“I am such a rabid fan of this place that everyone who ever visits me asks to be taken to the magical sounding coffee shop I’m always going on about. It isn’t just a coffee shop, after all. It’s an absolute cornerstone of the community, a well worn quilt and a blank canvas alike for old and new friendships to form and flourish, a place that indeed fuels the dreams and days and relationships of all who enter it. I met Jordan, the owner, when Calamity’s was just a coffee cart in an antique shop. I was immediately enchanted with her and blown away by the coffee she served. As the shop has evolved into what it is now, my love for it has only grown. Jordan cares about the staff as much as she cares about her customers and it pays dividends in the incredible bonds they form with the public. Everyone is always clamoring to talk to them because they’re fun and cool and make you feel welcome. I never leave without feeling- and I am not exaggerating- celebrated. It’s in the air there, and it is rare I leave without engaging with or seeing others engage with strangers as if they are familiar neighbors. I am excited to go there, every time, without fail. I started by falling in love with the Sydney, a lavender oat milk latte named for one of the earliest supporters of Calamity’s. The lavender is even better now, as it’s made in house. On a hot summer’s day I can’t resist a Queen Butters- a tasty, colorful blended energy drink that makes me feel straight up whimsical. Their Pumpkin Pie Latte has no competition that I have found for real pumpkin flavor and warmth. And the Dalton will never do you wrong if you’re needing something a little less sweet and a good deal more caffeinated. But truly? You can’t go wrong here. I have loved every bit of food sold in the shop, always sourced thoughtfully and almost exclusively locally made. I have also bought a blue million stickers and pairs of funky earrings and even clothing items and mugs and odds and ends. This shop is the essence of everything I love about Oak Ridge and you are robbing yourself if you don’t check it out when you’re in town!“

“We visited U Brew Coffee for the first time today and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Andrew, the owner, was incredibly friendly and made the entire process feel approachable and fun. He walked us through the pour-over process step by step and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, even for a beginner. U Brew has an impressive selection of high-quality coffees to choose from, along with excellent equipment and brewing options. You can tell Andrew really knows his craft and genuinely enjoys helping people learn and find what they like. The shop itself has a great vibe. Comfortable couches, plenty of tables, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Overall, this was a fantastic first visit, and we’ll absolutely be back. Highly recommend checking it out if you enjoy great coffee and an inviting, welcoming experience.“

“Obsessed with Scooters coffee! I typically order either a large black hot coffee or large black hot Americano and have never been let down. The brew is fresh, hot, and served by friendly employees. The insulated cardboard cups are the best around- no need for a separate sleeve, and I've yet to experience a leak from the lid. Hands down, my favorite go-to for a quick coffee.“

“This location is amazing! I was running super late for work and thought I put my coffee order and Lo and behold I did not! I put it in,

when I pulled in the parking lot. When I walked in they were working on a HUGE coffee order and I said can I cancel? I don’t have time to wait. The barista said no worries I’ll make it right now!

In less than 5 minutes the coffee was in my hand and I was walking out the door. Despite the huge order! They are always friendly attentive and polite!

I’ve had so many wonderful family memories there with my grandkids and one son and daughter. They also make the best Boba tea that I’ve had in either Sevier or Knox County. I love that they have the swing for the kids and the outside entertainment and the fire pits and outside heat for when it’s cold.“

We are aware of the many healthy food options at Whole Foods and love what they have. We got a variety of salad options and some warm food options, as well as great dessert options. Great alternative to the many burger options. The staff is very friendly and the store was very clean.“

“I brought all 5of my kiddos in post soccer games for a Saturday sugar rush. We tried several different flavors and all were gobbled up in seconds! A family fan favorite was the cookies and cream PLUS the create your own option. Warm and gooey goodness!
All employees were super helpful and upbeat paired with quick service. We were even able to purchase some of the cute rubber ducks on display which was an added bonus!

“This was my first time visiting Honeybee Coffee Co! The industrial design and elements, such as the light fixtures, adds a cool and unique touch to the atmosphere.

I was especially impressed by the roastery room available for customers to view as beans are roasted in house! Unfortunately, when I arrived there were none roasting, but I’d love to come by again to watch the process. There was also an outdoor patio that I plan on checking out next time I visit.

Looking at the menu, although there were some seasonal options available, the overall selection was pretty limited. From the financial perspective of the company, I can understand there are probably multiple reasons why a limited menu is helpful. However, I would’ve loved to see more options for add-on’s such as syrups or a wider selection of alternative milks.

I ended up ordering an iced latte with brown sugar and macadamia nut milk. It was delicious! I will for sure be back to this shop when I’m in town.“
