“Just enjoyed a late lunch. Six of us. The restaurant and bar were very busy including a party of 12. The 2 guy partners were great. Friendly, attentive, on top of everything( with us and the whole restaurant). Food very good. Each couple were given a bottle of wine to go to celebrate the holiday season. “Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“This is probably the best place I have ever eaten. The food is magical and makes you wanting more. Ive been telling everyone about this place. The menu is diverse with something for everyone. This has been my new restaurant to take people to impress them. I’ve brought my whole family here. They were extremely impressed and they are a tough crowd to please….trust me. I’ve also had my whole office go out here one night and they were blown away. My friends from out of town told me that next time they come this is the first place we are going. That’s how blown away they were by the food. I can keep going on about how great this place is. Basically if you have not tried it yet run. This is by far the best new restaurant in Providence“

“We sat at the bar while we waited for our table and Megan made incredible drinks for all of us. The service was incredible with Gianna. We had the calamari to start which was wonderful. I had the scallops and risotto and the rest of my party was equally happy with everything they got. We will definitely be coming back.“

Interior is due for a renovation, but it adds to the classic feel of this location for those who have frequented for years and years like myself. They put that money into great food, which really matters. Only Walt’s with a drive thru, too!“
