“Love going here! Tbh the food is nothing to write home about, but there is no better way to spend a nice evening than outdoor seating, watching the sunset over the lake and (not) feeding the ducks with friends and family! The chips and queso are great and I do recommend! You can also enjoy watching football games inside on tv when it's cooler weather (and I assume other sports).
It's so nice having this gem here out of the way of the busier parts of town! Also my husband is very gluten sensitive and they have never made him sick! Very few places can claim that! If the food tasted better we'd eat here every day!“

I have had several favorite Mexican restaurants in the Chattanooga area, from La Bamba to El Fogon...but there's very little chance that any place would displace my newest and "bestest" favorite, Spanglish (previously Las Morelianas). I went there yesterday with three friends, we all had completely different dishes, and we were all 100% completely satisfied. Although the tastes of each dish (we all had a bite of each other's) were all perfectly appreciated by all, the big kicker for me was that the manager came around, after my other three friends had been served their entrees, and explained that he was sorry that mine was delayed, but that it had come out of the kitchen on time, but he was not pleased with the way it looked, so he sent it back and had it remade. THAT is customer service, and THAT is what makes a restaurant a cut above the rest. I am sorry that I can't remember our lovely waitress's name, but her attention to our need (including refilling our drinks before we even asked) was top notch. I can't say enough good things about this place; everything was not only a cut above the rest, it was all simply perfection, and all four of us agreed on that. Eat Here! You won't ever regret it.“

“I stopped by this place a while ago thinking it was just a shop that happened to sell tacos, only to be pleasantly surprised that it was a full authentic taco restaurant. I bought three tacos to try them out, and they were absolutely delicious. The owner was incredibly friendly and a pleasure to talk to, and the prices were very reasonable, especially for a family-owned restaurant. I enjoyed it so much that I came back again to bring my girlfriend, and we were both delighted. The atmosphere is comfortable, lively, and rich with culture. As a Hispanic myself, it was especially nice to find a place that felt so welcoming and authentic. This is definitely going to become one of my regular spots!“

When I went in they were having taco Tuesday and the tacos are only $1.80. They give you unlimited chips and salsa. The burritos were delicious. “First time here. Tried a grilled burrito and a cheese pizza to compare Mexican and Italian offerings. Both were first rate. Burrito ingredients fresh and tasty. “I was on the hunt for some authentic Tacos and decided to give Taqueria la Monaraca a try. I was greeted by a friendly welcoming host.. I ordered 2 al pastor tacos and the seasoning was just right.. not too overpowering..Homemade tortillas were heaven..they were a light consistency ... It was like eating a cloud taco 💯 amazing..I got a red salsa($picy on the tongue🔥🔥) but I like it hot. Green salsa had a nice mild flavor. They take phone, take out and sit down orders. I really liked and enjoyed the taqueria vibe and decor. Hey if you enjoy authentic Mexican food I would totally recommend. The mom and pop places are the best and I'm glad I rolled the dice and took a chance. I will be back Taqueria la Monaraca.“

“First time at Mean Jeen’s today! Oysters with the pineapple mignonette were *chefs kiss* Po’ boy was slammin. Boiled peanuts were worthy of the sketchiest gas station that has the highest yelp reviews in the state (if you don’t know, that’s the highest praise). The owner took care of me, she’s a queen. I most of all suggest the batched white tea shots. They come in cute little airplane bottles (green tea shots are also available). You won’t regret a single thing you have here, but the best part was the vibe. 12/10 stars. Do recommend.“

“Very cute place, authentic! Regarding prior bad reviews - the prices have been updated. I was not charged higher than the menu price and got 3 tacos. The meat was packed in there and seasoning was perfect. I walked in when it was really busy, put a Togo order in and I was out within 15 minutes. Friendly staff and there’s a place to wait for to-go orders. There was good music on the TVs/speakers and the tables all have charm! Will be back, Al pastor was my favorite!“
