“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

“First off, sorry I missed my 6pm and thank god they had a 8:30pm to accommodate a lustful traveler. The Liverpool House was highly anticipated for my trip to Montreal. Walking into the space is comforting, a wine fridge with a Doc Ponds sticker reminding me of my Stowe trips with my friends, a meticulously lit and primed dining room full of patrons and service moving with grace and intention. Olivia served us tonight and she was an absolute pleasure. But the whole team took care of us. The communication between them must be top tier, because everything that should have been done was, and more. We ordered oysters, a sourdough with chanterelles and pear, deviled eggs with mustard seed, and a pork chop with spatzle. Oh and the mashed potato's! I could not have done without them to soak in the sauce from our entree. A orange wine to start from ESP and a paired Grolleau from Olivia with entrees. Eau De Vie and a beer for desert. Beverage matched the food quality with finesse. If you're visiting Montreal and want to have a memorable meal, I highly suggest spending time here. Thank you LH. “I somehow managed to be given the best seat in the house: next to the kitchen, and right next to the chef, Josh Crowe. The experience of sitting at the bar allowed me to better appreciate the inner workings of this 30-year old establishment. The staff were as kind and supportive of each other, as they were to the guests, who filled the restaurant, bar, and terrace on this warm May evening. I observed Chef Josh and co-owner Barbara Irwin continuously interacting with each staff member. I had never witnessed such a high level of communication, where information flowed seamlessly from the front of the restaurant to the kitchen and vice versa. My meal began with a great cocktail and was followed by a glass of Spanish red, which paired very well with the best pork chop that I have ever had. The 3-inch thick chop was perfectly cooked and the complex flavours of the dish melted together harmoniously. It has been a few years since my last meal there, but I will be back shortly to enjoy the social sidewalk terrace, which offers the best in NDG people watching. You may decide to go to the Tavern for the food, cocktails, and wine list, but you will also be treated to the culture that Barbara & Josh have established over the past decade. They have created something special and seem fully committed to maintaining the same high level of culinary experience and appreciation for their patrons. My overall impression of the Monkland Tavern is one highlighting a collaborative team approach, effective two-way communication, a concentrated attention to every detail of the dining experience, professional courtesy, and mutual respect. You can choose what to put in your burger like in Subway, and no matter what you choose it’s always good.
They stay open late and the employees are cool. The first time I went, I saw an employee leave her counter to bring water to a customer who had a spicy ghost pepper burger. So nice!“

“A wonderful stay with a remarkably welcoming staff! The rooms are spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. They don't offer queen beds, but the double beds we had were perfectly fine. It’s in a great location—about a 15-minute walk to Old Montreal—with convenient underground parking next door for $37 CAD/night. My only small complaint is that the provided shampoo and conditioner weren't great. Otherwise, a fantastic experience“

“Update on 29/2/25 They raised their prices by 25-50 cent a few days later after I went to get fries.

Don't buy the hamburger again, ever since they switched to frozen patties they have been questionable and almost Russian roulette with your results. A real shame because we live 5-10 minutes away and always a better restaurant than other price wise“

“This is plant-based fast-food place on Maisonneuve Blvd West that is open from 8am to 9pm (weekdays) and 11am to 8pm (weekends). They have a menu of vegetarian friendly dishes at reasonable prices. Service was friendly and fine during our recent visit. On the occasion we tried the Galaxy burger with fries and the Asian Fusion power bowl. Both were pretty good for the prices charged. It is good that there are healthy food options like Copper Branch. Would be fine eating here again next time in Montreal.“

“Hotel Bonaventure was absolutely a beautiful place to stay! The way the hotel is designed you would not believe that the pool and garden areas are on the 10th floor! The rooms were very spacious and we also loved the fact that it’s connected to the underground city. Close in proximity to old Montreal as well as China Town and all the shopping on St Catherine Street. We’ll be back for sure!“
