“I used to deliver here over 30 years ago when i worked for Braun beef. Always wanted to eat her because everybody was always positive and the restaurant always smelled great. I had seen the reviews on tiktok and reminded me about this place. Holy hell! The chilaquiles plate was one of the best I've had! The refried beans are really tasty! Papas rancheras were great, and the barbacoa was perfect! 10/10 i will be back!“

“Whatever you do, DON’T confuse this La Fonda with other ones. THIS IS THE LOCATION YOU WANT. I highly recommend this place for after work events. It’s upscale, but in all the best ways. If you’re into architecture, landscaping, food and culture. This is a San Antonio must stop.“

“I'm not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite place to eat in San Antonio. Located near the airport in a tucked away location, RO-HO Pork & Bread is a hidden gem. This is comfort food at it's finest. Ro-Ho has many great things on the menu, but they are best known for their Torta Ahogada, and it's what I get almost every time. The torta is always hot, the carnitas cooked to perfection, and the tomato salsa is to die for. You can get the torta with straight carnitas or you can mix it up with carnitas, pork stomach and skin, which is what I usually get. The torta also comes with cabbage, onion, radish and lime. No matter how you order it, it's going to be great! The place is super cool, with Mexican artwork and music. There is inside seating and an outside covered patio as well. Everything you can get to drink from the cold case is always ice cold. And they serve one of my favorite Mexican beers, Victoria. Chef Rojo is often around and greets customers. The ladies that work the register and food line are so friendly, and will answer questions if it's your first time. The place fills up quickly at lunch, so keep that in mind. I drive clear across town for my Torta Ahogada fix, if that says anything! Check this place out!“

I was pleasantly delighted by the meal I was served this evening. This intimate, locally owned establishment is a must try. The food was well balanced with soft deep flavors combining Ernesto’s smooth, savory signature sauces over perfect portions of meat and vegetables.
For dinner, I decided on the surf and turf special in a light buttery citrus sauce. It was fabulous! I didn’t want to finish because then it would be gone.
I had to try a desert after dinner was such a success and, oh am I glad I did. I ordered Ernesto’s desert which this evening was a crepe in a delicate caramel sauce with fresh almond garnish. We also tried the fresh cinnamon ice cream recommended by Chef.
You can tell from the food, to the service, to the owner greeting the patrons by name, these owners care!! Definitely one of the most enjoyable meals I have has in a while!“

“We met up with friends we hadn’t seen in 11 years, and Mi Tierra Café y Panaderia turned out to be the perfect spot for it. From the moment you walk in, the decorations really catch your eye — colorful, festive, and full of character everywhere you look. It feels like you’re stepping into a piece of San Antonio’s history. We absolutely loved the food, and to make it even better, a mariachi band came by our table and performed for us, which made the night feel extra special. We got so caught up in conversation that we ended up staying for a few hours, and our wonderful server took great care of us the whole time. She was attentive and friendly, and we made sure to tip her well for her hard work. The only downside was the long line at the bakery, so we didn’t get a chance to try it this time — but that just gives us a reason to come back. Overall, it was a memorable night at a truly unique San Antonio classic. Highly recommend!“

My coworker actually told me about this place and we came here after our nightshift. I was surprised this place opens at 530am... So early! But you have to come early or they'll sell out. There were already other people coming in as well.
You can buy the barbacoa in two different ways so I got one pound of each. I also got some big red to go with it (apparently a must), corn tortillas, pico de gallo, and hot sauce.
The barbacoa literally melts in your mouth!!! I ate almost all of the two pounds myself lol.
I also love that this place is family owned. The girl at the counter was so nice :)“
