“Amazing Thai spot in Montréal, with a great natural wine list and a menu designed for sharing.

We started with Michel Gahier’s Montibulles, a sparkling Chardonnay from the Jura in eastern France. Then moved on to La Salada’s Bufarella 2021, a skin-contact orange wine from Penedès, Catalonia.

For food, we started with Yum Hoi Shenn - raw scallops with nam jim talay - followed by Sakoo Sai Moo, tapioca dumplings filled with pork and peanuts. For mains, we had Laab Ped, minced duck salad with grilled duck hearts; Pla Lui Suan, whole fried Arctic char with pineapple, cashews and lemongrass; and Gai Yang, marinated grilled chicken with Thai dipping sauce.

Finished with Nam Kang Sai, a Thai shaved-ice dessert.

We had a perfect meal at Cup MTL celebrating our dear friend’s fast approaching marriage. Despite a group of 15, we were treated to excellent service by way of our wonderful server Rose - she was the best. The food, of course, was the highlight of our experience. We ordered a wide array of courses, all of which were met by the best of reviews from our group. For me personally, the pork belly Thai pad was some of the best I had. And some of our group who had been to Thailand claimed this was some of the best Thai food they had had. Thank you to the chef of the evening, Ying, for a special meal. We will be back, we will be sending our friends here, and we will be telling everyone we know about this place. Cannot recommend enough.“

“We stopped by with our pup on a Sunday afternoon a couple weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised they let him hang out on the patio with us. The staff brought him a water bowl without even asking, which honestly won us over before the food did. We had the tacos al pastor and they were fantastic, nicely charred and not greasy at all. Parking was easy to find nearby too, which made the whole visit stress free, and we will definitely be back with the dog in tow.“

“Had the Poke Thon Salmon bowl. Not big on salmon or tuna but this was an amazing poke bowl.
Asked what the lady behind the counter recomended and this was the one. I was apprehensive at first because of the salmon and tuna but glad i listened to her.
I dont usually eat poke bowls but this one was great and for a chain resteraunt also. It had just the right amount of rice and salad compared to the other ingredients.

“Thai Express is a franchise and I always expect the same quality no matter where I go in Canada.
That sadly is NOT the case.
This was driven home to me when I was fortunate enough to be in my old neighbourhood in Montreal today- at the Alexis Neon Plaza- in the food court (which can be quite enjoyable, most especially if you take your food out under the vast sun roof, where there is plenty of light and space and right now fun festive holiday lights)

The food at the Alexis Neon’s Thai Express puts all others in the dust.
Fresh, not over sauced with a variety of veges, not just green peppers and onions.
They take the time to inquire about dietary concerns(I’m a gluten sensitive) in addition to the friendly relaxed service.
It feels “homey” in a food court.
Imagine that.

It hasn’t changed in quality since we left that neighbourhood in 2018. And I mean it when I say, I go to that Franchise every where I work out of town and in Montreal expecting the same quality. I am however, always disappointed.
Today did not disappoint. Yummy!

“My friend and I have been going to this Thai Express on Wednesday nights after Church for a while. Sometimes we arrive almost at closing but we are always served kindly by a man named Akash.
