“This is a quaint spot with good home cooking. You can't beat the price. It is not what you would expect if you are not a local. So if you are from the city, then I can not give this spot 5 stars for you. But if you are from the country, this is a 5 star spot. Grab a drink from the cooler, go to the counter to place your order and have a seat. We stopped in for dollar hot dog day.

Parking: We found parking in front and walked right in. Would be easy access for a wheelchair.“

“We absolutely LOVE Drakes!! We went yesterday (Wednesday), around 2pm and service was fast. I don’t remember our waiters name, but she had tattoos and was extremely pretty. She was so wonderfully sweet!! She took the time to explain the menu, what she recommended and to tell us about their ingredients. Def recommend Drakes in Bristol, TN!!“

“My husband and I came on Sunday during Rthymn and Roots. Our Jamaican Jerk Chicken was excellent. It is one of my favorite dishes. The fried okra reminds me of something my grandmother would make. It’s delicious and classic southern cuisine. Based on the increased demands from the festival; the staff handled it very well! The customer service we received was above and beyond what we expected under these conditions. I hope the staff are able to get some rest after this. Thanks for the great food and service!!!“

“Dined here for the first time. Husband and his brother had Scallops. I had the 50oz T-Bone, $150.00 with a great bottle of wine. Very nicely done. This dish came with three sides from the left side of the menu excluding one dish which was explained. Long story short I ordered the $150.00 T-Bone with the three sides being the Brussell sprouts, the potatoes and the oysters. Our server c ame back to say there would be and up charge of $5 for the oysters, maybe $8, now mind you this appetizer WAS included with the offer. When the bill came there was a up charge of $10 for the oysters. So, we went from a $5 upcharge to $10 upcharge. The tip was $75.00 which is not a problem but misinformation is.“

“We stopped in off of 81 on a trip heading south, only 8 minutes off the interstate. so glad we did. Only thing to be wary of is the small parking lot, we parked about 1/4 mile away on an abandoned parking lot and walked. I had the clam strip and my wife popcorn shrimp. Way more food than you can eat and it was great. Price was fair and Service super quick. Would have bought seafood to take if the rv fridge and freezer weren't already full.“

“Really cute little gem in downtown Bristol. Sometimes the line for service is long, but it’s worth it. The prices are like $1.50/cookie to $7 for a 3in cheesecake round. Not bad to share! Cute vintage decor. Hot and cold caffeinated drinks“

“Very good menu with a wide variety of items appropriate for any type of diet. Their chicken noodle soup is excellent and their salads are great too. Very nice servers and they keep it clean. It can be busy, especially on weekends, so expect to spend an hour or longer once you are seated and get reservations ahead of time.

Dietary restrictions: Plenty of salads and vegetarian friendly items. They also have lean grilled meats such as salmon, chicken, steaks, and a few seafood options. Their chicken noodle soup is also a very healthy option.

Parking: It's a busy casino. Earlier in the day, parking is usually not a problem. After about 1pm, there's not much parking near the entrance and you might have to do a lot of walking

“We dined here this evening for my mother's birthday while shes in town visiting. The cocktails were excellent, our server was wonderful, crab hush puppies were very good though the dipping sauce was very spicy. The steaks were cooked properly but lacked flavor. The sides left much to be desired, mashed potatoes had a strange aftertaste and my cake and steak Oscar was delivered not in the nicely stacked way it was supposed to be, the waiter explained "it wouldn't stay stacked". There was some unidentifiable crumbly stuff that i think was supposed to be my crab cake but did not have any resemblance of a crab cake and was so spicy I could barely eat it. The sprouts were very hard but had a nice flavor. Everything was overall just ok, nothing to be wowed about. I had much higher expectations for this place, kind of disappointed.“

“Oh my lord! What an unexpected treat! I drive through Watuaga all of the time for work and saw this diner. I looked up the reviews and KNEW I HAD to eat there. I woke up early enough before work to get there this morning and oh my gosh!!! That breakfast would beat any of y'all's grandma's! Portions were perfect and the taste of it all is unmatched! “We waited in the bar for an hour while waiting on our table with was ok. The bartender best described as dazed and confused was on the struggle bus. Another employee gave us bread and she tried to take it and give it to someone else. The employee said I just asked if they wanted that and they said yes. Bartender was flustered and walked off. When she came back she said would you like another drink? My reply was, what I would really like is a napkin and silverware to slice and eat this bread. Ugh. Luckily our table was ready by that time within 30 minutes. The service at the table improved and food was great.“

She took the salad and let my daughter exchange it for whatever else she wanted. And took salad off the bill. Everyone overall today was just so kind and friendly. Thank you all. “We eat here typically when we are out late or I work late. The food is consistent and good. I typically always get the Allstar meal customized to my liking with a blueberry waffle. My husband and son typically get the texas bacon cheese melt. I have also tried a few other things on the menu, including biscuits and gravy, sausage egg and cheese biscuit, and a few of the breakfast bowls. We have never had a complaint with our food. The servers are always on point. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and we never fail to get greeted and treated like family. Also very kid friendly!

“I picked up a ham from here for a dinner, then had to go back the next day and get an additional one. I had so much to do at home to get ready for our dinner. After I picked up a few things at the store, I ended up at Honeybaked Ham about ten minutes before they were open. As I was sitting, this guy came up to my car and asked if I would like to come on in. My first thought was ‘Look, buddy, I’m not going to Karen these people into opening early.’ But it turned out to be the owner, who was very cordial to me, and more importantly, was cordial to his staff. So I got my delicious ham, and I got home about ten minutes earlier than I would have. And when expecting 16 people for lunch when you’ve been at work all night, every minute counted.“
