They always serve kale with the thick stems and the food is just bland. Healthy food can still have more seasoning. I wish the East location had more energy. It needs some brightness to it. Despite all this, I am a regular. It's hard to find truly healthy food in Austin.“

I’ve been here before with my family so I knew the food was incredible but our server John’s recommendations and commitment to us having a great dining experience was what made our night. I’ve worked in upscale dining for many years and I always strive to be like him for our guests! I know I already said I wasn’t surprised by the food being good- but my boyfriend ordered the redfish (one of the more expensive dishes at $38 dollars) and was completely blown away! I never justify ordering the pricier dishes on any menu so believe me when I say this was truly worth every cent. We also had the mussels and the braised beef shoulder and loved every bite!“

The Beef Rib is melt in your mouth, fall off the bone, perfect meat fat ratio, smokey delicious goodness and completely stole the show! The other meats are great with that tender smoked goodness but the beef rib is where it's at! We tried three sides as well and the Mexican Corn is off the chain delicious! Smokey, spicey, creamy and addicting! Black's has been doing this for 90 years and it shows, everything was the best! We'll be back and highly recommend you skip the lines at the other places and head over to The Original Blacks!“

“Place is great! It’s consistent with the service, food and atmosphere. Every single family and friend we’ve gathered with absolutely LOVES this restaurant. We have been coming here for years and the tourists that feel it’s a “tourist trap” need to understand what type of restaurant they are walking into- local, great food, service and family owned. Knockout martini is amazing, Bob Armstrong dip is unbeatable. The burritos and beef fajitas are the best by far. We will continue to support Austin’s favorite Tex mex restaurant and clearly the people that matter will too.“

The staff are super informed about the dishes and are ready with recommendations. Bella was delightful and obviously a veteran server. The outdoor patio has a great view and is ready for hot or cold weather so is pleasant all the time, definitely ask for patio whenever available. And the food! Each dish is delicious but always listen to the current special as that’s always a solid choice. My most recent visit was large shrimp with a fruit salsa and chips. So delicious. The sauces make all the difference and take you right to Mexico.“

One of my favorite breakfast places. I’ve been coming here for years, and the food is consistently delicious.

Even when it’s busy and full of people, the space still feels comfortable — the air stays fresh and easy to breathe. That matters more than most realize.

“My niece Kayla and I walked into Nothing Bundt Cakes with the baby Kori, fully big-backed and wide-eyed, staring at all the bundtlets like they owed us money. Did we really NEED cake? No. But word on the streetz was there were new Valentine’s Day offerings, so there we were.

Kayla, creature of habit, stuck with the White Chocolate Raspberry. IYKYK. I locked eyes immediately with the new Biscoff Cookie Butter cake and it was over for me. One and done. I had rewards points through the app and I didn’t want to blow them all in one visit, so I bought one cake and used some of my points for the other.

Shoutout to our server (receipt says “Luxe C” but I wish I’d asked her name) who absolutely looked out for me and charged me for the cheaper cake while letting me use points on the more expensive one. That’s elite customer service right there. I SEE you, I APPRECIATE you.

COOKIE BUTTER CAKE VERDICT/GRADE: B+

The cake had balance without feeling overwhelming. It was absolutely Biscoff cookie butter in flavor without tipping into cloying and artificial. Balanced without too much “sweet on sweet” each bite. The cake is also slightly dense in texture, which I love, but only if it’s moist. And this one was moist. There are biscoff cookie pieces throughout the cake, adding more to the texture and flavor, and the spice level of the cake is spot on. Definitely an enjoyable dessert all the way through without becoming too much.

Personally, I wouldn’t have minded a thin layer of cookie butter and cream cheese running throughout the center, but the topping alone was enough and it easily spread over/into each bite.

Note: Years ago, I had a rough experience at this location. Completely different vibes now. The current team is warm, joyful, and genuinely kind. Whatever changed, keep it. And thank you.“

“My friends and I tried their Turkish coffee and it is super! Their chocolate cake is fabulous! The blueberry scones are great, carrot cake delicious! The chocolate cake is the best and my husband and I return for it. We order a chocolate cake for a birthday celebration. Their chocolate cake is the cake that chocolate lovers should not miss if they visit Cure!! I love the place!! I return with no disappointment.
