“My fiancé and I stopped here on a Friday night for the first time. We had tried a handful of other bars in Newport that were all packed but when we walked into Bar 12 it was almost empty. I ordered the Secret Garden cocktail and was so impressed with the presentation! It tasted as good as it looked too! I stopped by again this past Friday with four of my friends and tried the lemon meringue drink this time. It was amazing- super sweet and tasted just like a lemon bar! The prices are really reasonable for the quality of the cocktails and the location. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or small groups, the bathroom was super clean, and overall I’m just really shocked it wasn’t more crowded both times I went!“

“Today we made a pilgrimage to Basil Yu’s restaurant, Yagi Noodles. My son happened to see that Basil had become a successful restaurateur while he was watching one of Guy Fieri’s shows. We had become acquainted with Basil when we were all involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Manchester NH. We were disappointed to discover that Basil wasn’t at the restaurant, however we got over it when we found out it was due to a commitment to a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation. “My brother, Walter, who is a chef always said just try it the way the chef intended. Our chef choice tasting menu was incredible tonight. We loved the pork ragu and our favorite was the fluke. Something my husband and I typically would not order proved to be our favorite dish. Giusto is a culinary experience not to miss. Kyle, Kevin, and Chef Will have created a masterpiece. “Probably the best Easter Brunch we've had in years! The two of us were seated right on time for our 2pm reservation at a spacious 4 top and served water quickly. Kris our server was bright and attentive throughout the dining experience! We started delicious iced tea and an order of Pâté de Champagne with pickled vegetables, cornichons, arugula, and slices of grilled country bread, followed by their velvety cauliflower soup with crispy capers! Wonderful! We both chose their unique eggs Benedict served over a nest of country ham and potato latkes! We finished our repast with coffee and a shared crepe dessert filled with lemon ricotta and berries. Outstanding! All of our food was piping hot and delivered in perfect timing from appetizer to dessert. The classic French Bistro style dining room is always warm and inviting filled with natural light, a great neighborhood view out the windows and wonderful artwork throughout! Check was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served, and we included an extra 5% to the standard 20% included in the check for exceptional service from every staff member who attended us. We may have to make this a yearly tradition!“

The 02878 is the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Now I will have to find another go-to for other restaurants because they will pale in comparison to Localz 02878.“

“Wow, a top New York City type restaurant in Newport. Forget the losers comments from years ago. Dress like you’re going first class. Atmosphere here is awesome…2nd floor is special. Drinks are reasonable and delicious. Our server PATRICK WAS AMAZING. They explain specials and drinks. Most attentive and all foods were perfectly presented. Wanna another drink, ask and within 2 minutes it’s there. We had wild mushrooms and salmon that were incredible as appetizers. Caesar salad was fresh and lettuce crisp. Scallops special had my wife shaking her head. My seafood linguine was overflowing with fresh seafood. The dessert of “Snowball from Hell” can be shared. Our 54th anniversary was unreal.
