“Sushi is good, but service is not. Hostess made us wait 10 minutes for a table for no apparent reason. Instead of setting us she chose to grab to go orders for those coming in afterwards. There were plenty of open tables. Drinks were sub par. Mine was hot. Service was slow for everything.“

“There fish are usually cooked and tastes delicious. The last two times I had it , it was not so good. The fish tasted fishy I don’t know where they getting the fish from now but it not good. I usually eat fish from them every Friday. I had big bones buffalo 3 weeks ago and last I had catfish steak and fillet. I just don’t buy 1 plate . I buy 3-4 plates. “Easter Brunch was not quite as advertised. Blueberry bread for table was only one piece for two of us to share. We purchased mimosas, but complementary champagne was advertised. The brunch offerings were fair. Perhaps the price should be increased to offer a better brunch experience. We were considering attending the Mother's Day brunch before today's experience. Now we will need to think about it. Our server, Carleigh, was outstanding! She did everything she could to make our experience a pleasant one.“

Update Feb 2025: Chef Charles and Emily our server were absolutely so kindly accommodating about my food allergies and the food was the best it's ever been as was the service. Can't wait to go back to try more options.

Update June 2025: Unfortunately neither the service nor the food allergy accommodation was good. The server said he talked to the chef who said I could only eat one thing on the menu (the gnocchi) which was solidly average. Our server must have had way more than his share of tables. Everybody else in our group had delicious food options and enjoyed themselves so that was a good thing.“

“Visited on a Sunday evening for dinner. The hostess was quick to seat us whereas they were not busy. There was a musician playing the piano in the bar area although we sat in the dining room. We ordered crab claws which are known to be really delicious here but they had run out for the day. We also ordered a blueberry lemon drop off their menu and they no longer offers this option. For my entree I got the lamb chops. They were pretty good, preferably would have cooked them about 2 minutes longer. Our waitress was nice. She had very high energy. Overall pretty good experience.“

“My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant while walking down Highland. We were skeptical at first because there weren’t many people in there but we gave it a shot and we are SO GLAD we did! It was DELICIOUS!! We got the Philly Cheesesteak eggrolls, the Alfredo pasta with shrimp, and their catfish!! PHENOMENAL! Everything was INCREDIBLE! We have raved about this place since leaving and will definitely be back!!!! Only critique I’d like to add is maybe not have 2 totally different music choices playing between FOH & BOH. “Usually everything in Hollywood fish market is good, I love the fish, always cooked right, crispy and not greasy. Today somebody went heavy on the grease, greasy cabbage and the corn bread, grease too heavy on the fish; my favorite was dripping grease and to top it off for my first bad experience there, the young lady at the register, and she was also the bagger, bagged candied sweet potatoes instead of my favorite Mac and cheese. I was disappointed when I got home to eat; soggy and greasy and to top it off no Mac and cheese. I might give them another chance, I mean you're entitled to one bad day.“

“The salmon was amazing! My friend loved the black bean salsa that came with it. Green beans weren't as done as I prefer. Caesar salad was delicious (substituted for one side). My husband said the stuffed veal was a little tough though good flavor. Our server, Joy, was very polite and efficient. Overall a good dining experience for the money, especially if you take advantage of early bird menu, 4-6pm. Best to make a reservation.“

Dinner plates are good too lamb chops smoked salmon and smoked wings you can’t go wrong with either one you choose! Definitely one of my favorite spots in Memphis!!! “Had a great experience at Side Porch Steakhouse! Shyley was super nice and attentive throughout the meal—made the whole dining experience even better. I had the chicken and spicy shrimp, and it was a 10/10. The lemon drop was on point too. Definitely recommend!“

I was quite disappointed when the delivery driver stole the order, but that was all fixed because not only did the owner make sure to contact their support but he personally delivered the order himself with apologies for any inconveniences. 10 out of 10 service!!!“
