“I had a birthday celebration at this restaurant. We sat near the cozy fireplace on a chilly night. The cheeseboard (varied cheeses, focaccia bread, honey, blackberries, nuts, jam, greens) and Pt. Judith calamari were beautifully presented. Excellent bottle of Pinot Grigio from Tuscany, Italy added to food, Staff was very accomodating. I enjoyed mussels, scallops, little necks over pasta in scampi sauce. Others had the salmon as well as the bolognese. It's a very roomy, quiet setting near the water. Staff came out to sing happy birthday with a luscious ice cream dessert with a candle on top. I was pleasantly surprised. We will return to this place for sure!“

“Our server James was spectacular! Made my mom’s 73 birthday dinner an experience! We have talked about him more than the food (which was wonderful as well). Turned my mom’s candles around to say 37 instead of 73!! Her reaction was gold. He made our night and we are not the easiest diners. As a former restaurant manager, I would wish to have a million of him on staff! Thank you for making my mom’s birthday special.“

“Phenomenal pork chop tenderloin, full stop! Don't mess around, someone at the table should get this dish. We had the scallops and the sea Bass as well, the pork chop is a level above these dishes.

Smoky char, tender, juicy, and you must dip in the sauce on the plate to get the full experience. This is a must have entree at The New Rivers restaurant.

Baked Alaska was good and we enjoyed the Corn cake with corn ice cream.“

“Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“TRAFFORDS TESTIMONIAL Perhaps once in a lifetime you find someplace really special for you and your spouse. Seven years ago we went to Trafford’s for the first time. What we remember about it was how it made us feel. Both of us work hard in our professions and to go out to dinner and find wonderful food, excellent and attentive wait staff, and relaxed environment simply made our day. We then came every month at least once mostly twice to enjoy the excellence and serenity at Trafford. Sadly we lost this when the fire occurred for several years. Then absolute joy when Trafford’s reopened and we found the same wonderful food, wonderful staff in a simply beautiful rebuilt building. The joy we felt and the absolute calm and serenity is all back for us. Recently we celebrated my 76th birthday at Trafford with my entire family. It was amazingly special for me and we had our special event upstairs with the entire place devoted to us . Chrissy our server did an awe inspiring service for us making it perhaps one of the most special birthdays I have ever had I have attached a picture of this special moment. I work in the computer software business doing quality assurance 10 hours every day. Being able to calm down and relax completely at Trafford’s is simply a joy for us. “What can I say? Avenue N is definitely one of the best in the state for farm to table comfort food and cocktails. However they really outdid themselves with, what I would call, the new “it” dinner option- the birrio burger. Every bite has flavor & every bite melts in your mouth. I hope this becomes a weekly special due to its uniqueness. My “pear-suasion” drink complimented it perfectly. As always the staff there is top notch. Definitely make a reservation for an epic experience. PS please change up your dessert menu. We need some new creations.“

“First time there for lunch, very large menu, our server Jessica was very nice & helpful with allergies. I had Chicken Marsala, chicken was very tender when most places it’s tough. My husband had Coconut Shrimp & he was extremely pleased! Prices were reasonable… Looks like we found another go to! Absolutely will return!“
