“Past through after getting off the cruise and I wish we had one of these in Atlanta because the price was perfect and the food was even better. We took some chicken back to the room and later we realized we had no microwave and we ate it cold and it was still good!!!“
“Love, the fact that they have no seed oil or vegetable oil or can. They use the best materials. They have a large gluten-free selection, both in the food and pastries.. All the syrup are made in house. Free parking front and back patio. Great for date night girls night out or just anything at all.“

“The food does not have Cuban flavor. I had the vaca frita and it had a condiment like curry which was overpowering. The congri was salty and greasy and it didn’t taste good. The croquetas were round and made of pork and cheese, they were not croquetas. The tamal cubano was good and the yuca con mojo. The cafe cortadito was awful made with evaporated milk. Very disappointed. Overall.“

“We’ve been wanting to visit Tex-Chick for quite some time. The location is quaint yet huge in culture and flavor. Upon walking in we were greeted with the warmest smile from owners, Marilu & Grace. In a matter of a second I felt that I had transported myself back to my childhood days growing up in Puerto Rico ❤️. Everything we ordered on the daily special brought me so many memories aside from being so fresh, flavorful & delicious. They work so hard so make sure all is cooked fresh and take pride to make sure you’re happy. Please go support our local businesses. We need more Titi Marilus & Grace in Houston. Weeeeepa 🇵🇷“

“I woke up craving Seco’s legendary spinach enchiladas. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I am tired of my cooking so I called in to place an order to go for lunch. Chef Seco answered the phone and said he is sorry but they aren’t open for lunch right now. I said oh darn I’m craving your spinach enchiladas but I’ll call back another time. He said he was there accepting a delivery and would make them for me! I will never forget this and my belly is so happy right now. These enchiladas are to die for. As well as the soups, brunch and everything else. Thank you Chef Seco! On a side note-my family started frequenting Jalapeños regularly when I was about 7 or 8 (I’m 40) and I’ve been ordering the spinach enchiladas since then. I also used to work there in high school as a waitress.“

“As a Mexican, it’s kinda strange for me to add pico de gallo, lettuce and cheese to a birria taco but it was delicious on its own way. It really impressed me that all their sauces were spicy, which is hard to find in Mexican food out of Mexico. Even the michelada was way better than some I’ve tried in my home town. This is a nice place to have delicious Tex-Mex food.“

“Tried El Sol. The food was honestly really good, and the atmosphere itself had potential. My biggest issue was the music choice — I completely respect people’s faith and beliefs, but personally I’d rather enjoy my meal without nonstop church music playing the entire time. It felt a little too forced for a dining experience.
Service was hit or miss depending on who helped you, and they definitely charge for every little extra… even down to the limes. 😅

“I CANNOT say enough about this place. The food is BEYOND exceptional. Homemade everything. The tamales (although made locally and not in house) they fall apart in the most perfect ways. The best I have ever had (better than Delia’s IYKYK). The churros…OMG they are perfection. The melted high cocoa chocolate was on point! And THANK YOU for making them soft! So tired of overly fried. Empanadas are a must and the edamame was splendid (I had to order 2 because my son ate my entire plate of them). Lovely energy, sweet and attentive staff. Priced right! It is a MUST stop! Can’t wait to return next time in Houston <3“

“This was the first time I tried this place recommended by my sister. I had the Gordita and it was huge and it was really good. I don’t eat avocados but this was the first I ate it cause it was cut small in the Gordita. I highly recommend trying it. This place is good. 😊“

“Great rotisserie chicken and excellent sides. I had the 1/4 chicken with black beans and a Greek salad. My wife had a Chik’n sandwich and coleslaw. Everything was surprisingly delicious and perfectly seasoned. We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.“
