I ordered the fried catfish plate with Mac n cheese, fried okra, and cucumber salad for pick up… Food was ready in 10 minutes and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! Catfish was super crispy and seasoned well as was the Mac n cheese!! Definitely left us satisfied and next time we’re in town, we will be dining in! SOO GOOD!!!!“

“I like to have business lunches at Seasons because the service is quick, the food is good, and the cost is reasonable. I made a reservation and asked to be seated at a booth in the bar. I intentionally arrived a few minutes before my reservation as I was meeting someone I did not know and did not want them to have to wait for me. When I arrived, I explained to the hostess that my guest, whom I did not know, would be meeting me. She assured me my guest would be led to my table once she arrived. I was led to a booth in the very back of the bar where it was difficult to see people arriving. After about 10 minutes, I went back to the hostess to remind her I was meeting someone, I told her my guest's name, and I was once again assured my guest would be bought to my table. Several minutes later, the hostess leads a woman to the booth next to mine. The woman tells the hostess she was meeting someone. We both sat alone for another 5 minutes before we both started to get out from our booths to ask if we were meeting each other. We were! Very embarrassing and both of us sat alone unnecessarily. This was very unprofessional on the part of the host staff who could have easily asked my guest her first name, assuming they paid any attention to my request.“

Today, I’m sharing my experience at Char Restaurant, located on Highland Street in Memphis. This is a fine dining restaurant, and I chose it to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We made a reservation for two, and everything from the moment we arrived was smooth and welcoming.

We were seated promptly, and the atmosphere was elegant and relaxing, just as you’d expect from a fine dining establishment. The staff were courteous and professional. I don’t recall the name of our server, but he took excellent care of us throughout the evening.

🍽️ What We Ordered:
Fried Chicken (Main Course) – Served with vegetables and gravy, this dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was spot on.
Shrimp and Grits with French Fries – My friend ordered this and mentioned it was the best she’s ever had. The shrimp were well-cooked, and the grits were creamy and flavorful.
Blueberry Banana Pudding – This dessert was a delightful surprise. I had asked the server to bring it out as a birthday surprise, and he did so perfectly — bringing it out when she wasn’t looking, which made the moment even more special.
💬 Final Thoughts:
We had a wonderful time celebrating, and my friend truly enjoyed her special day. I really appreciate the hospitality and attention to detail shown by the Char team. The food, service, and ambiance all came together to create a memorable experience.

We’re definitely planning to return soon to explore more of the menu.

“Usually everything in Hollywood fish market is good, I love the fish, always cooked right, crispy and not greasy. Today somebody went heavy on the grease, greasy cabbage and the corn bread, grease too heavy on the fish; my favorite was dripping grease and to top it off for my first bad experience there, the young lady at the register, and she was also the bagger, bagged candied sweet potatoes instead of my favorite Mac and cheese. I was disappointed when I got home to eat; soggy and greasy and to top it off no Mac and cheese. I might give them another chance, I mean you're entitled to one bad day.“

“This is a great restaurant for an upscale lunch. I love the lobster salad and get it every chance I can. On this visit, I paired it with the butternut squash and apple soup. “It has been a while since we have been to Amerigo. We've been snowed in all week and we had a gift card, so we were looking forward to our dinner. We were both disappointed in the food this time. Every other time the food has been outstanding and it jut wasn't on this visit. My husband had his favorite, the cannelloni. I had the chicken Marsala. Hubby said his was not as good as he remembered it being, but it was still okay. My Marsala was bland. I brought half of it home to doctor it a bit before eating it again. Marcus did a good job and was very attentive. However, we did not get any bread until after we finished our salads. We missed having it before and during the salads. He did bring us very hot bread right after the salads and it was delicious. After a very disappointed dinner, we were looking forward to the best part, the tiramisu. For years, we have raved about it and always order it when going to Amerigo. It has always been at the top of our list of favorite desserts. Not this time! It was dry and they must have changed chocolate vendors as the chocolate was not the same delectable flavor that it has been in the past. We left not sure if a next visit will even be worth it. That makes me sad as Amerigo has always been one of our favorite "special" places.“

“Had so much fun on Friday the 3rd we came back on the 4th as well. Our first trip to Beale st and loved it. Food was awesome and came out quick. Shout out to Maddie who took awesome care of us. That gal will hustle and is fun. When we came back Saturday and saw her again it was a no brainer and asked for her section. Yep made another great night. The live music was great they play great and engaged the crowd. Couldn’t have been better guys Our trip was just to see Memphis and Beale street in particular and it was a huge success. Next trip and Silky O’Sullivans is top of our list of must do items.“

“We went to dinner tonight for my stepson‘s birthday. One person ordered the Mojito Mocktail and another ordered the pear martini. Both said their drinks were tasty. We had the spinach queso dip as an appetizer, and that did not disappoint. My stepson ordered the prime rib and the stuffed baked potato. The prime rib must’ve been an inch thick! And the stuffed baked potato was ginormous. My husband ordered the baby back ribs. And they were cooked to perfection. They did not fall off the bone, thankfully. They had a nice bite. And the sauce was delicious. My mom had the Cajun trout. She said it was full of bones, unfortunately. The lighting was very dim in the restaurant and she couldn’t tell what she was eating. So she had to pack it up and bring it home. Although she did say what little fish she got to eat was tasty. The southern coleslaw was tasteless and a disappointment. I had the Ahi tuna salad. I asked for dressing on the side. When it came, there was a huge mound of lettuce. I did see the ahi and the big half of avocado on top of the lettuce. But about a third into my salad, I finally discovered wasabi, the wonton crisps, and the pickled ginger. It was not a good way to present the salad. At all. The ahi was prepared perfectly, and it tasted great with the dressing, ginger, avocado and wasabi. Just wished I discovered the latter sooner! The complementary birthday carrot cake was super moist and delicious. Overall, we had a great time at the restaurant.“
