“In a bad year for crawfish when none of the usual stores in central Texas had it, especially with Sunday pickup, we almost resorted to a lowly shrimp boil. Pops Crawfish came through big with some of the biggest and baddest crawfish I’ve ever bought. Good price (all things considered), great people, and a fantastic quality. Only 9 dead out of two sacks on a Sunday is a big win. I’ll never trust our annual crawfish boil to anyone else.“

“I saw The Shore on my Google map and clicked on the link. I saw their Happy Hour Menu and noticed they had 1/2 price Oysters and several other choices. We decided to stop there on our way back home. We got there at 3:30 and found that they would not open until 4 pm due to an earlier water leak. We asked if we could just sit at the bar until they opened because we really wanted to have oysters for our anniversary. The manager said since we were wanting oysters we could sit at the bar and get drinks and the oysters. Chef Cody explained all the different oysters offered and we decided to let him choose the oysters and we were not disappointed . He chose the gulf coast, summer time, Black moon and pink moon. All the options were fresh tasting with just a touch of saltiness . We also had the mussels with fries. We have not had mussels this good in a very long time. the broth was thick with butter, wine and capers. The grilled ciabatta bread was so buttery and crispy we ordered additional pieces. The calamari was lightly breaded rings and tentacles and were heavenly. We also tried the Hi Mexican Lager on tap, it was light and smooth. Our bartender was very sweet and helpful with our choices. We also would like to thank the manager who being so accommodating to us and making our 42nd anniversary so special. We will definitely stop there again!!!!!“

“Carmelas has got to be the longest lasting good restaurant for Drippin folks along with Thyme and Dough. Consistently great food and service. It goes unnoticed I think because of its location on a small strip of spaces shared with a gas station/convenience store. Family owned. At the corner of RR12 and Hamilton Pool. We have never been dissapointed with their food, desserts, drinks and wine selection.“

“This place has become our go-to for great Chinese food at a great price! It's super quick, the restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and they have fast delivery too. Not only do they have a ton of Chinese food dishes, they have a few really good Vietnamese options on the menu too. You can't beat their Wok on Fire Special menu: which is basically the price of the dish at any other place but also comes with an egg roll, cup of soup, and 2 chicken wings. Great Chinese food and best value around for sure.“

“Great selection of meats and Pakistani/Indian foods.

They have the following sections:
1. Fresh vegetable section that has the usual (onions, tomatoes, chilli peppers, coriander, curry leaves, squash, etc). The veggies have been fresh when I have visited.
2. Freezer sections with frozen fish and the usual ready made products (for example they have deep tandoori naan, sawan parathas, bunch of different Punjabi samosas and halal chicken/beef/lamb frozen foods like shami kabab, Chapli kababs, chicken samosas, beef samosas etc), turkey bacon, chicken and beef sausage etc.
3. Dry goods section. This has all the basics, shaan masalas, chutney, flour, pickles etc. I also noticed they have some Arab foods like tahini, also canned Thai coconut milk and a limited selection of Thai/asian canned foods
4. Fresh meat section and Butcher. When you enter the store on the left they have nicely packaged fresh cut meats that are already pre-weighted and have a price so if you’re in a hurry you can grab them and go. Usually they have a good amount of chicken keema, chicken drumsticks, whole chicken cut etc for very good prices. Right next to it is a butcher section and you can give your order to the front check-out clerk while you shop, it is ready in 5-10 minutes. I also usually see pre-prepared meat orders that people call and place ahead of time. I’ve attached a photo of the meat prices as of 12/2025. I get my meat from here 95% of the time (unless I’m visiting North Austin and happen to be by the other halal stores) and each time it has been fresh.

Overall this is a super convenient store, especially for halal meat and frozen halal foods. I believe it is the only halal meat store in South Austin. The prices are very reasonable. The store is small compared to Desi Brothers, but I noticed they recently redid the interior and have a lot more inventory than they did a few months ago. I prefer this store over Desi Brothers just for all the fresh and frozen meat options, and drive over to Desi Brothers only if I’m missing anything major since it’s only 5-10 minutes. I would highly recommend this place and will keep giving them my business!“

“Simply amazing. We were there for sunset over Travis Lake and it did not disappoint. Food was amazing, drinks were perfect and the atmosphere on point. We sat outdoors and we loved it. Our waitress was perfect. We weren’t rushed, which was huge! Band playing on the patio were great! We will be back. Our only regret was not getting the tomahawk lol we are still talking about it. But my steak was delicious our sides so good. Thank you for a great experience. I was in from Jersey visiting my daughter and soon to be son in law and we loved it..“

“We came in from a horrible traffic jam on my birthday week and they welcomed us with warm gesture and really took care of us! The next day they sent us an amazing birthday gifts!! I am definitely coming back this year with additional family members !! Room, food, pools, spa and hospitality deserves 5 star!!
