We had a few drinks at the bar while we waited for our table to open, which were delicious. Once we got seated, we ordered a cheese plate and their famous New River Rolls. The cheese plate was small but curated so well. We could have eaten 3 orders of the rolls.. so worth it. The food was so fresh and flavorful, and genuinely just awesome to eat. The only caveat to this great place is that if there are a lot of people there is gets LOUD and the smoke eaters seem to be able to keep up, but not 100% of the time. It's like they need to turn them up to really clean the air, because when they do that it clears up nicely. Once when I was there they had only one person working the humidor, bar, keeping the place cleaned, cashing out customers etc. She was very attentive under the circumstances and actually did a great job. Our server was on point with making sure we were well taken care of, offered suggestions and was personable and just over all great.Cocktails were amazing, well balance and tasted great.Food was solid, we all enjoyed our meals from the apps to the dessert. The charcuterie board comes with soft boiled eggs and toasts.I like the lighting in the evening ; nice and dim but I did see some people needing their phone lights to see the menu. I thought it was perfect lighting though.Great mashed potatoes. Very creamy and maybe whipped?The prices of some items are reasonable and others are a bit more expensive. Fries were $9 and they were great but I just think that’s an odd price for that.It does get really loud in here at night on weekends as they try to transition into more of a bar.Parking is obviously a bit difficult but they seem to offer valet services and I chose to walk instead. It’s also not far from the bus for easy public transportation.You should make a reservation if you decide to come here during popular times like Friday-Saturday nights but most other times are fine.“

“Last Sunday, I opened my Yelp app and typed in coffee to find a new place near my yoga class. This place popped up, and I was really impressed. I had the avocado sandwhich special with eggs, avocado, onions, goat cheese, tomato, and balsamic glaze. It was so delicious. The inside of the shop is also super cute and I decided to stay and eat there. After ordering They brought my meal to the table. They have lots of pastries available in the case. Anyone who went to Woonsocket High School in the early mid 2000s knows this was the spot to go to cause it was good and not expensive. They have kept that model alive all these years. The place was packed and yet the service came with a smile, and they were very accommodating by seating us with two others at a table for four. Great speedy service (there was a team of cooks preparing for the rush), and great atmosphere.Now let's talk burger. Any great burger starts with good cuts of beef. I could see that they grind the beef themselves, and this half pound behemoth nestled on a huge bun to support its weight, was fresh, and not frozen. Seriously, they ask you how you want it cooked, like a steak. Isn't that what a burger is...a ground steak sandwich? Every bite was delicious, and regardless of which burger you order, the star is the beef, and the toppings are there for the ride, not to be the main attraction. For those who are gluten-free you could order it without the bread.So if you are craving a tasty burger in Rhode Island, forget all those snooty, trendy bistros that try and get it right, and go to The Abbey and treat yourself to the best burger in the state.“

The food here was some of the best we have ever had, service was a little slow but we could see our waiter running around so it was understandable. However that being said we found our waiter to be rather rude. As mentioned we had been given a gift card otherwise we would not be able to afford to come here, we brought five dollars for tip but had to use some of it to cover the bill. We already felt bad for it but than the waiter made us feel worse by turning to us as we were leaving leaning in and telling us he was sorry for the bad service then dashing off before we could explain or say anything. Now we feel even worse than we already had for the tip and it completely killed the good mood we were in.“
