for me. Absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable, small family owned business with incredible staff. My only complaint (and it's not so much acomplaint as an observation) was that it was way too dark in the restaurant. The decor was great, and it had a really good ambiance, but I don't have fantastic vision, and it was slightly problematic for me.“

“Charming little bakery! I’ve been coming here for years ever since my neighbor José recommended the buns he always serves at his table when we share soup together. From that first visit, I was hooked. Pâtisserie Lajeunesse offers not only delicious baked goods but also hearty, homemade-style food that feels prepared with real care. Their sandwiches, especially, are made with such heart and soul, you can truly taste the difference. It’s rare to find a corner store bakery with this level of quality and warmth. “We were looking for alternatives to popular Portugese chicken places while visiting Montreal and stumbled into Campo after learning they were at the Timeout Market. The meal was a bit of a disappointment overall. Ribs were dry and sauce was drizzled on. The chicken was just alright, and the potatoes had an earthy taste that I personally do not like. It's alright as a workday lunch, but left slightly disapointed during travels.
The waiting staff was excellent though. Monday evening staff was very hospitable.“

“✨ Samedi soir inoubliable ✨ Après un concert intimiste Candlelight au 9e, j’ai poursuivi la soirée au réputé Café Ferreira, une véritable institution portugaise au cœur de Montréal. Dès l’entrée, les effluves envoûtants de la cuisine m’ont séduite. Service impeccable, rapidité et fraîcheur irréprochable. 🌊 En entrée, des huîtres sur glace d’une fraîcheur exquise, relevées d’une mignonnette au vinaigre vieilli : un pur délice marin. 🍲 En plat principal, la bouillabaisse aux poissons et fruits de mer — généreuse, riche en saveurs, et tout simplement succulente. J’ai savouré chaque bouchée avec gratitude. 🍮 Et pour clore cette expérience : le pastel de nata maison accompagné de glace… une douceur portugaise qui a parfaitement scellé cette soirée magique. Une expérience culinaire raffinée, où chaque détail était pensé pour sublimer le moment. 🌹“
