“Ruth's Chris Steak House will always be my favorite restaurant in Memphis! The steaks are absolutely delicious — so flavorful that no sauce is even needed. The Caesar salad is always a great choice, and I love their garlic mashed potatoes. We also ordered the macaroni and cheese without the lobster. It wasn't as good as usual this time since it wasn't served hot and fresh, but overall the food and service were still excellent. Overall rating: 9/10 ⭐️ Definitely still one of my top favorite spots in Memphis for a great steakhouse experience.“

“I took my mom here for Mother's Day. It was our 1st time. We were seated shortly after check in and our server was very good. The sea bass was delicious. The dessert was just the right size. I got the Belgian chocolate smore & it was really good. My fiance got the raspberry cheesecake & loved it. We will definitely be back!“

Today, I’m sharing my experience at Char Restaurant, located on Highland Street in Memphis. This is a fine dining restaurant, and I chose it to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We made a reservation for two, and everything from the moment we arrived was smooth and welcoming.

We were seated promptly, and the atmosphere was elegant and relaxing, just as you’d expect from a fine dining establishment. The staff were courteous and professional. I don’t recall the name of our server, but he took excellent care of us throughout the evening.

🍽️ What We Ordered:
Fried Chicken (Main Course) – Served with vegetables and gravy, this dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was spot on.
Shrimp and Grits with French Fries – My friend ordered this and mentioned it was the best she’s ever had. The shrimp were well-cooked, and the grits were creamy and flavorful.
Blueberry Banana Pudding – This dessert was a delightful surprise. I had asked the server to bring it out as a birthday surprise, and he did so perfectly — bringing it out when she wasn’t looking, which made the moment even more special.
💬 Final Thoughts:
We had a wonderful time celebrating, and my friend truly enjoyed her special day. I really appreciate the hospitality and attention to detail shown by the Char team. The food, service, and ambiance all came together to create a memorable experience.

We’re definitely planning to return soon to explore more of the menu.

“Entire experience was nothing shy of exceptional. We made reservations of a party of 9 for my mom's 79 birthday party- and a surprise party at that. Everything was fantastic- Heather took great care of us and was so attentive. I would highly recommend requesting her if you want the best service. Entire team at Capital Grill was outstanding. Greg the manager came in to say Happy birthday and to thanks for celebrating at the restaurant. Thank you again for making the night for my mom extra special. 5 star!!“

“Folk’s Folly is our family’s choice for group and small celebrations. The private rooms are ideal for larger groups. It is our #1 choice for birthday dinners. The buttery tender filets are our go to meals.. perfectly seasoned, seared and cooked to temperature. I personally love the sweet mash as a side but they are all good. There are some new items on the menu, too. We tried the strawberry shortcake last night. The kindness of the hostesses, knowledge and care of the servers and the FOOD last night solidified are selection for Folk’s as our choice for a premier steakhouse dining experience.“

Sides were simple and done right, exactly what you want with a solid steakhouse meal.
