“This was our second visit to Foresta and we had an incredible experience. Daisy was fantastic, very helpful and attentive. All the food was fresh and tasty with good portions. I highly recommend the tteok-bokki. The special scotch drink (Last Train?) was a revelation. The ambiance is super nice, and about as unique as you can get around here. Definitely has become a local favorite of ours. We look forward to going back!“
“I like sitting on the roof. It is a much nicer atmosphere than the cellar. It’s too bad there are two different menus for the cellar and the roof. I do enjoy the cellar menu but like the view from the roof. The food is always great both upstairs and downstairs.“
“Home Slice is the greatest diner in SW VA. The waitresses will call you honey, sugar, baby, or any combination of the three. The food is comfort food at its finest (biscuits and gravy are wonderful) and there's lots of old ads and posters on the walls. I love this place. My waistline, not so much. ?I haven't had any of their ice cream but it looks great too!“
“Great food, just a little pricey for what you get. Three of us went and got drinks, burgers, fries, and one added a small side salad (homemade dressing was great). With tip, came out to over $80. Apparently, they charge extra for fries (and there weren’t even that many), and the burgers themselves cost and more than most places we’ve been to that actually include the fries. Still recommend overall based on quality of food.“
“Me and my friends go here at least once a week and they have always been amazing! The food is always incredible and the service is outstanding! Truly a great experience and an incredible gem in Abingdon! We always ask for Trey, he’s amazing, funny, and always makes sure we have a great time! You can tell all the employees really care about their job and making sure you always feel welcome:) we appreciate you guys so much!!“
“1st visit to this special historic tavern for drinks & desserts while visiting Abingdon to celebrate a birthday. The staff was very friendly and helpful to assist us in our celebration. Melanie is a very experienced SUPERB bar tender! We look forward to visiting there again for dinner too.“
“Sarah our server was so accommodating. We had a 12 year old at our table, it was his birthday. Sarah made sure it was a special dining experience for him and the rest of the party! The entire staff, Susanne the bartender, Willie the pastry chef, and the Head Chef made for the best evening! Lasting memories indeed! The Qs“
“If you've ever been to Abingdon, VA, you'll know that there aren't many upper class restaurants to have business meetings for lunch. The Peppermill just happens to be one of the few in the eclectic and historic neighborhood. To that point, the restaurant is a converted 2 story house. The dinning rooms upstairs are literally the guest rooms. Hardwood floors throughout, it looks like a house right out of a movie - great atmosphere.I happened to have the Blue Cheese French Onion soup - VERY UNIQUE. I've honestly never had this combination before, but it works! Now be warned, the strong blue cheese and french onion may not work for everyone, but I happen to love blue cheese, and I love french onion soup, so it works for me.I had the Caesar salad. you had the pick of protein and i picked the steak medallions medium rare. Truly delectable, juicy, and very tender cut. it's the perfect balance of trying to eat healthy and indulging in steak for lunch at the same time. When you first arrive, the hostess will ask you if you are going to see a "show" also. the restaurant is associated with the very small movie theater and they may prioritize your service based on your showtime. Good option for entertainment if you're in town for "dinner and a show". I was here on biz for lunch, so no show for us.“
“I truly love this Abingdon spot. People from all walks of life come together & enjoy this spot. The food, cocktails & service are beyond awesome. Tonight I thoroughly enjoyed my lobster roll & fancy fries. If you haven't already, check them out, the next thing you know, you'll become a regular.“
“I kinda like my fried fish to not taste like pancakes. It’s a sweet batter that helps if you get spicy.People are super nice, place is spotless clean & doesn’t smell like last summer’s fish fry.If your sense of flavor is more savory, might be a little sweet for you.“
“The food was delicious. I love their smokey grilled chicken. It was tender loved the smokey flavor. My waitress was quick to take our order, and kept my drink refilled. Ask multiple times if I needed anything. The music wasn't loud so I could hear my friend talk. Very enjoyable meal.“
“Easily visible from the street, this Waffle House had plenty of parking.Inside, the restaurant was clean and had a good amount of seating. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent (I had a waffle) and good value. This was definitely one of the nicer Waffle Houses I have been to.“
“We traveled to Abington to the barter theater to see a play. A local person told us of this restaurant. We were very pleased with everything. The food and service were excellent. My wife had a turkey and bacon sub. I had a country fried steak covered with mushrooms gravy and onions with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We both had side salads. We enjoyed the whole meal.“
