“Average service and a little long. The waitress was there at the beginning to sell drinks but once this step was finished, only one visit to bring our meal. The prices are average high but the meal was excellent. The starter was very good, a little expensive for the portion. The fries were well seasoned and the ribs had lots of meat. The lychee sangria was fresh and delicious. Overall the taste makes up for the price. But the service needs to be improved. Other people who accompanied us never received their starter and had to ask another waitress to get their plate. The bathrooms are very well maintained.

Parking: Large parking lot but the spaces are small and there seems to be a small arena next door. So the parking lot fills up very quickly during events.”

“One of the best meals we had in Montreal, and we particularly enjoyed the Bluefin Tartare, Maitake, and Kohlrabi. The sauce used for the Kohlrabi had a nice spicy punch which was really nice. The Grassfed Angus Beef was juicy and tender too!

“Expectations were extremely high given all the recent accolades and I have to say I was ready to be disappointed. Marco, Jessica, Vanya, and their wonderful team blew my expectations out of the water.

Dishes like the foie cookies with habanada jelly, and the conserve leeks with fermented chips and mussel mayo are nostalgic in flavour, but creative and fun in their execution.

Their wine list is nothing short of impressive, with many references you’d have a hard time finding outside of a passionate collectors personal cave. Prices are also very reasonable by the glass relative to most wine bars around.

Atmosphere is what you hope for with Montreal dining; far from pretentious but very attentive and warm.

We left having gone through half the menu, and I did not feel heavy or overly full at all.

“I've been wanting to experience Joe beef for a very long time. As you walk in, it felt very cozy and welcoming, as we were greeted by this very friendly hostess. The staff were efficient, and our waiter was great as well. He explained the menu in detail. We wanted to share some of the dishes as I knew it would be way too much food, and also because we've also ordered some appetizers. We took home so much food home, the portions for the shareable dishes were very generous. The wait for the food was on the longer side, as well as for the cocktails. Overall, the food was delicious, but my expectations were high, and I think I've expected a tad more, in some of the dishes.”

We had the raw halibut which was similar to a ceviche, the muscles with the salsa which were my favourite, pork and beef skewers, as well as three different salads, the green mint bean salad, the salad with mixed greens, as well as the zucchini salad. We also had the grilled arctic char and the lobster risotto. The risotto portion, I expected to be larger esp as a main, but with all the food we had, we were full.”

Staff were fun and friendly; drinks were fresh, interesting/unique and stiff. Loved the vibe overall and definitely worth making a detour for - it's a great spot for a date, to hang with friends, or to entertain business colleagues/clients. They've completely upped their game even further and cemented its status as one of the best cocktail bars in the city.”
